INSTALLATION: The subwoofer is avirtually omnidirectional speaker, so it can be installed
in
almost any location. The subwoofer's deep bass performs best when it is installed
in
acorner
or
near awall. Since the low bass portion
in
audio
is
monaural,
only one subwoofer is necessary to
obtain asufficient low frequency effect.
This unit does not only enhance bass frequency response
of
sound output
in
your audio system,
but by reproducing the bass frequencies, the subwoofer permits your existing amplifier and
speakers to operate under less strenuous conditions, improving overall system performance.
Super bass frequencies reproduced by this unit may cause aturntable to generate ahowling
sound.
In
such cases, move this unit away from the turntable.
Caution concerning operation -An excessive input level to the subwoofer may impair the sound
quality
or
damage the unit. If you hear distortion coming from this unit, reduce the volume level.
Extremely loud playing
of
prerecorded bass heavy sounds can damage this speaker system.
CONNECTIONS: Before connection set the power switches
of
the amplifier and subwoofer to off.
Ifthe amplifier
or
receiver is equipped with asubwoofer pre-outjack, connect this to the line input
connection on the subwoofer using aRCAtype pin-plug. Ifthe amplifier
or
receiver is not
equipped with asubwoofer pre-outjack, connect the left and right front speaker level outputs from
your component to the speaker inputs on the subwoofer using speaker wire. When connecting
the subwoofer to the amplifier, be sure to always connect the "+" terminals to the "+" terminals
and the "-" terminals to the "-" terminals. Ifterminals are connected incorrectly, the amplifier may
be damaged.
