1. Introduction
1.1. Overview
Sometimes, we may not be able to login device’s webpage or get 404 error when try web login, we
may recover the device by post upgrading. This document introduces how to update some industry
products under post mode, these products include i12, i16V, i18S, i20S, i23S, i30, i31S, i32V, i33V,
PA2.
1.2. Applicable Model
Fanvil i12, i16V, i18S, i20S, i23S, i30, i31S, i32V, i33V, PA2.
1.3. Before You Start
Step1.
Prepare PoE switch, network cable, Fanvil industry products, computer.
Step2.
Refer to the connection diagram, connect Fanvil industry products and computer to the switch.

2. Operation Guide
First, you need to prepare the environment, then you should get you device into post mode. Finally
you can update your device through tools in your computer. Please check the following steps for
detail.
2.1. Prepare the environment
Step1.
Refer to the connection diagram, connect the computer and Fanvil industry products to the same
PoE switch with Network cable.
Step2.
Add IP address 192.168.10.X for example 192.168.10.2 on the PC.
(IP address between 192.168.10.2-192.168.10.254 is ok)
Step3.
Download the new version you want to update, and save it in your computer. For example:
D:\333\iSeries2.8.2.7009T20210531154501.z
Step4.
Prepare FTP server and load the update file:
①Click http://download.fanvil.com/HowTo/UpdateInPostMode/wftpd32.rar to download
wftpd32.exe, and open WFTPD.exe, click Security and select Users/rights.

②Click New User to create an user and setup username and password (note down username and
password). Select the user you created and set the firmware file directory in Home Directory
option (here is：D:\333). Click button “Done”to apply.
2.2. Get your device into post mode
Step1.
find the # and * button of your product.
For i20S, i23S and such products with keypad, you can find the # and * button in the keypad.
For i12, i16V and such products without keypad, you need to open back cover, you can find the #
and * button from the backside of the product. Take i32V for an example:
Step2.
Press * and # buttons simultaneously while power on the device, then device will go to post mode.
2.3. Update your device
Step1.
Press Win and R button on PC, then input cmd to open CMD window. Input telnet 192.168.10.1
and press enter, user will see the below information.

Step2.
Input 2 to begin the image update. Follow the prompt, input the file information:
Step3.
Input 4 to exit and reboot.
Notice:
If you are unable to make telnet connection with PC’s CMD window, please use putty to perform,
steps are as following:
1) Click http://download.fanvil.com/tool/putty_V0.63.0.0.43510830.7z to download putty;
2) Select telnet in connection type option, and input 192.168.10.1 in Host Name option;
3) Click Open to start.
