INTRODUCTION
The Uconnect Radio was designed
according to the specific
characteristics of the passenger
compartment, with a customised
design that perfectly matches matching
the style of the dashboard.
The instructions for use are given
below and we recommend you to read
them carefully.

TIPS
Familiarise yourself with the various
radio functions (for example, store the
stations) before starting to drive.
Reception conditions
Reception conditions change
constantly while driving. Reception may
be interfered with by the presence of
mountains, buildings or bridges,
especially when you are far away from
the broadcaster.
IMPORTANT The volume may be
increased when receiving traffic
bulletins.

Care and maintenance
Only clean the cover with a soft, anti-
static cloth. Cleaning and polishing
products may damage the surface.
ANTITHEFT PROTECTION
The radio is equipped with an
anti-theft protection system based on
the exchange of information between
the radio and the electronic control
unit (Body Computer) present on the
vehicle.
This system guarantees maximum
security and avoids the need to enter
the secret code every time the radio
power supply is disconnected.
If the check has a positive outcome,
the radio will start to function, whereas
if the comparison codes are not the
same or if the electronic control unit
(Body Computer) is replaced, the
device will ask the user to enter the
secret code according to the
procedure described in the paragraph
below.
Entering the secret
code
When you turn on the radio, if the
secret code is required, the display will
show the word “Code” for about 2
seconds, followed by four dashes
“- - - -”.
The code is made up of four digits
from 1 to 6, each corresponding to
one of the dashes.
To enter the first digit, press the
corresponding button of the preset
stations (from 1 to 6). Enter the other
code digits in the same way.
If the four digits are not entered within
20 seconds, the display will show
“Enter code - - - -”. If this occurs, it is
not considered an incorrect code
entry.

After entering the fourth digit
(within 20 seconds), the radio will
work.
If an incorrect code is entered, the
radio will emit a sound and the display
shows the text “Radio blocked/wait”
to notify the user of the need to enter
the correct code.
The waiting time increases each time
you enter an incorrect code
(1 min, 2 min, 4 min, 8 min, 16 min,
30 min, 1h, 2h, 4h, 8h, 16h, 24h) up
to a maximum of 24 hours. The
waiting time will be shown on the
display with the words “Radio
blocked/wait”. After the text has
disappeared it is possible to start the
code entering procedure again.
Vehicle radio passport
This document certifies the ownership
of the vehicle radio.
The car radio passport shows the
radio model, serial number and secret
code.
WARNING Keep the car radio
passport in a safe place so that you
can give the information to the relevant
authorities if the radio is stolen.
In case of loss of the car radio
passport, contact the Fiat Dealership,
taking an ID document and the car
ownership documents.

1) If the volume is too high, it may be a
hazard to the driver and other road users.
Always adjust the volume so that you can
still hear background noises.
2) Using some of the system features while
driving can divert attention away from the
road, with the risk of causing accidents or
other serious consequences; therefore,
only use them when the driving conditions
allow and, where necessary, only when the
car is stationary.
3) Read these instructions and follow
them: before using the system, read all the
instructions and safety information in this
manual and follow them.
Failure to observe the precautions found in
this manual may lead to an accident or
other serious consequences.
4) Keep the manual in the car: if you keep
the manual in the car, it becomes a quick
and easy reference for those who are not
familiar with the system. Make sure that
everyone can access the manual and that
they carefully read the instructions and
safety information before using the system
for the first time.
WARNING
1) If the volume is too high, it may be a

Always adjust the volume so that you can

IMPORTANT
5) Warning: referring to the system while
diving can divert attention away from the
road, with the risk of causing accidents or
other serious consequences.
Do not change system settings or enter
data non-verbally (using the manual
controls) while driving. Stop the car in a
safe and legal manner before carrying out
these operations. Adopting these
precautions is important since setting or
changing some functions might require the
driver to be distracted away from the road
and remove his or her hands from the
steering wheel.
6) Voice commands: you can perform
system functions using only voice
commands. The use of voice commands
when driving allows you to manage the
system without taking your hands off the
steering wheel.
7) Looking at the display for a long time:
while driving, do not use any function that
requires you to look at the display for a
long time. Pull over in a safe and legal
manner before attempting to access a
function of the system that requires
prolonged attention. Even occasional quick
glances at the display can be dangerous if
the driver’s attention is diverted at a critical
moment.
8) Setting the volume: do not turn the
volume up too high. Keep the volume at a
level where you can still hear outside traffic
and emergency signals while driving.
Driving without being able to hear these
sounds can cause accidents.
9) Using voice recognition: the voice
recognitions software is based on a
statistical process that may be subject to
errors. It is your responsibility to monitor
voice recognition functions included in the
system and address any errors.
10) Danger of distraction: the functions
may require manual settings (not using
voice commands).
Attempting to perform such setup or insert
data while driving can seriously distract
your attention and could cause an accident
or other serious consequences. Stop the
car in a safe and legal manner before
carrying out these operations.

