IMPORTANT
Afterreplacingthefiltercartridge, itwillbenecessarytoreset thefilteruseup
indicatorthatislocatedontheiceandwaterdispenser(seeillustrationonpage7).
Pressthe"ChangeWaterFilter"pad.Iftheindicatorlightwasredoramber,youwill
needtopressthepadfor3-5secondstoreset.Ifthelightwasstillgreenyouwillneed
topressthepadfor10-12secondstoreset.Thelightwillflashonandoffwhenreset
iscomplete.Pleaserefertothecompletedispenseroperatinginstructionsattached
totheinsideofthefreezerdoor.

Changing the Filter:
Waterqualityvaries throughout the world. To ensurethe highest possible water
quality,changewaterfilterevery6months, or200gallons. Also,iffilterhasbeen
ina refrigerator thathas not beenin use forawhile (duringmovingfor example),
changefilterbeforereinstallingrefrigerator. Notedispensersystemwillalsooperate
withoutfiltration(withfiltercartridgeremoved).
Tochangefilter:
RefertoFigure1asneeded. Itisnotnecessarytoturnthewatersupplyofftochange
thefilter.
1.Set icemakerlever (wiresignal arm)to theOFF(up)position.
2.Hold filtercup firmly,and unscrew counterclockwise (Figure1). (Somewater
couldleak outas you removecup. Thisis normal.) Filtercartridge shouldcome
downwithcup. Ifcartridgeremainsinhousing,pulldowngently,whiletwisting
filterbackandforth.
3. Empty cup of any substance.
4.Thelargeo-ring(Figure1)thatsealsthefiltersystemsetsintheo-ringgroove
downinsidethecup.Shouldtheo-ringfalloutduringfiltercartridgereplacement,
simplyplace itback inthe grooveprior toscrewing thecup backin place.If the
o-ring becomes damaged, you will need to order one from the Consumer
AssistanceCenter.
5.Discardoldfiltercartridge.
6.Removenew filtercartridge frompackaging,and install.
7.Place filtercartridge incup.Theendwith thesmall o-ringshould beup, out
ofthecup.
8. Screw cup, with filter, back onto housing. DO NOT USE WRENCH TO REINSTALL
CUP.Filtercartridgewillself-alignascupistightened.Besurecupiscompletely
tightened with
PureSource Plus™
logo facing outward. DO NOT TIGHTEN PAST
STOP.
9. Set ice maker lever on the ON (down) position.
10.Checkforleaks.Openrefrigeratordoor.Wipeanywaterdropsfromthefiltercup.
Runaglassofwater.Ifthereisaleak,unscrewfiltercup,andreinsertthefilter
cartridge.CheckplacementoflargeO-ring(seeFigure1).Reinstallfiltercup,
makingcertainitistightenedcompletely.
11.Toconditionfilter systemandpurge airfromwater line,runseveralglassesof
water through waterdispenser.This will alsoassure that thepurest water
possibleis storedin watertank.
