IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Readandsavetheseinstructions.
AlwaysunplugtheCPAQA-20AirPurificationSystemwhenitisnotinoperation,while
theFiltersorUVCgermicidallampsarebeingchanged,andwhencleaning.After
servicingthisequipmentboththefrontandtopgrillassembliesmustbereinstalledin
exactlythesamemanneraspriortoremoval.Ifeithergrillisnotreinstalledproperlythe
CatalyticPureAirPortableAirPurificationSystemwillnotturnon.Thisis a builtin
safetyfeature.
BeforeusingtheCatalyticPureAirPortableAirPurificationSystemextendthepower
cordandinspectforanysignsofdamage.Donotusetheproductifthepowercordhas
beendamaged.
Warning- Thisapplianceisdesignedtobeusedona flatlevelsurface,andmaynot
workproperlyonanunevensurface.Toreducetheriskofelectricshockandinjury,do
notplaceina window.Alwaysplacetheairpurifieratleast12inches(30.48
centimeters)awayfromheatsourcessuchasstoves,radiators,orheaters.
DonotmovetheCatalyticPureAirPortableAirPurificationSystemwhileitisin
operation.
Alwaysunplugpriortomoving.
DonotimmersethePortableAirPurificationSysteminwater,aspermanentdamage
willoccur.Refertothe"PerformingMaintenance"sectioninthisowneroperationand
maintenancemanual.

TheCPAQA-20PortableAirPurificationSystemincorporatesuniqueair-purification
technologiesnotfoundinanyotherairpurifier.ThePCO-Cellpatentedcatalytic
technologysignificantlyreducesthepresenceofirritableandtoxicairbornegaseous
contaminantsproducedbycommonhouseholdcleanersandmaterials.
•A quiet,energy-efficientbackward-curvedimpellerthatmoves265cubicfeetofair
perminute.
•Anadvancedelectroniccontrolsystemthatmonitorsairquality,airflowandvolume,
filterandUVCgermicidallampreplacementtime.
•A five-stagefiltrationsystemwithgas-absorptionmediathatabsorbstoxicgas,
organichydrocarbons,exhaustfumes,formaldehyde,cleaningchemicals,lowlevel

diseaseinthehomeenvironment.ThepowerfulUVCgermicidallighthas150times
theultravioletintensityofbrightsunlightwhichkillsvirusesandbacteriaoncontact.
•Oxygenintheair,combinedwithphoto-catalytictechnologyandUVCgermicidal
ultravioletlight,oxidizesairborneimpuritiestoosmalltobefiltered-out.
ThePCO-Cellphoto-catalyticoxidationtechnologywhichhasreceivedsixpatentsfrom

INSTALLING THE CATALYTIC PURE AIR PORTABLE AIRPURIFICATION
SYSTEM
CAUTION
Thisproductisforindooruseonly.
Beforeunpackingtheproduct,inspecttheshippingcontainerforvisibledamage.Ifyou
feelthatyoumayhavereceivedtheproductina damagedcondition,notifytheshipper
orsupplierbeforeopeningthecontainer.Removetheproductfromtheboxandinspect
itfordamage.
Handleitcarefully.Donotdrop!
PlacethePurifierina locationthatwillnotrestrictairflowthrougheithertheairinletor
theairoutlet,thenplug-intheelectricalcordatthenearestelectricalwalloutlet.
NOTE: TheCPAQA-20airpurifier will perform a diagnostictestofindicatorlightsand
functions whenpluggedintothewall outlet. This will onlyhappen once unless the system is
unplugged from thewallandreinstalled.

WhentheUVCgermicidalultravioletlampison,theproductisreadyforoperation.

NOTE: The"AirQuality"LEDlightmayturnredonstartupuntilthesurroundingair
qualityimproves.WhentheairqualityLEDisred,theairflowis automatically
increasedby(2)powerlevels.Thelowestfanspeedcannotbereacheduntiltheair
qualitylightturnsorangeincolorandthenasairqualityreachesa safelevel.
3.Settingthefan speed andairvolumefortothecorrectroom size.
Pressthe"Fan Speed Button" (figure 1)untiltheLEDbar light underneath
"Air Exchange Level" reachesthedesiredairtreatmentrate.TheAirExchangelevel
guideisconvienentlylistedattherightsideoftheLEDbarlightsindicatingthe
lowestroomairexchangerateatthebottombarandthehighestroomexchangerate
atthetopbar.SelectingtheFanSpeedtothedesiredAirExchangeRatebarlight
indicatorwillkeeptheairvolumeatanoptimumlevel.
4. Pressthe "Sleep Mode Button" (figure 1)atnightifyoudesiretoreducefannoise.
ALEDlightwillilluminatetotherightsideofthebutton.Thiswillwillmaintain
constantairflowthroughthepurifierandreducefanspeedtoa minimum.Sincethereis
nomovmentintheroom,purificationrequirmentsaregreatlyreduced.
PresstheSleepModeButtonagaintoreturntothenormalairflowmode.
Monitoring Operation
Youcanalwaysmonitortheairqualityoftheroom.
Airqualityissensedinrealtimebythechemical-detectionsensor(seefigure1)which
continuallyevaluatesairquality.Airqualityisexpressedbyoneof(3)colorsontheair
qualityLEDlight.
1. indicatesgoodairquality.
2. indicatespoorairquality.
3.Redindicatesbadairquality.
NOTE: Airvolumeisautomaticallyincreasedby(2)fanspeedlevelswhentheair
qualityindicatorturnsred,andwillresettoa presetfanspeedwhentheairquality
indicatorturnsorangeandthengreen.
Itis normalfortheairqualityindicatortotemporarilyberedduringperiodsofhouse
cleaning, paintingorcookingmeals.