The radio offers the following

❒ manually store 36 or 54 stations:
18 in the FM band (6 in FM-A, 6 in
FM-B and 6 in FM-C) and 18 in AM
(6 in AM-A, 6 in AM-B and 6 in
AM-C) and 18 in DAB (where
present);
❒ SPEED VOLUME function:
automatic volume adjustment
depending on the car speed;
❒ automatic Stereo/Mono select.
FUNCTIONS AND
ADJUSTMENTS
SWITCHING ON
THE RADIO
To turn the radio on, briefly press the
g(ON/OFF) button.
When the car radio is turned on, the
volume is limited to a setting of 5 if it
had been set lower when used
previously.
If you turn on the radio with the key
removed from the ignition device, it will
turn off automatically after about 20
minutes (if this time has been set).
After the radio has turned itself off
automatically, you can turn it on again
for a further 20 minutes by pressing
the g(ON/OFF) button.
SWITCHING OFF
THE RADIO

SELECTING THE RADIO
FUNCTIONS
Repeatedly press the AM button briefly
to cyclically select the following audio
sources: FM, AM e DAB (where
provided).
Repeatedly press the ABC button
briefly to select the preset banks:
“FM-A”, “FM-B”, “FM-C”, “AM-A”,
“AM-B”, “AM-C” and the three DAB
radio banks (where provided).
AUDIO SOURCE
MEMORY FUNCTION
If you select another function (e.g. the
radio) while playing a file on a USB
device, playback is interrupted and will
resume from the same point when you
return to USB mode.
If another function is selected whilst
listening to the radio, the last station
selected is tuned into when returning to
the Radio mode.
VOLUME ADJUSTMENT
To adjust the volume, turn the ring nut
fig. 1.
If the volume level is changed during
the transmission of traffic news, the
new setting will only be maintained until
the news is finished.
MUTE FUNCTION
(ZEROING THE VOLUME)
Press the ^/ button on the
steering wheel to enable the Mute
function.
In the Radio source, the word “MUTE”
will appear, associated with the active
source.
Press the ^/ button on the
steering wheel again to disable the
Mute function.
–
–
When the volume is changed using the
dedicated controls, the Mute function
is deactivated and the volume is
adjusted to the new level selected.
The Mute function will be overridden
when there is an incoming traffic alert
(if the TA function is on) or if an
emergency alarm is received.
The function will be reactivated when
the alert is over.
AUDIO SETTINGS
The functions that can be selected
from the audio menu change
depending on the context:
AM/FM/USB/iPod/Bluetooth®/AUX.
Press the button briefly to change
the Audio functions.
After the first press of the button,
the display will show the bass level
value for the current source
(e.g. in FM mode the display will show
“FM Bass + 2”).

through the Menu functions.
Use the or buttons to change the
selected function setting.
The current status of the selected
function appears on the display.
The functions managed by the Menu
are:
❒ BASS (adjust the bass tone);
❒ TREBLE (adjust the treble tone);
❒ BALANCE (adjust the left/right
balance);
❒ FADER (adjust the front/back
balance);
❒ LOUDNESS (enable/disable the
LOUDNESS function);
❒ EQUALIZER (enable and select the
factory equalizer presets);
❒ My EQ (custom equalizer settings).
ADJUSTING THE TONE
(BASS/TREBLE)
Proceed as follows:
❒ Use the or ▼buttons to select
“Bass” or “Treble” from the
menu;
❒ press the or to
increase/decrease the bass or
treble.
Pressing the buttons briefly makes a
gradual change. A longer press makes
quick changes.
ADJUSTING THE
BALANCE
Proceed as follows:
❒ Use the or ▼buttons to select
“Balance” from the menu;
❒ press the button to turn up the
sound from the right speakers or
the button to turn up the sound
from the left speakers.
Pressing the buttons briefly makes a
gradual change. A longer press makes
quick changes.
Select “or ” to set the left and
right audio outputs to the same value.
FADER ADJUSTMENT
Proceed as follows:
❒ Use the or ▼buttons to select
“Fader” from the menu;
❒ press the button to turn up the
sound from the rear speakers or
the button to turn up the sound
from the front speakers.
Pressing the buttons briefly makes a
gradual change. A longer press makes
quick changes.
Select “or ” to set the front and
rear audio outputs to the same value.
LOUDNESS FUNCTION
The Loudness function improves the
volume of the sound whilst listening at
low volumes, increasing the bass and
treble.
To enable/disable the function, use the
or buttons to select “Loudness”
from the menu.
The condition of the function (on or off)
is shown on the display for a few
seconds by the text “Loudness On” or
“Loudness Off”.

