GENERAL DESCRIPTION AND INTENDED
USE OF THE CHIPPER
FARMI CH27 is a disk chipper for tractor-
mounted operation. As the chip size is adjus-
table, the chipper can be used e.g. for the pro-
duction of chips to be used for landscaping
or for bio energy. The chipper can be used to
chop trunks, twigs and tree tops as well as
chopping waste and saw mill waste. The chip-
per can shred wood with a max. trunk diameter
of 270 mm.
The FARMI CH27 chipper is mounted to the
3-point hitch of a tractor. It is driven by the
tractor PTO. The driving force is transferred
to the chipper via the PTO drive shaft. During
chipping, the chipper rotor on which the bla-
des for cutting the material are mounted is dri-
ven by the tractor. From the knives, the chips
are fed to the additional knives which cut the
chips to the desired size. Finally, the chips are
discharged to the desired position using a di-
scharge pipe. The material to be cut is loaded
into the chipper using a grab loader.
The FARMI CH27 chipper must always be used
together with one of the following Farmi feed
units:
Chipper and feed unit combinations for grab
loader feed:
FARMI CH27 + ACR
FARMI CH27 + ACC
FARMI CH27 + ACR + BC3000
The FARMI CH27 chipper
must never be coupled to
other feed units. Moreover,
the chipper must not be
used without a feed unit.
CAUTION!
!
DESCRIPTION OF WORKSITES
A worksite with a level and rm surface should
be used when chipping. Clear any small brush
and stones from the worksite. The material to
be chipped should be as clean as possible -
make every eort to keep soil or stones from
entering the chipper.
Avoid chipping in close proximity to power li-
nes. The distance from power lines must always
be at least 5 metres + 20 m of the crane work
area.
Reserve an adequate amount of working space
for the chipper and transport equipment.
Do not store fuelwood stacks near objects
which can cause damage to the chipper if they
should enter it (e.g. saws, log tongs, etc.).
If the chips are to be discharged directly into
chip storage, ensure that the discharge hole is
set at a suitable height.

ACCESSORIES
1. Independent hydraulic unit HD50
• Recommended for use if the tractor hyd-
raulic output is above or below the CH27
chipper oil requirement of approximately
45 l/min.
• It is especially recommended for use with
the chipper-crane combination.
2. Oil cooler for the HD50 unit
• Recommended for use in contracting work
and when the chipper is being operated in
extremely warm conditions.
3. Cross breaker
• The purpose of the cross breaker is to shred
long branches and twigs when the raw ma-
terial to be chipped is, for example, whole
trees or sawn surfaces.
• The cross breaker can be installed in place
of the twig breaker, which comes stan-
dard with the CH27. The cross breaker is
mounted using the same washers and nuts
as used for the twig breaker.
• Note! Use of the cross breaker reduces the
chipper discharge output by approximately
30%.
4. Hydraulic discharge pipe control
• Directing the discharge pipe by hydraulic
motor and controlling the lid by hydraulic
cylinder
• This is done using the tractor’s own hydrau-
lics, thus allowing the operator to control
the discharge pipe from the tractor cab.
• Recommended for use in contracting work.
5. Radio control of chipper functions,
Teleradio Panther
• Radio control of chipper feeder device
functions and feed stop
• This is used when the feeding crane is
mounted to a machine other than the chip-
per itself.
• Radio control makes it possible to eliminate
the use of easily-damaged electrical cables
between machines.
•
6. 3PSL crane mounting bracket and
