of the Filtrete™ Ultra Quiet Air Purifier. Retain these

Intended Use:
The Filtrete™ Air Purifier is intended for indoor
household use, using only Filtrete™ brand filters and
standard 120V AC power. This air purifier has not been
tested with non-Filtrete brand filters, operated at
different voltages or used outdoors. Each of these
misuses could damage the air purifier and/or create
unsafe operating conditions.

Electrical Connection:
• Plug the air purifier into a 120V AC electrical outlet.
• This product is equipped with a polarized AC plug (a plug having
one blade wider than the other). This plug will fit into the electrical
outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet,
reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact qualified personnel to
install the proper outlet. DO NOT DEFEAT the safety purpose of this
polarized plug in any way.

Installation Requirements
• Plug the air purifier into a grounded, polarized electrical
outlet. Do not alter the ground plug or polarized
plug blades.
• Do not use the air purifier if the power cord is damaged.

This Filtrete™ Air Purifier from 3M comes complete with the
latest advances in air filtration technology in a stylish and trend
setting design.
Filtration:
Filtrete™ filters use proprietary technology to provide high filtration
efficiency and low airflow resistance—the end result is a highly
efficient air purifier that operates quietly.
This Filtrete filter has electrostatically charged fibers that can capture
particles as small as 0.1 micron. The electrostatically charged fibers
are most effective when your filter is new and clean. As particles
build up on the filter, they begin to cover up the charged fibers.
This will reduce the effectiveness of the filter at capturing additional
particles and can occur early in your filter's life. The time frame and
extent of the reduction will depend upon the actual use conditions in
the room in your home.
To maximize the air cleaning in the room that contains the air
purifier, we recommend that you clean and seal, as much as
possible, the room in which the air purifier operates; continue to
dust surfaces and vacuum on a normal schedule; and close all
windows and doors during operation.
Cleaning:
• Turn the air purifier off and unplug it before cleaning.
• The outside of the air purifier can be cleaned with a soft, clean
dampened cloth.
• The filtered air outlet on the top of the unit can be cleaned of dust
with a small, soft brush.
• If you wish to clean the inside of the unit, use only a dry, soft cloth
to wipe it down.

Features and Functions

IMPORTANT NOTE:
• Read and understand the operating manual before using the air purifier.
Turning the Air Purifier On/Off:
• Be sure the air purifier is properly plugged into a 120V AC outlet.
• To turn on the air purifier, rotate the control knob in the center of the top
grill in a clockwise direction.
• To turn off the air purifier, rotate the control knob in the center of the top
grill in a counter-clockwise direction.
Adjusting the Fan Speed:
• This unit has 3 fan speeds: low, medium and high. To increase the fan
speed, turn the control knob in a clockwise direction. To decrease fan
speed, turn the control knob in a counter-clockwise direction.

Air Purifier Use

• While holding the device in
place with one hand, release
the front cover with the other
hand by grasping and gently
pulling the cover toward you.
• Lift the filter cover and set
it aside.
• Remove the used filter by
placing your fingers in the
recesses at the top of the
filter and pressing the filter
frame down. The filter will
disengage from the top
holding lip and can be
pulled out.
• Dispose of the used
filter properly.

Filter Removal

• Remove the plastic wrapper
and paper insert on the air
purifier replacement filter.
• Be sure the filter is aligned
properly. The arrow on the side
of the filter should point toward
the air purifier when you install
the filter.
• Place the bottom edge of
replacement filter in the filter
slot and gently push the top of
the filter down in two places,
while pushing it forward. When
the filter clears the holding lip,
release the filter.
• Replace the front cover by
placing the bottom tabs of the
cover into the cavities in the
base of the air purifier. Push
the top of the cover towards
the device until the cover locks
into place.

Filter Replacement
• Dispose of the air purifier and
filters in accordance with local,
state, and federal regulations.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
• Replace the filter when the
filter change timer finishes
its countdown.
• Periodic inspection of the filter
for damage or blockage is

Use only FiltreteTM brand replacement
filters in this Air Purifier

If replacement filter doesn't fit:
• Check the model number to ensure the filter
matches the model number.
• Make sure that the bottom of the filter is placed and
centered on the protrusion at the bottom of the
filter opening.
• A small downward force is needed to place the filter
in the opening.
• Make sure that no foreign objects are blocking the
filter opening.
Air Purifier will not turn on:
• To turn on the air purifier, rotate the control knob
in the center of the air purifier top grill in a
clockwise direction.
• Be sure the air purifier is properly plugged into a
120V AC outlet.
• Be sure the air purifier is turned on.
• Check if the fuse is blown or if a circuit breaker has
been tripped.
Decreased airflow:
• Clean the air purifier to make sure that the air inlet
and filtered air outlet are free from blockages.
• Check the condition of the filter and, if dirty, replace
with a new filter.
Noisy operation:
• Check the condition of the filter and, if dirty, replace
with a new filter.
• Be sure that nothing is blocking the air inlet and
filtered air outlet.

