GETTING TO KNOW YOUR SNOWPLOW
MINUTE MOUNT® 2 SYSTEM
The Minute Mount 2 System from Fisher Engineering
continues to set the in ustry stan ar for etachable
snowplow esign. The quickest and easiest mounting
system available, the Minute Mount 2 is twice the
mount because it takes hal the time. The Minute
Mount 2 System shoul be installe accor ing to
instructions supplie . FISHER® outlets are traine to
perform this service an other services for this
snowplow.
Most of the snowplow mount can now be remove
easily from the truck when it's not being use for
plowing. By removing the hea gear, lift arm an lights
every time you remove the plow, you eliminate over
100 lbs. of weight on the front suspension an tires
resulting in less wear all year long! This also means
improve appearance of your four-wheel- rive or sport-
utility vehicle.
BLADES
The FISHER® snowplow incorporates a trip-e ge
esign. When the bla e strikes an obstacle, the lower
e ge trips back, compressing the springs on the back
si e of the bla e. When the obstacle is cleare , spring
tension is release an the e ge is returne to its
normal plowing position. Because the bla e itself
remains upright, plowe snow out in front of the bla e
stays put. A rigi bla e allows you to plow an stack
more snow quickly an easily!

The Insta-Act Hy raulic Power Unit elivers a fast an
uniform spee for lifting an angling. It raises the bla e
in approximately 3 secon s an angles si e to si e in
approximately 6 secon s.
The Insta-Act Hy raulic Power Unit's angling gives you
full control of the snowplow from within the cab. Two
single-acting hy raulic cylin ers hol the bla e at the
esire angle.
The Insta-Act Hy raulic Power Unit's valve manifol
inclu es two cushion valves to prevent amage to the
bla e or vehicle if an obstacle is hit at either en of the
bla e. When force against the bla e causes the
pressure in an exten e cylin er to excee set limits,
the cushion valve opens allowing oil to escape an the
cylin er retracts. Oil from the retracting cylin er flows
into the opposite angle cylin er as it exten s.

in snow an ice con itions. Remember when you rive
on snow or ice, your wheels will not get goo traction.
You cannot accelerate as quickly, turning is more
ifficult an you will nee longer braking istance.
Wet an har packe snow or ice offers the worst tire
traction. It is very easy to lose control. You will have
ifficulty accelerating. If you o get moving, you may
have poor steering an ifficult braking which can
cause you to sli e out of control.
Here are some tips for riving in these con itions:
l Drive efensively.
l Do not rink, then rive or plow snow.
l Plow or rive only when you have goo visibility for
operating a vehicle.
l If you cannot see well ue to snow or icy
con itions, you will nee to slow own an keep
more space between you an other vehicles.
l Slow own, especially on higher spee roa s.
Your hea lamps can light up only so much roa
ahea .
l If you are tire , pull off in a safe place an rest.
l Keep your win shiel an all glass on your vehicle
clean to see aroun you.

PLOWING SNOW
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS SPECIAL SNOW CONDITIONS
Hard-packed Snow
1. On bla es equippe with a shoe kit, raise the isc
shoes so that the cutting e ge comes into irect
contact with the pavement. Do not stack spare
spacers on top of shoe holder.
2. Use lowest gear to place maximum power behin
cutting e ge.
3. An angle bla e is more effective for removing
har -packe snow.
Deep Snow
1. Shear off top layers by plowing with the bla e
raise 3 to 4 inches for the initial pass.
2. Bite into the e ges using only partial bla e wi th
until job is cut own to size for full bla e plowing.
Rule of thumb:
6" snow may be plowe with entire bla e wi th;
9" with 3/4 bla e;
12" with 1/2 bla e.
Experience an "feel" are the best gui es.
3. When plowing eep snow, be sure to keep vehicle
moving.
4. Ballast is suggeste for maximum traction.
5. For increase traction use tire chains.
NOT : Only the driver should be in the vehicle cab
when the snowplow is attached.
1. Before plowing, make sure you know of any
obstructions hi en beneath the snow such as:
bumper stops in parking lots, curbs, si ewalk,
shrubs, fences or pipes sticking up from the
groun . If unfamiliar with the area to be plowe ,
have someone familiar with the area point out
obstacles.
2. If possible an you have goo visibility, plow uring
the storm rather than letting snow accumulate.
3. When you are stacking snow, begin raising the
bla e as you come close to the stack. This will let
the bla e ri e up the stack.
CAUTION
Wear a seatbelt when plowing snow. Hidden
obstructions could cause the vehicle to stop
suddenly resulting in personal injury.
CAUTION
Never plow snow with head out the vehicle
window. Sudden stops or protruding objects
could cause personal injury.
CAUTION
Plowing speed should not exceed 10 mph.
CAUTION
Flag any obstructions that are hard to locate
under snow to prevent damage to product or
property.
ANTIWEAR SHOE ADJUSTMENT
A just the antiwear shoes to provi e 1/4" to 1/2"
clearance between cutting e ge an surface. Place
the supplie spacer rings between the shoe bracket
an the bla e shoe to obtain this clearance. DO NOT
store unused spacers on top of the shoe holder.
CAUTION
Never stack snow with the blade angled. This
could damage the snowplow or the vehicle
bumper.
CAUTION
Do not store unused spacers on top of the
shoe holder. This could damage the blade.

CLEARING DRIVEWAYS
1. Hea into the riveway with the bla e angle an
plow the snow away from any buil ings. Wi en
riveway by rolling snow away from any buil ings.
2. If a buil ing is at the en of the riveway, plow to
within a vehicle length of the buil ing. Push as
much snow as possible off the riveway.
3. With a raise bla e, rive through remaining snow
to buil ing. Drop bla e an "back- rag" snow
away from the buil ing at least one vehicle length.
Repeat if necessary.
4. Back vehicle to the buil ing an plow forwar ,
removing the remaining snow from the riveway.
Check municipal or inances for proper isposal of
snow.
CLEARING PARKING LOTS
1. Clear areas in front of buil ings first. Drive up to
the buil ing with the bla e raise . Drop the bla e
an "back- rag" the snow away from buil ing.
When snow is away from the buil ings, turn the
vehicle aroun an push the snow.
2. Plow a single path own the center going the long
irection.
3. Angle the snowplow towar the long si es. Plow
successive strips lengthwise until area is cleare
an snow is stacke aroun outer e ges.
4. If snow is too eep to clear in above manner, clear
main traffic lanes as much as possible.
