1. INTRODUCTION
Y u have just acquired a pr duct manufactured by FAJARDO. The R nda m del is a t p-
class, n n-catalytic pr duct, manufactured with high-quality materials, with d uble
c mbusti n, n n-p lluting, with emissi ns f s lid particles f 5.47g per h ur, which
has been awarded with the EPA certificati n. It has been tested by the INTERTEK
Testing Services NA, Inc., in acc rdance with the UL1482 and ULC S627 standards.
Please read the wh le installati n manual carefully, in rder t ensure a c rrect
perati n and maintenance f y ur st ve.
Read this manual carefully bef re installing. Keep these instructi ns f r future
reference.

POSSIBLE BURNS.
-IT IS RECOMMENDED TO CARRY OUT PERIODICAL INSPECTIONS OF THE
CHIMNEY AND TO CLEAN IT WHEN NECESSARY.
-IN THE EVENT OF THE STOVE CATCHING FIRE: CLOSE THE AIR REGULATOR AND
CALL THE FIRE BRIGADE.
-IF YOU CAN SMELL BURNING OR THE AREA AROUND THE STOVE IS
OVERHEATED, ASK FOR A TECHNICAL REVISION.
-MAKE SURE NO COMPONENT OF THE ELECTRICITY NETWORK IN YOUR HOIME
IS AFFECTED BY THE HEAT FROM THE STOVE OR THE CHIMNEY.

-CLOSE THE DOOR AFTER LOADING THE STOVE. THIS STOVE HAS NOT BEEN
DESIGNED TO BE USED WITH THE DOOR OPEN.
-DO NOT RAISE THE FIRE TO THE HEIGHT OF THE GRATE. THE FIRE MUST BE
MADE IN THE HEARTH.
-DO NOT OVERHEAT. IF ANY PARTS OF THE STOVE OR THE CHIMNEY TURN RED,
THIS MEANS THERE IS OVERHEATING.
INSTALLATION
In rder t ensure the c rrect perati n f the st ve, the installati n must be
carried ut by f ll wing the instructi ns given in this manual.
The st ve must be placed in a well-ventilated area, which sh uld have at least ne
wind w. This will help t distribute the h t air between the different areas in the
h me.
The c nnecti n pipes sh uld have a diameter f 6 inches and b th these and the
st ve must be kept at a distance fr m inflammable material.
D n t install the st ve n an inflammable fl r. If this is n t p ssible, a metal r
ceramic plate (firepr f) must be placed under the st ve. This must c ver the
surface f the heater and pr trude 8 inches (203mm) n the sides and the pening
f the ash b x and 16 inches (406mm) n the fr nt. Under the c nnecti n f the
chimney, a pr jecti n f 2 inches (50.8mm) n either side will be necessary.

Never install the st ve near walls that burn easily (plasterb ard, wallpaper, etc.), and
pay special attenti n t curtains and/ r rugs. This c ncept is applied n t nly t visible
surfaces but t als what is behind inflammable material. If this is the case, it will be
necessary t respect safety distances. If y u have any d ubts regarding inflammable
material, the c mpetent auth rities are the best pe ple t give y u advice.
5. CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS
5.1. Safety distances:
It is imp rtant t place the st ve in an area that all ws sufficient circulati n f air
and we sh uld make sure it is n t an bstacle f r pe ple, especially children.
It is f extreme imp rtance t respect the safety distances indicated by the
manufacturer and th se that are stated by law in y ur area. Under n
circumstances sh uld the safety distances f the installati n be less than th se
indicated in this manual.

5.2. Reduced safety distances:
It is p ssible f r y u t reduce these distances by installing pr tective screens
between the walls r in the ceiling and the st ve. These pr tective screens must be
installed permanently and may be made f a steel sheet, a rigid inflammable panel,
r a brick wall.
A distance f 1 inch (25cm) between the b tt m f the pr tective screen and the
fl r, and a distance f 3 inches (76cm) between the t p f the screen and the
ceiling are the distances that are required t ensure a pr per circulati n f air
behind the screen. The pr tective screen must exceed the t p f the st ve by 20
inches (500mm) and it must exceed the sides by at least 18 inches (450mm).
6. CONDUCT
S me rules that need t be remembered f r the c rrect functi ning f the st ve:
-Use resistant and inflammable materials.
-D n t use fibre-glass c ncrete.
-The diameter must be the same width - 6inches - as the utlet n the st ve and in
regard t the minimum thickness, f r a black steel pipe this must be f 24 calibre and if
a br nze steel pipe is used, it must be f 26 calibre. Each st ve must have its wn
c nduct, that is, DO NOT CONNECT SEVERAL STOVES TO THE SAME CONDUCT. This
must be in perfect c nditi n and kept clean t ensure it draws perfectly, thus
maintaining the fire alive.
6.1. Connection pipe to the chimney:
The c nnecti n pipes must have a diameter f 6”.
D n t use aluminium pipes r galvanised steel with this kind f appliance; they
are n t prepared t resist such high temperatures and under these c nditi ns
they c uld issue t xic gases.
Do not connect or use toget er wit any air distribution conduct, unless it as
been specifically approved for t is installation.