Troubleshooting
• Do not modify or attempt to disassemble the air purifier.
• Except for filter replacement, the air purifier is not

• Disconnect electrical power before servicing the filter.

Filtración:
Los filtros Filtrete™ utilizan tecnología registrada para proporcionar
alta eficiencia en la filtración y baja resistencia en el flujo de aire. El
resultado final es un Purificador de aire para ambientes de alta
eficiencia que funciona silenciosamente.
El filtro Filtrete tiene fibras con carga electrostática que pueden
capturar partículas tan pequeñas como 0.1 micrón. Las fibras con
carga electrostática son más efectivas cuando el filtro es nuevo y
está limpio. A medida que las partículas se acumulan en el filtro,
comienzan a cubrir las fibras cargadas. De esta manera la eficiencia

Limpieza:
• Apague el purificador de aire y desenchúfelo antes de limpiarlo.
• La parte externa del purificador de aire se puede limpiar con un
paño suave, limpio y húmedo.
• Se puede limpiar el polvo de la salida del aire filtrado en la parte
superior de la unidad con un cepillo blando y pequeño.
• Si desea limpiar el interior del purificador de aire, utilice únicamente
un paño limpio, seco y suave.

Cómo encender/apagar el purificador de aire:
• Asegúrese de que el purificador de aire esté enchufado correctamente a
un tomacorriente de 120V CA.
• Para encender el purificador de aire, gire la perilla de control, ubicada en
el centro de la parte superior de la parrilla, en dirección a las agujas

• Para apagar el purificador de aire, rote la perilla de control, ubicada en

• Esta unidad posee 3 velocidades de ventilación: baja, mediana y alta.
Para aumentar la velocidad del ventilador, gire la perilla de control en
dirección a las agujas del reloj. Para reducir la velocidad del ventilador,
gire la perilla de control en dirección opuesta a las agujas del reloj.

• Mientras sostiene el
dispositivo en su lugar con
una mano, suelte la cubierta
delantera con la otra mano
agarrando y tirando
suavemente la cubierta hacia
su lado.
• Levante la cubierta del filtro y
déjela a un lado.
• Retire el filtro usado
colocando los dedos en los
recesos de la parte superior
del filtro y presione hacia
abajo la estructura del filtro.
El filtro se soltará del borde de
sujeción superior y se puede
separar.
• Deseche correctamente el
filtro usado.

Extracción de filtro

• Retire el envoltorio plástico y el
adjunto de papel del filtro de
reemplazo del purificador
de aire.
• Asegúrese de que el filtro esté
alineado correctamente. Al
instalar el filtro, la flecha sobre
el costado debe apuntar hacia
el purificador de aire.
• Coloque el extremo inferior del
filtro de reemplazo en la ranura
de filtro y empuje suavemente
hacia abajo la parte superior del
filtro en dos lugares, mientras lo
empuja hacia adelante. Cuando
el filtro despeja el borde de
sujeción, suelte el filtro.
• Para reemplazar la cubierta
delantera, coloque las lengüetas
inferiores de la cubierta en las
cavidades del purificador de
aire. Empuje la parte superior
de la cubierta hacia el
dispositivo hasta que la cubierta
encaje en su lugar.

Reemplazo de filtro
• Deseche el purificador de aire y
los filtros según las exigencias
locales, estatales y/o federales.
NOTA IMPORTANTE:
• Reemplace el filtro cuando el
temporizador de cambio de filtro
finalice su cuenta regresiva.
• Se recomienda realizar una

PRECAUCIÓN
Para este purificador de aire, utilice sólo
filtros de reemplazo de marca Filtrete™.

El filtro de reemplazo no encaja:
• Verifique el número del modelo para asegurarse de
que el filtro coincida con ese número.
• Asegúrese de que la parte inferior del filtro esté bien
colocada y centrada sobre la protusión en la parte
inferior de la abertura del filtro.
• Para colocar el filtro en la abertura es necesario realizar
una pequeña fuerza hacia abajo.
• Asegúrese de que ningún objeto extraño obstruya la
abertura del filtro.
El purificador de aire no enciende:
• Para encender el purificador de aire, gire la perilla de
control, ubicada en el centro de la parte superior de la
parrilla, en dirección a las agujas del reloj.
• Asegúrese de que el purificador de aire esté enchufado
correctamente a un tomacorriente de 120V CA.
• Asegúrese de que el purificador de aire esté
encendido.
• Verifique que no haya fusibles quemados ni
interruptores de circuito activados.
Disminución del flujo de aire:
• Limpie el Purificador de aire para asegurarse de
que la entrada de aire y la salida del aire filtrado no
tengan bloqueos.
• Verifique el estado del filtro y si se encuentra sucio,
reemplácelo por un filtro nuevo.
Funcionamiento ruidoso:
• Verifique el estado del filtro y si se encuentra sucio,
reemplácelo por un filtro nuevo.
• Asegúrese de que la entrada y salida del aire filtrado
no estén bloqueadas.

Solución de problemas
• No modifique ni intente desarmar el purificador de aire.
