VIDEO ANALYTICS CORPORATION
ONVIFCameraSetup
ONVIFCamerasettingoptionsmayvaryslightly;thereforethereisnowayforustoprovideyouwithexactstepby
stepinstructions.Thisissimplyaguide/checklistyoucanchoosetogothroughtoinsureourFikeVideoAnalytics
®
ServercancommunicatewithyourONVIFcamera.
First:
1. Makesureyourcamera'sIPaddressiscompatiblewithyournetwork.Ifitisnot,changeit.
2. UsingyourONVIFcameramanual,makesureyourcameraissetupforONVIF.
3. ConnectcameratothenetworkandseeifyouareabletodiscoverthecamerausingtheFikeVideo
Analyticsvideomanagementsoftware.Ifyoucandiscoverthecameraandaddittothevideo
managementsoftware,you'redone.Ifyoucannotdiscoverthecamerapleaseusethechecklistbelowto
troubleshoot.
Troubleshooting:
1. Enterthecamera'sdefaultIPAddressintoawebbrowsertoaccesscamera'ssettings
2. Youmayneedtoupdatecamerafirmwaresoftware.Determinewhatversionisloadedontothecamera.
ThengotoONVIF'swebsite,http://www.onvif.org/ConformantProductsGoto'FindAProduct'Clickon
thecamera'smanufacturerandfindyourmodelcamera.Itwillshowyouwhatminimumsoftwareversion
isrequiredforONVIF.
3. Youcanchoosetoadd/changepasswordsforcamerasandifallowedsetitupwithAdministratorrights.It
isidealtohaveallthecamerasonyournetworksetupwiththesameloginusername/passworde.g.
(admin/axonx)soyouonlyneedtoenteritonceintothevideomanagementsoftware.Ifeverycamerais
setupwithadifferentlogin,youwillneedtoentereverycamera'sloginusername/passwordinthevideo
managementsoftwareinordertoaddthemtothesystem.
4. MakesurethetimezoneonthecameramatchesthesametimezoneontheNVRorSynchronizethe
camerawithcomputer(NVR)time.Mismatcheddatetimesettingsmayresultinauthenticationerrors.
5. MakesureallrelevantONVIFoptionsincameraconfigurationasdescribedincameramanufacturer’s
manualsareturnedon
6. ChangeIPAddresstodesirednewaddress(dhcporstatic)
7. RestartcameratoexceptthenewIPaddress