“FM/AM/MY EQ”/
“Classic”/“Rock”/
“Jazz” functions
(enable/disable the
equalizer)
You can enable/disable the built-in
equalizer. When the equalizer function
is off, the audio settings can only be
changed by adjusting the bass and
treble settings, whereas when the
function is on, the acoustic curves can
be adjusted. To turn the equalizer off,
use the or buttons to select
“EQ Preset” from the menu.
To enable the equalizer, use the
or buttons to select one of the
settings:
❒ “FM/AM/...My EQ” (adjust the 7
user-editable equalizer bands);
❒ “Classic” (equalizer preset for
optimal classical music listening);
❒ “Rock” (equalizer preset for optimal
rock and pop music listening);
❒ “Jazz” (equalizer preset for optimal
jazz music listening);
When one of the equaliser adjustments
is activated the text “EQ” lights up.
MY EQ FUNCTION
(equaliser settings only
if My EQ has been
selected)
To make a custom equaliser setting,
use the or ▼buttons to go to
“My EQ” and press the MENU button.
A graph with 7 bars will appear on the
display, where each bar represents a
frequency. Use the or buttons to
select the bar to adjust; the selected
bar will start to flash and you can use
the or ▼buttons to adjust it.
Press the button again to save the
setting.
The display will show the currently
active source followed by “My EQ”. For
example, if the mode is “FM”, then the
display will show “My EQ fm”.
MENU
MENU button functions
Press the button MENU briefly to
activate the Menu function. The display
will show the first menu item that can
be adjusted (AF) (“AF Switching On”
on the display).
Use the or ▼buttons to scroll
through the Menu functions.
Use the or ▼buttons to change
the selected function setting.
The current status of the selected
function appears on the display.
The functions managed by the Menu
are:
❒ AF SWITCHING (ON/OFF);
❒ TRAFFIC INFORMATION (ON/OFF);
❒ DAB INFO CATEGORIES (only
available if the source is DAB):
enable/disable single category
(Financial, News flash, Program
info, Spec event, Sport report,
Warning, Weather Flash,
Transport Flash).
❒ REGIONAL MODE regional
programmes (ON/OFF);
❒ SPEED VOLUME (automatic
volume control based on the
speed);

❒ RADIO ON VOLUME
(enable/disable the radio volume
limit);
❒ AUX OFFSET (align the portable
device volume with that of the other
sources).
The AUX menu item is only enabled
if the radio detects that the AUX
cable is connected;
❒ RADIO OFF (switch-off mode);
❒ SYSTEM RESET
Press the MENU button again to exit
from the Menu function.
IMPORTANT The AF SWITCHING,
TRAFFIC INFORMATION and
REGIONAL MODE adjustments are
only possible on FM.
AF SWITCHING function
(alternative frequency
search)
With regard to the RDS system, the
car radio can function in two different
modes:
❒ “AF Switching On”: search for
alternative frequencies enabled
(“AF” appears on the display);
❒ “AF Switching Off”: search for
alternative frequencies disabled.
Proceed as follows to enable/disable
the function:
❒ press the MENU button and select
“AF Switching On”;
❒ press the / buttons to
enable/disable the function.
With the function activated the car
radio will automatically tune into the
station with the strongest signal that is
transmitting the same programme.
While driving, the same station can be
continuously listened to without having
to change the frequency when you
change zones.
Obviously, it must be possible to
receive the station that you are listening
to in the
area you are driving through.
“AF” will light up in the display when
the AF function is on.
If the AF function has been activated
and the radio can not receive the
tuned station, the radio activates the
automatic search during which the
wording “FM Search” will be shown on
the display (for technologically
advanced radios only).
With the AF function deactivated, the
remaining RDS functions, such as the
display of the station name, still remain
active.
You can only enable AF in the FM
bands.
NOTE Enabling AF also enables FM
following in DAB, where provided (the
radio switches automatically to FM
when the DAB signal is low and back
to DAB as soon as the signal is
available).
TRAFFIC
INFORMATION function
(traffic information)
Some FM
(FM-A, FM-B, FM-C) stations can
transmit information about traffic
conditions. The letters “TA” will appear
in the display in this case.
Proceed as follows to
activate/deactivate the TA function:
❒ briefly press the MENU button and
select “Traffic info”;
❒ press the / buttons to
enable/disable the function.
If the TA function has been activated,
the icon “TA” lights up on the display.
NOTE Traffic information is only
enabled when tuned to a station that
transmits the announcements.

