The following symbols are used in this manual:

Warning indicating danger to humans or animals.
Electrical shock hazard. Danger to humans and animals.
Example of a practical application of the described functionality.

Before installing and commissioning the eYeGrow, read the safety instructions, provisions and conditions
carefully. This paragraph contains a number of general safety instructions. The installation of the device and
remedying of any malfunctions should be performed by a certified electrical installer according to the applicable
norms. The guarantee does not apply if this product is installed in any other way than is indicated by PigTek.
Ensure that the workplace is clean and dry.
Check the eYeGrow for proper functioning regularly.
Never install a damaged eYeGrow! Notify your supplier of any damages.

The eYeGrow is an automatic weight monitor for finishers. A 3D camera installed in the ridge/ceiling of a pen
continually monitors and registers the animals so the computer can accurately calculate their weight. This is an
entirely automatic and stress-free process for the animals. Manual weighing causes stress which will be reflected
by a growth dip. eYeGrow prevents this growth dip and requires no additional labor input. The eYeGrow allows
the development of a group of finishers to be followed from day to day. You can easily adapt your operational
management towards an optimal feed strategy and save feed costs.
The system has a built-in user interface so no extra software is needed to read out the data, such as average
weight, growth per day, number of measurements, deviation and uniformity. Important management information is
available 24/7 no matter where you are. The sensor is a small box, located 7 1/2 ft [2.3m]above the pen. Animals
are weighed from 88.18 lbs [40 kilograms]. The software starts showing measurements between 88.18 and
110.23 lbs. [40 and 50 kilograms].
Install the eYeGrow as follows:
1. Mount the eYeGrow (see page 2)
2. Connect the eYeGrow and Switch 5-port (see page 4)
3. Scan for the IP addresses of the eYeGrow (see page 5)
Mount the eYeGrow at exactly 7 1/2 ft [2.30 meter]height. The sensor should hang parallel to the floor.
The eYeGrow should be mounted above unobstructed floor area wherever possible. The eYeGrow
should not be mounted on vibrating equipment such as augers or motors.
Never place the eYeGrow in a place where the weather has direct influence (not in the sun, not in
places where the temperature can rise sharply etc.).
The eYeGrow should be located in a region of the pen with high levels of activity.
The mounting system should be robust so that it cannot move during washing and affect the sensor
position.
1. Determine the location in the ridge of the barn.
2. Mount the eYeGrow with the lens down.

Mounting Bracket Installation (Optional)
Mounting kit contents:
20" Adjusting Flat X 1
10" Adjusting Flat X1
4" Adjusting Flat X1
Ceiling Angle Mount
Plate Assembly X 1
For your installation, determine if you
will need an adjusting flat and what size
you will use. PigTek recommends using
only one adjusting flat per eYeGrow.
Example configurations are shown
below:
NOTES:
•Kits can be assembled with or without the adjusting flats, and at
any desired angle, from 0 to 90 degrees, to help you achieve
the optimal 7.55 ft height for the eYeGrow to hang.
•It is recommended to use at least two screw holes to secure the
20" flat. to the angle mount.
•The ceiling angle mount piece must be mounted to wood using
3/8" lag bolts only. Any other method of mounting the eYeGrow
may void eYeGrow warranty at PigTek's discretion.

Maximum length for Ethernet wire is 328 ft. [100m].
24V DC wire is 2 conductor x 20 AWG [0.8 mm] minimum.
The 5-port switch can power up to four eYeGrow boxes.
Connect the cables in the eYeGrow as follows (e.g. four eYeGrow):
1. Open all eYeGrow boxes and connect 24V DC cables to the next eYeGrow box.
2. Open the Switch 5-port and connect the 24V DC cable to the first eYeGrow box.
3. Connect each eYeGrow box with an ethernet cable to the Switch 5-port.
4. Connect the Switch 5-port to the local internet.

found at this link: https://www.advanced-ip-scanner.com/
2. Check the MAC Address on the eYeGrow camera box (00:19:B8:02:xx:xx) and match the IP address to the
MAC Address.
3. Go to the internet browser and enter the IP address of the camera. The browser will open and shows the

Growth: Readout of the average growth yesterday.
Readings today: Readout of the number of readings today.
Uniformity: Readout of the percentage how many pigs meets the average weight (-10% + 10%).
Standard deviation: Readout of the standard deviation weight in comparison to the average weight:
Small standard deviation: many measurements are close to the average weight.
Large standard deviation: many measurements differs a lot compared to the average weight.
Sensor status: Overview of the sensor status
Status incorrect: Red
Status correct: Green

From the overview screen you can open graphs and tables by clicking the buttons. The graphs and tables shows
the measured data from the start of the rearing batch.
Update table and graph
Set the From and To date and click Update to update the data in the graph and table.

internet updates will be carried out automatically. If nesessary click Restart sensor to restart the sensor.
Cleaning of dust / fly faeces has been undertaken once per rearing batch using a streak free screen
cleaner and microfibre cloth.
Use the correct cleaning products to avoid scratching lid.
When the number of measurments decreases there might be a obstruction on the sensor - such as dirt. The
sensor needs to be cleaned at least once per rearing batch (more often if necessary).