YoushouldkeepaneyeontheServicePanelwhichtellsyouwhenmaintenancewill
soonberequired.
WhattheServicePanelIndicatorLightsMean("Air Filters" and"UVLamp")
IndicatorlightsontheServicePaneltellyouifeithertheairfiltersorthegermicidal
ultravioletlampwillsoonneedtobecleanedorreplaced.
Air Filters IndicatorLight:
Thefiltershavea usefullifeofoneyearina typicalresidentialenvironment.
LEDlightisOn- Thefiltershavebeeninserviceforlessthan6 months.
LEDlightisOn- Thefiltershavebeeninserviceformorethan5 months.
•RedLEDlightisOn- Thepre-filterhasbeeninserviceforatleast6 months.Itis
timetoremovethefrontgrillandvacuumoffthetoppre-filtertomaintainmaximumair
flow.The pre-filter does notneedtoberemovedforvacuuming.
Replacethefrontgrilland press onlythe"Air Filters" reset button toresettimerfor
(6) moremonths.Whenboththe"Air Filters" and"UV Lamp" LEDservicelightsturn
redatthesametime,filtersandtheUVLamphavebeeninserviceforoneyearand
ALLneedtobereplaced.
UltravioletLampIndicatorLight:
TheUVCGermicidalUltravioletLamphasa usefullifeofoneyear(9,000hours)witha
one-monthgraceperiod.
LEDlightisOn- Thelamphasbeeninserviceforlessthan12months.
LEDlightisOn- Thelamphasbeeninserviceformorethan11months.It's
timetoordera newUVCGermicidalUltravioletLampandreplacementfilter.
•RedLEDlightisOn- Thelamphasbeeninserviceformorethan12months.The
UVCGermicidalUltravioletLampmaynotbeeffectiveandmustbereplaced.

PerformingMaintenance
Maintenanceincludesthefollowingprocedures:
•ReplacingtheultravioletUVCGermicidalUltravioletLamp
•Replacingthefilters.
Replacing theGermicidalUltravioletLamp
1. UnplugthePurifier'spowercordfromtheelectricaloutlet.
2. Usingindexfingers,squeezethelockingtabs(figure6)inwardstowardsthecenter
ofthe grill. Liftthegrillupandremove.

3.RotatetheUltravioletLampone-quarter turn, toptorear,(figure7)andremove
lamp.

4. InsertthenewUltravioletLampinplaceandinstallbyrotatingone-quarterturn(top-
to-front).
5.Replacethetopgrillremovedinpreviousstep2 bypressingitintopositionuntilit
locks. ThealuminumreflectormustbepositionedovertheUVCGermicidalUltraviolet
Lamp, nearestthefrontoftheunit(figure7a).
6.ResetUltravioletLamptimerbylightlypressingtherelatedRESETbuttononthe
ServicePanel(locateddirectlybesidethe"UV Lamp" LEDindicator)withtheendofa
papercliporsimilarnon-sharpitem.The"UV Lamp" LEDservicelightwillturnn,
andthe12monthtimerwillreset.ThiscompletesUVCGermicidalUltravioletLamp
replacementprocedures.

Replacing the Filters:
Whenboththe"Air Filters" and"UV Lamp" LEDIndicatorlightsturnred,bothfilters
andUVlamphavebeeninserviceforoneyearandshouldbereplacedwithin30days.
1. UnplugthePurifier'spowercordfromtheelectricaloutlet.
2. RestthePurifieronitsback(figure8)toaccessthebottomoftheunit.

5.Pulloutthetwofilters,individually,and
discardthem.

7.Installthenewpre-filter(labeledfirst
stage) intheremainingslotwithitswhite
orgreensidefacingupwards.
8.Replace grill. Slideupperendintogrillslot
andsnapthebottomintoplaceuntilit
locks.

similarobject.The"Air Filters" LEDlightwillturnandthetimerwillbereset.

RestorethePurifiertonormaloperationasfollows:

3.Productwhosewarranty/qualitystickers,Productserialnumberplatesorelectronicserialnumbershavebeenremoved,alteredor
renderedillegibleshallnotbecoveredunderthelimitedwarranty.
4. DefectiveProductmustbereturnedtoCompany,postageprepaid.

8.Productthathasbeensubjectedtomisuse,accident,shippingorotherphysicaldamage,improperinstallationorapplication,
abnormaloperationorhandling,neglect,fire,waterorotherliquidintrusionarenotcoveredbythewarranty.