WARNING If you enable the TA
function with an audio source other
than Tuner (Radio) (Phone or
Mute/Pause), the radio can perform an
automatic search, so when you turn
on the Tuner (Radio) source again, the
tuned frequency may be different from
the one previously selected.
With the TA function, it is possible to:
❒ only search for RDS stations in the
FM band that transmit traffic
information;
❒ receive traffic information;
❒ receive traffic information at a
preset volume even when the radio
is muted.
IMPORTANT In some countries there
are radio stations that, even with the
TP function activated, do not transmit
traffic information (the icon “TP”
appears on the display).
If the radio is tuned to the AM band,
when TA is enabled, it passes to the
last station tuned to the FM-A band.
The volume at which the traffic news is
transmitted depends on the playback
volume:
❒ playback volume less than
5: the traffic news volume is equal
to 5 (fixed value);
❒ playback volume greater than 5:
the traffic news volume is equal to
the playback
volume + 1.
If the volume is changed during the
traffic news, the level will not be shown
on the display; the new level will only
be maintained during the traffic news
in progress.
While traffic information is being
received, “TRAFFIC INFORMATION”
will appear on the display.
The TA function can be interrupted by
pressing any button on the radio.
REGIONAL MODE
function (reception of
regional broadcasts)
Some national broadcasters will
transmit regional programmes at
certain times of the day (that vary from

it possible to tune into local (regional)
broadcasters automatically (see EON
function paragraph).
Enable this function if you want the
radio to automatically tune into the
regional stations being broadcast on
the selected network.
Use the or buttons to
enable/disable the function.
The current status of the function
appears on the display:
❒ “Regional On”: function enabled;
❒ “Regional Off”: function disabled.
If the function is disabled and you have
tuned into a regional station
broadcasting in a given area, when
you enter a different area, you will
receive the regional station broadcast
in the new area.
WARNING If the AF and REG
functions are on at the same time,
once a border between two regions is
crossed, the radio may not switch
correctly to a valid alternative
frequency.

Radio Uconnect
SPEED VOLUME function
(volume change based
on speed)
This function automatically adapts the
volume level to the speed of the car,
turning up the volume when the speed
increases to maintain the ratio with the
noise level inside the passenger
compartment. Press the or
buttons to enable/disable the function.
The display will show
“Speed volume” followed by the
current function status:
❒ Off: function disabled
❒ Low: function enabled
(low sensitivity)
❒ High: function enabled
(high sensitivity).
AUX OFFSET function
(align the portable
device volume with that
of the other sources)
This functions lets you align the volume
of the Aux source, which depends on
your portable player, to that of the
other sources. To activate the function,
press the MENU button and then
select “AUX offset”.
Press the or buttons to decrease
or increase the volume
(set from –6 to +6).
RADIO OFF function
(ON/OFFMODE)
This function lets you choose between
two different radio switch-off modes.
Use the or buttons
to enable/disable the function.
The display will show the chosen
mode:
❒ “00 MIN ”: switch-off depends on
the ignition key; the radio turns off
automatically as soon as you turn
the key to the STOP position;
❒ “20 MIN”: switch-off is independent
of the ignition key; the radio remains
on for up to 20 minutes after you
turn the key to the STOP position.
SYSTEM RESET function
This function is used to restore all
settings to their preset factory values.
The options are:
❒ NO: do not reset;
❒ YES: reset to the default
parameters. During this operation,
the text “Resetting” appears on the
display. At the end of the operation,
the source does not change and
the previous situation will be
displayed.