The pipes must be p siti ned n the utlet pening with the male part f each
pipe facing t wards the st ve. This will st p the cre s te/s t caused by
c ndensati n fr m falling d wn the pipe and nt the st ve (A) facing t wards the
st ve and (B) facing upwards.
All the pipes, including the ne that is in the sm ke utlet, will be attached with
tw metal screws.
If p ssible, the st ve can be installed in the fireplace under the chimney. Take
the necessary precauti ns when passing thr ugh f rged areas, use insulated
d uble pipes in the cases there is a risk f fire. The pipes will n t pass thr ugh
attics, r fs, cupb ards r any similar hidden area. When it is necessary t pass
thr ugh a wall, r a part f a building, the installati n will be carried ut in
acc rdance with the NFPA 211 r CAN/CSA-B365 regulati ns f the Installati n
C de f r Electrical Appliances f r s lid fuel burning.
6.2. Chimney:
WARNING: THIS APPLIANCE IS NOT SUITABLE FOR INSTALLATION IN A CHIMNEY
SYSTEM THAT IS SHARED WITH OTHER APPLIANCES.
This pr duct must be c nnected t a chimney that c mplies with the requirements
f r this type f HT chimneys in the Regulati ns n UL 103 chimneys r a c de-
appr ved brick chimney with a flue liner.

6.2.1. Prefabricated chimney.

6.3. Heig t of t e c imney.
The chimney sh uld be at least 36” (90cm) taller than the place where it meets the
r f and at least 24” (60cm) taller than the highest p int f the wh le structure
within a radius f 120” (305cm). The minimum t tal height f the c nduct fr m the
t p f the st ve t the tip f the chimney utside must be f at least 144 inches
(366cm), in rder t btain a c rrect draw.
DRAW: a c rrect draw will enable y u t btain maximum perf rmance and enj yment
fr m y ur appliance.
The tendency f h t air rising creates the draw.
When the st ve is lit, the h t air will rise up the sm ke c nduct and will g utside. The
c nduct heats and maintains the draw. Until the st ve and the chimney are b th h t,
the draw will n t functi n perfectly. The c nduct must be clean and in perfect
c nditi n in rder t btain a g d draw f the st ve and t keep the flame alive.
The p siti n, size and height f the sm ke c nduct affect the draw.
It is necessary t take the f ll wing p ints int c nsiderati n:
-The diameter rec mmended by the manufacturer maintains a g d draw.
-The st ve and its evacuati n pipe will be kept h t if they are placed inside the
h me, thus all wing a better draw.
-The stretches f draw that have t be placed utside the h me must be
adequately insulated, in rder t keep the sm ke h t, thus ensuring a c rrect
draw.
-The height f the chimney affects the draw.

-In the event the sm ke c nduct has t be diverted, there must n t be m re
than tw inclinati ns and the angles must n t exceed 45º
-Never install a damper. This pr duct is a st ve with c ntr lled c mbusti n. We
can regulate the draw by means f the entries f primary air.
When installati ns are made in places with str ng winds and/ r when the pipe
extends m re than 1 metre ab ve the r f, it is necessary t place tens rs t
supp rt the pipe.
If w rk, m dificati ns r repairs have been carried ut near the pipe r the st ve
after installati n, check that n ne f the details specified in this User Manual has
been altered.
7. LIGHTING
Bef re starting y ur appliance, check that the refract ry st nes in vermiculite are
c rrectly p siti ned.
7.1. UEL: Use firewood
The m st rec mmended w d c rresp nds t that which d es n t have much resin
and which has been drying in the pen air f r between ne and tw years, making sure
there is n m re than 20% degree f humidity. Take int acc unt that w d with an
excessive degree f humidity d es n t heat, it burns badly, it c ats the glass with
cre s te and vap ur, as well as fav uring the dep sit f s t n the appliance, glass
and sm ke c nducts (chimney).
Never burn salty w d, w d f und n the beach, treated w d r w d that has
been f und in a salt-water lake, since this type f fuel c uld cause c rr si n in the fuel
chamber.
Never use chemical fuel r liquids t light the st ve, such as alc h l, petr l, naphtha,
ker sene, etc. These kinds f pr ducts must be kept away fr m the st ve when it is in
use.
It is t tally f rbidden t burn painted paper, plastics, cardb ard, mineral fuel, c al, etc.
This c uld seri usly damage y ur st ve, p llute the air and even cause it t catch fire.
NEVER BURN MANUFACTURED FIREWOOD THAT CONTAINS CHEMICAL ADDITIVES.
Any damage caused by c emical products or salt are excluded from t e guarantee.

7.2. LIGHTING:
7.2.1. LIGHTING OR THE IRST TIME:
1. Place a piece of crushed paper on the combustion chamber and cover with
several wood chips.
2. Light the fire and close the door leaving the draw open.
3. Add a load of wood of not more than 2 kilos ( . pounds), leaving some space
for air to circulate.

