Overview
The MIMOlite module provides one analog or digital input and one relay output (isolated dry onta ts, NO-COM-NC) and an be ontrolled by Z-
WaveTM. The system in ludes a program swit h for Z-WaveTM in lusion/ex lusion and a status light (LED) for various indi ations.
Input SIG1 is an analog input, internally pulled-up to the MIMOlite supply voltage. The system allows trigger onditions to be set based on the
input voltage being inside or outside a user-defined range ( onfigured via Z-Wave). This provides great flexibility for apturing events in a wide
variety of appli ations. The trigger status of the input an be read via Z-WaveTM and/or an be automati ally sent to a onfigured node, typi ally
the Controller. In addition, a ount of the trigger events that have o urred for the input hannel is internally re orded (and stored in the ‘pulse
ount’) and is available to be requested or automati ally sent via Z-Wave. The urrent triggered/un-triggered status an also be read via Z-
Wave. The SIG1 input an be asso iated with up to two other Z-WaveTM devi es, su h that an asso iated devi e will automati ally turn on (or
off) based on the o urren e of a trigger event. Finally, the analog input hannel an be onfigured so that the analog input level (not just binary
trigger status) is periodi ally sent to up to two other asso iated nodes.
The output relay is typi ally ommanded via Z-WaveTM ommands. In addition, the user an onfigure the input SIG1 trigger ondition to be
mapped to the output relay. For example, Relay 1 an be automati ally turned on based on Input SIG1 being triggered. The relay a tivation an
be set via a jumper or via Z-WaveTM for either momentary or lat hed operation - see Installation se tion.

* MIMOlite functionality is based on wireless (RF) transmissions. Any wireless transmission can be subject to RF interference or loss-of-
communication. This interference or loss-of-communication may cause the unit to not operate as intended. You, the end-user, are responsible
for ensuring that the MIMOlite functionality and installation meet your desired requirements.
* Do not mount the MIMOlite inside a metal enclosure.
* Do not place MIMOlite on or near metal objects. This decreases range and or blocks wireless transmissions.
* Information provided in this manual is for your convenience and may be superseded by updates. The specifications and this manual are subject
to change without notice. It is your responsibility to ensure that the MIMOlite functionality meets your needs and specifications.
Using the MIMO ite in a Z-WaveTM Network
IN LUSION in (adding to) a network: 1) Set up the in lusion mode at the ontroller (for detailed dire tions, please refer to your ontroller user
manual); 2) If the LED has a periodi single blink, the unit will be automati ally in luded. Otherwise, the button has been previously pressed
and automati in lusion mode is no longer a tive. In this ase, briefly press the button on e and the ontroller will indi ate that the unit has
been in luded in the network. Also, the Status LED will blink when the in lusion ompletes. Inclusion and exclusion are always done at normal
transmit power mode.
EX LUSION from (removing from) a network: 1) Set up the ex lusion mode at the ontroller (for detailed dire tions, please refer to your
ontroller user manual); 2) Press the MIMOlite button and the ontroller will indi ate the unit has been removed from the network. The Status
LED will blink when the ex lusion ompletes.
ASSO IATIONS: On e in a network, your ontroller an be used to asso iate the MIMOlite with other devi es in the Z-WaveTM network, su h as
a light or remote audible alarm. Refer to your controller’s documentation on how to associate the MIMOlite with another device in your
network. The MIMOlite input supports five asso iation groups with a maximum of two asso iated devi es in ea h group.
Group 1: When the input is triggered/untriggered, a ommand is sent to turn on/off the devi e(s) asso iated with the input.
Group 2: The MIMOlite will periodi ally send a report indi ating the input’s analog voltage level.
Group 3: If a power dropout o urs, the MIMOlite will send a notifi ation (depending on available residual power)
Group 4: When the input is triggered or untriggered, a Binary Sensor report is sent to this group’s asso iated devi e(s).
Group 5: Pulse meter ounts will be sent to this group’s asso iated devi e(s).
STATUS INDI ATIONS: The MIMOlite provides a status light to indi ate various situations. As shown in the table below, the light blinks a
variable number of times, fast or slow, periodi ally or only on e.
Fast Blinks Slow Blinks Periodic? Description
1 Yes Network-Wide In lusion Mode (NWI mode is automati ally entered at
power-up when MIMOlite is not ‘in-network’)
2 No MIMOlite ‘in-network’ indi ation (after in lusion / power up)
4 Yes MIMOlite is not ‘in-network’ (after button is pressed during NWI mode or if
in lusion fails or after ex lusion)
1 Yes Power input has dropped out (voltage has dropped to below approx. 10.5V)
Input Ana og-to-Digita Characteristics
The input signal voltage onversion to Multilevel Sensor value (ADC reading or ount) is non-linear. A typi al onversion urve (Voltage to ADC
reading) is shown in the Te hni al Appendix on the FortrezZ website. These are the values returned via the Multilevel Sensor report in response
to a Multilevel Sensor Get request (or if asso iation Group 2 is set up). The onversion is a 12-bit onversion whi h allows values from 0 to 4095.
Input Configuration
The voltage onversion des ribed above also applies to the triggering onfiguration. Refer to the Te hni al Appendix for details on hanging the
triggering onfiguration. The default trigger onfiguration for the analog input, SIG1, is a threshold around 1V. That is, the input will trigger
when the level goes above approximately 1V and will untrigger when the level goes below approximately 1V. If the input is left open, the input
will remain triggered be ause of the internal pull-up resistor. The trigger ranges for SIG1 are very flexible and an be hanged to meet many
appli ation requirements. Refer to the Te hni al Appendix for details.

Output Configuration
The MIMOlite an be onfigured to automati ally turn the relay on when the input is triggered or a Z-Wave ommand an also turn the relay on.
The Configuration Command Class, Parameter 3, is used to set the input-to-relay mapping (See Te hni al Appendix). When input-to-relay
mapping is enabled, Z-WaveTM ommands to set the relay are overridden. The default for the relay is no input-to-relay mapping. Momentary vs
Lat hed relay operation is sele ted by jumper P5 on the ir uit board. The Momentary / Latched jumper is read only at power on when the
MIMOlite is not in a ZWave network. When the jumper is off, momentary (default 500ms) operation is sele ted. If desired, on e in-network, a
Zwave onfiguration ommand (Parameter 11) an be used to override the jumper setting. The momentary onfiguration an be set from
100ms to 25.5ms (approximate) in in rements of 100ms via the ZWave ommand (refer to the Te hni al Appendix).
Power Dropout
A periodi Power Dropout indi ation (see above table) is shown if the supplied power drops below approx. 10.5 Volts. Also, the MIMOlite
implements the Alarm Command Class, whi h provides an alarm report (Alarm Type = 0x08, Alarm Level = 0xFF) when the supplied power drops.
The MIMOlite sends the alarm report to the node(s) in Asso iation Group 3. After a power dropout alarm event, the MIMOlite sends an alarm
report (Alarm Type = 0x08, Alarm Level = 0x00) when the supplied power rises above approx. 11 Volts.
