Specifications
The freeGuard Capture 1000 appliance is an Internet content
recording device which allows organizations to capture, track and
report on Internet activities, such as: browsed web pages, web mail,
SMTP / POP3 and IMAP mail, IM (MSN, Yahoo Messenger, ICQ, AIM),
FTP and Telnet.
The freeGuard Capture 1000 can work as a powerful Email archiver
and an instant messaging archiver.
In today’s business environment, it is critical for all organizations to
maintain records of all electronic communications, including Emails
and Instant Messaging, and the freeGuard Capture 1000 will provide
easily accessible records, if and when they were needed.
The freeGuard Capture 1000 provides valuable information about
internal Internet usage and surfing patterns to Network Administra-
tors and employee supervisors. With the reporting and management
tools, it is quick and easy to limit the access to certain services, and by
monitoring employee activity, organizations can quickly improve their
productivity.

Supports Sniffer and Bridge modes
The freeGuard Capture 1000 may be installed in Sniffer or Bridge mode based on
each network’s requirement. In Sniffer mode, the device is connected to a switch
and supports mirror port functionality. In Bridge mode, the freeGuard Capture 1000
can be linked to a firewall or gateway, and to the internal network. With hardware
bypass funtionality the device ensures network stability in case of malfunction.
Records HTTP, SMTP, POP3, IMAP, IM, Web Mail, FTP and TELNET
Contents
Capture a multitude of various Internet content, such as: browsed web pages,
Emails including their attachments, IM content (MSN, Yahoo Messenger, ICQ, AIM),
FTP down/uploads, Telnet and BBS sessions.
Remote Backup
The appliance has the exclusive capability to do remote backups for selected
Internet services (ie HTTP, Email and FTP) through the built-in scheduler onto a
network share of file server or a NAS unit.
System Management
Configure and manage the device using the friendly Web management interface
(HTTP & HTTPS).
Group Administrator
Set up multi permission levels for each group of administrators and control access to
information. As each new group administrator is added, set different privileges
based on which records they need to view.
Virus-Infected Alarm
When a PC is noticed to be sending virus-infected packets which could compromise
the integrity of the company’s network, an alarm will be sent to the Network
Administrator. When the freeGuard Capture 1000 is used in Bridge mode, it can
effectively block “anomaly flow packets”.
Reporting of Daily Records for Specific Users
Capture and report on specific and comprehensive user’s activities on a daily basis.
User and Service records
The search function allows the IT administrator to quickly find specific users or
Internet services for monitoring purposes.
IP and / or MAC addresses User Name binding
User names are binded to IP/MAC addresses allowing IT Administrators to quickly
identify each users.
Remote Monitoring
By using the web management interface, company’s can search records at anytime,
from anywhere, and there is no additional software required.
IM / P2P Management
The freeGuard Capture 1000 can block access to certain services.