. Close the door and leave the air vent completely open until the wood has caught
fire.
The fire must burn sl wly f r three r f ur h urs, with a m derate l ad f firew d, t
all w the paint pigments t burn.
At the beginning, the st ve may pr duce a smell and s me sm ke. This is due t
certain c mp nents f the ex thermic paint burning; f r this reas n, it is
rec mmended t ventilate the r m well, until the smell has c mpletely disappeared.
At the beginning, it is c nvenient t n t excessively heat the st ve.
7.2.2. LIGHTING IN NORMAL CONDITIONS:
Make the fire n the grate with the paper and w d chips r special fire-lighting cubes.
Av id lighting the fire near the glass. Once the fire has been lit and the air vent is
w rking well, add between a maximum f 2 (4.4 p unds) and 4kg (8.8 p unds) f dry
firew d f r each l ad. NEVER OVERLOAD THE STOVE. DO NOT ADD MORE THAN 5kg,
an verl ad c uld cause the st ve t verheat and damage the appliance.
It is rec mmended t light the fire with a reduced quantity f firew d s the air vent
is able t start w rking pr gressively with ut accumulating t sm ke inside the st ve
chamber.
It is rec mmended that during the lighting phase the d r is kept ajar, as this makes
lighting easier and st ps the glass fr m misting up during the first minutes.
Once the st ve has been lit and it is h t, the d r must be cl sed. T is stove is not
designed to work wit t e door open, ot erwise t is could damage t e welding.

7.2.3. THE RATE O THE COMBUSTION:
The st ve must functi n with the d r cl sed.
When the st ve starts burning n rmally, the desired temperature will be btained by
c ntr lling the entry f air by means f the regulat r l cated in the glass d r. If it is
pen, the temperature will increase and c nsumpti n and if it is cl sed, b th the
temperature and c nsumpti n decrease.

it fr m bec ming dirty.
D n t pen the d r t quickly r vi lently t av id the drawing the flame and
sm ke utside and when cl sing the d r, make sure this is d ne s ftly, in rder t
av id bangs, which c uld kn ck it ut f p siti n r break the glass.
It is n rmal that after the first few times the st ve is used, the brass pieces will turn
c pper-c l ured and they bec me darker.

8. CLEANING
8.1. COMBUSTION CHAMBER.
Cleaning must be carried out regularly, and only w en t e appliance is cold.
It is necessary to clean t e w ole of t e combustion c amber and its corresponding
removable parts, grate, deflector, etc.
8.2. GLASS DOOR:
T av id the glass getting dirty quickly, d n t burn humid firew d. Keep the air
c ntr l in the intermediate r maximum p siti n.
8.2.1. Cleaning:
it is a g d idea t clean peri dically s the remains f s t d n t turn black. Special
wind w cleaners f r st ves are quite effective pr ducts.

D n t ever try t clean the glass whilst the st ve is in use, r use abrasive pr ducts
that may scratch it.
8.2.2. Replacement:
The glass can resist a temperature f 750ºC. In the event f it accidently breaking, it
must be replaced by glass that has the same characteristics. T av id accidents, it is
necessary t wear gl ves when handling br ken glass. C ntact ur distribut r wh will
supply y u with ceramic, 3-cm thick glass f the same quality, with the appr priate
j ints f r y ur st ve. A w rn j int makes the glass turn black quicker.
Never replace the glass f r current glass; it has t resist 750ºC. In rder t av id
breakages, try t cl se the d r s ftly, av iding any bangs.
8.3. CLEANING O ASHES.
The st ve is pr vided with an ash drawer that is situated under the glass d r.
D n t let the drawer fill up with ashes until these reach the grate as this c uld
verheat the grate, thus causing damage, as well as bl cking the passage f the
c mbusti n air.
The ashes sh uld be rem ved and placed in a steel c ntainer with an airtight lid and it
will be taken utside immediately. It will n t be p ssible t sell ther pr ducts in this
same c ntainer.
8.4. ORMATION O CREASOTE and/or SOOT.
When w d burns sl wly, it pr duces tar and ther chemical vap urs and when these
c mbine with humidity they f rm cre s te, expelling tar. The vap urs f the are
c ndensed in the chimney pipe that is relatively c ld due t a red-h t, sl w fire. As a
result, the residues f cre s te accumulate inside the pipe. When this is lit, the
cre s te can cause an intense, very h t fire.
The chimney sh uld be inspected peri dically during the seas n when heating is
necessary in rder t determine whether there is an accumulati n f cre s te. If there
is a significant layer f cre s te, (3mm r m re) this must be rem ved, in rder t
reduce the risk f the chimney catching fire.

This st ve is a t p-quality pr duct, manufactured with high-quality materials. If despite
everything, any fault is pr duced, please c nsult ur distribut r first. If this pers n is
unable t res lve the pr blem, he/she will c ntact us. Our c mpany will replace any
faulty part, free f charge. Lab ur, shipping f r c llecting and sending will n t be
inv iced, as l ng as it can be pr ved that the pr blem is due t a faulty pr duct.
Otherwise, the cust mer will be resp nsible f r all the expenses that are caused by the
incident (lab ur, tw -way shipping, plus spare parts).
