6. General safety instructions for power tools
Please read all instructions and warnings carefully. Failure to follow instructions and warnings
may result in electric shock, fire, and severe injury. Please keep the instructions and warnings in a
safe place. The term "device" here means electrically operated devices, either mains operated
(with mains cable) or battery-operated (without mains cable).
Workplace
Always keep the work area clean, tidy, and well-lit. Untidy and dark regions are prone to accidents.
The device must not be operated in explosive areas, e.g., in the vicinity of flammable liquids,
gases, or dust. The device can cause sparks that can cause the dust or vapours to explode.
When working with the device, other persons, especially children, must always maintain a safe
distance. If distracted by others, you may lose control of the device.
Electrical safety
The mains voltage must always correspond to the corresponding specifications for the
current-voltage on the device's type plate. The power plug of the device must fit into the socket.
The pin must not be changed in any way. Do not use adapter plugs together with grounded
electrical devices. Unchanged plugs and suitable sockets reduce the risk of electric shock.
Avoid any physical contact with earthed surfaces, such as pipes, heaters, stoves, and
refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed. Keep the device
away from rain or moisture. Water entering the device increases the risk of electric shock.
Please do not use the cord to carry the device, hang it up, or unplug it from the wall outlet. Always
keep the cable away from heat, oil, sharp edges, or moving parts. Damaged or tangled lines
increase the risk of electric shock.
If you (must) work with the device outdoors, only use extension cables suitable for outdoor use.
Using an extension cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
If the device's operation in a humid environment cannot be avoided, always use an earth leakage
circuit breaker. The use of an earth leakage circuit breaker reduces the risk of electric shock.

Safety of persons
Be attentive, pay attention to what you are doing, and use caution when working with any
electrical appliance. Do not use the device if you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol,
or medication. A moment of carelessness while using the device can cause serious injury.
Wear personal protective equipment and always wear safety goggles. Wearing personal
protective equipment such as a dust mask, non-slip safety shoes, hard hat, or ear protection,
depending on the type and use of the device will reduce the risk of injury.
Avoid unintentional start-up. Ensure that the device is switched off before connecting it to the
power supply. If you have your finger on the switch when carrying the device or connect the
device to the power supply while it is switched on, this can easily lead to accidents.
Remove all adjustment tools or wrenches before turning on the device. An agency or wrench in a
rotating part of the machine can cause injury. Avoid any abnormal posture. Ensure that you stand
securely and maintain balance at all times. That allows you to control them better
the device in unexpected situations.
Always wear suitable work clothing. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep hair, clothing,
and gloves away from moving parts. Loose-fitting or lose clothing, jewellery, or long hair can
easily be caught by moving parts. If dust extraction and collection devices can be mounted, make
sure they are connected and used correctly. The use of such equipment can reduce dust hazards.
Use and maintenance of electrically operated devices
Do not overload the device. Only use tools suitable for your work. With the appropriate device,
you will work better and safer in the specified performance range.
Do not use a device whose switch is defective. A device that can no longer be switched on or off
is dangerous and must be repaired.
Please disconnect the power socket and remove the cordless high hedge trimmer before
adjusting the device, changing accessories, or putting it away. This precaution prevents the
machine from starting up accidentally.
Always keep unused devices out of the reach of children. Do not allow people who are not familiar
with this device or have not read it to use it. Electrically operated devices are dangerous if
inexperienced persons use them.

Maintain the device regularly and take good care of it. Check that the moving parts work properly
and do not jam, that parts are not broken or damaged so that the device's function is impaired.
Have all damaged components repaired before using the tool? Poorly maintained machines
cause many accidents.
Keep cutting tools (inserts) sharp and clean. Carefully maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting
edges are less likely to jam and are easier to handle.
Use the device, accessories, inserts, etc., according to these instructions. Take into account the
working conditions and the task to be performed. The use of electrically operated devices for
applications other than those intended can lead to dangerous situations.
Maintenance / Repair
Has your device repaired only by a qualified specialist company using original spare parts
or by our customer service? That ensures that the safety of the device is maintained.
