3. Releaseall pressurewithinsystembefore servicing anycomponent.

a. Wearsafetyglassesatalltimeswhenworking withpumps.
b. Keepworkareaclean,unclutteredand properlylighted-replaceall unusedtoolsand
equipment.
c. Keepvisitorsata safedistancefromworkarea.
d. Besureitisconnectedonlytoa properlygroundedgrounding type receptacle.
6. All wiringshouldbe performedbya qualifiedelectrician.
7. Protectelectricalcordfromsharpobjects, hotsurfaces, oil,andchemicals.
8. Donothandle pumporpumpmotorwithwethandsorwhenstandingonwetordampsurface,

CAUTION
Inspectthe pumpsbefore puttingthemtowork:
a. Immediatelyuponreceiptofthe shipment,inspectandcheckwiththepackinglistand report
tothe transportationcompany slocalagentanydamageorshortage. Inspectcartonand
wrappingbeforediscarding. Partsoraccessoriesmaysometimesbewrappedindividuallyand
packedinthecarton.
b. Make sure there arenonicksorcutsonthecord.
WIRINGTHESUBMERSIBLE MOTOR
Itisimportanttowirethemotorscorrectlysothatthedirectionofrotationofthe pumpsincorrect.
Ifthemotorcanbe connectedtemporarilybefore it isloweredintothesump,avisualcheckcanbe
madeonitsside sothatthe impellercanbeviewedfromthe suctionendofthe pump. Themotor
shouldbe startedmomentarilyandthe rotation checked.If itisincorrect,interchange anytwo
leadsatthestarterandthe rotation will be correct.The pumpcanthenbeinstalledinthepit.Ifthe
pumpandmotorunithasalreadybeeninstalledinthe pit, the rotationcanbecheckedinanyofthe
followingways:
a. Feelthedischarge pipewiththehandwhile the pumpisrunning.Thevibrationwillbe
substantialifthepumpisrunninginthewrongdirection.
b. Checkthe amperagedrawofthe pumpwhileoperating. Thenswitchtwoleadsatthe starter
andchecktheamperageagain. The loweramperage drawwill indicatethe correctdirectionof
rotation.
c. The pumpwillhave less capacityifrotatinginthewrongdirection.Checkthetimeit takesto
pumpthe pit downfromahigh pointtoalowpoint.Thenswitchtwoleadsatthe starterand
checkthe timeagain, The connectionthatrequiresthe leastamountoftime topumpthe pit
downisthecorrectone.

PIPING
Allpipesshouldbe supportedindependentlyofthe pumptoavoidputtingundue strainonthe
pumpingunit.Aunionshouldbe installedinthe pumpdischargelineclose tothe sumpcoverthat
thedischargepipecanbe brokenand thepumpremovedfromthepitwiththedischarge pipe
intact.
Acheckvalveanda gatevalve shouldalsobe installedineachpumpdischargelinetoprevent
flowbackwardsthroughpumpwhenpumpshutsoff.
Dischargepipesize shouldbe nosmallerthanthe pumpdischarge connectionsize, andincasesof
longruns,it shouldbeoneortwopipe sizeslarger.
PITSANDBASINS
Sumppitsorbasinsshouldbe inspectedregularlyandthesedimentcleanedoutasoftenas
required.
PUMPOPERATION
a. Keeptheworkarea clean,unclutteredandproperlylightedandkeepvisitorsata distance
fromtheworkarea. Donotattempttomovethepumpbeforedisconnectingit fromthe power
supply.
b. Fora satisfactorypumpperformance, usersarerecommendedtochoose anappropriatehead
forthe pumpaccording totherealheight, towhichliquidswillbe pumped.Too higha head
causesdeliverytodecrease;toolowaheadcouldoverloadthemotor.Overthe time, If a
pumpstopsabruptlyandresumesworking aftera fewminutes, causesshouldbecheckedand
solved.
c. Ifabnormalsoundora suddenincreasednoise isheardfroma pumpinuse, stoptocheckfor
causes.
d. Accordingtothe specificationsofthepumps, filteringequipmentistobe providedtoprevent
thesolidslargerthanallowedfromentering the pumps.
e. Providesufficientcoolingtothe pumpsshouldtheyworkinshallowwaterareawhere the
motorsmaybe seenoutofwaterfora longtime. Thismaygetthemotorsburntdowndueto
overtemperature increase.

F&QPUMPS, INC. herebywarrantsyourunit. Inaccordance withandsubjecttothe provisions
hereincontained,againstdefectsinmaterialandworkmanshipundernormaluse and service when
properlyconnectedforaperiodof12 monthsor1000 hoursoperation(whicheveroccursfirst),
fromthedateofpurchase.Inthe eventofa breakdownorfailureofyourunitorpartthereof,
withinthe period of12monthsor1000hoursoperation,whichpreventsnormalworking,the
Companywill,ifyourunitisreturnedtothe companyorbypermission toitsagent,repairthe
breakdownorfailure andreplaceanydefective partorthe wholeunit atthe Company soption free
ofchange. Freightchargeswillbethe User sresponsibility.Spare partsarenormallystockedfora
periodoffiveyearsandgenerallystockedforthelifeofthe unit.
Thiswarrantydoesnotextendtoorcovertheunitoranypartofit which, intheopinionofthe
Company,haswornbyreasonable wearandtear,abradedofcorrodedbyfluidpumped,run ina
drycondition,operatedathightemperaturesoroutsidethe technicalspecificationoftheunit.Nor
doeswarrantyextendtocoverthe unitoranypartofitwhichhasbeendamageorrendered
defectivebyaccident, willfulact,negligence (otherthanthatbytheCompany),usageofother
thanthe Company sparts, operation onvoltagesorfrequenciesotherthanindicatedon therating
plate, incorrectlysetvoltageregulator,electricalfusion,lightningorbyothermajorforces.This
warrantyisanexclusive warrantyandisinlieuofall otherwarrantiesandconditions, expressed
orimplied,whetherstatutoryorotherwise.
The Companyshall notbeliableforanyloss ordamageofanykindwhatsoever(includinginjury
ordeathtopersonsoranimalsorloss ordamagetoproperty)whethersufferedorincurredbythe
userorbysomethirdpartywhere suchlossordamage arisesinrelationtoorasa result oftheunit
oranypartthereof,andwhetherarisingwhollyorpartlyasa resultofnegligence oftheCompany,
itsagentsorotherwise. Withoutlimitation upon the provisionsoftheforegoing provisionsofthis
clause, the Companyshallnotbeliableforanyconsequentialloss ordamage(includingfinancial
loss ordamage)and inno eventandinnotcircumstancesshallthe liabilityofthe Companytothe
useroranythirdpartyexceedthetotalpurchase priceoftheunit orpartsthereofinquestion.
Some statesand countriesdonotallowlimitationson howlonganimpliedwarrantylastsorthe
exclusion orlimitationofincidentalorconsequentialdamages, sotheabovelimitationsor
exclusionsmaynotapplytoyou. Thiswarrantygivesyouspecific legalrightsandyoumayalso
