the preparations, the maintenance and the proper use
of the lawn mower. Familiarise yourself with the tool
before the first use and also have you introduced to
practical use of the tool.
SPECIFIC SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Carefully read all instructions on the mower and in the
manual before attempting to assemble and operate
the mower. Keep this manual in a safe place for future
reference, and consult it regularly.
Become familiar with all controls and their proper
operation. Know how to stop the mower and how to
disengage the power in an emergency.
In order to avoid contact with the blade or injury
caused by a thrown object, stay in the operating zone
behind the handles, and keep children and bystanders
at least 15m away from the mower while it is in
operation. Stop the motor immediately if someone
enters the mowing area.
Thoroughly inspect the area where the mower is to be
used. Remove all stones, sticks, wire, bones, toys,
and other objects that could be tripped over or thrown
by the blade. Thrown objects can cause serious
personal injury.
Plan your mowing pattern in such a way as to avoid
discharging material toward roads, sidewalks,
bystanders, etc. Do not discharge material against a
wall or obstruction. Doing so may cause the
discharged material to ricochet back toward the
operator.
Always wear proper eye protection in order to protect
your eyes while operating or performing any
adjustment or repair. Thrown objects that ricochet can
cause serious eye injury.
Always wear a face mask or a dust mask when
operating the mower in a dusty environment. Dress
properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry that
can get caught in moving parts. The wearing of
protective gloves and safety footwear is
recommended.
Many injuries occur as a result of the mower being
pulled over the operator’s foot during a fall caused by
slipping or tripping. Do not operate this mower in bare
feet, or while wearing sandals or lightweight (e.g.,
canvas) shoes. Do not hold on to the mower if you are
falling. Release the handle immediately.
Never pull the mower back toward you while you are
walking. If you must back the mower away from a wall
or an obstruction, first look down and behind in order
to avoid tripping, and then follow these steps:

BATTERY CHARGING INFORMATION
Charging rates for NiCad and/or Li-Ion NiCad and/or
Li-Ion battery charging rates are determined by the
time taken to fully charge the battery and are
determined by the charge current. The three most
commonly used charging rates are typically:
Fast charge.
Slow charge.
Trickle charge.
FAST CHARGE BATTERIES
The charging rates for fast charge batteries can vary
between 30 minutes and 90 minutes. The charging
rate for the battery supplied with a cordless power
tool is stated in the product manual.
S OW CHARGE BATTERY
The charging rates for slow charge batteries are
between 3 hours and 5 hours.
TRICK E CHARGE BATTERIES
The charging rates for trickle charge batteries are
between 7 hours and 9 hours.
IMPORTANT!
NICAD AND/OR I-ION BATTERY CHARGING
INFORMATION.
A WAYS FU Y DISCHARGE A NiCad and/or i-
Ion BATTERY BEFORE CHARGING AND NEVER
EXCEED THE CHARGING RATE TIME, EXCEPT
WHEN “CONDITIONING” A NEW BATTERY.
CHARGING PROCEDURE
When charging a new NiCad and/or Li-Ion battery it
should be fully discharged followed by a full charge
for the charging rate for the battery as stated in the
product manual plus 30 minutes.
This should then be followed by a full discharge and a
further full charge for the charging rate for the battery
as stated in the product manual plus 30 minutes. This
procedure will condition the battery and equalise the
cell voltages. Following this procedure will ensure the
optimum operation of the battery.
When repeatedly using the charger to charge a
number of batteries always allow the charger to cool
down before charging another battery. It is
recommended that the cooling down period is not
less than 30 to 45 minutes.
When charging a battery that has been discharged
during heavy use allow the battery to cool down
before charging. It is recommended that the cooling
down period is not less than 30 to 45 minutes.
NICAD AND/OR I-ION CHARGING & CHARGERS
NiCad and/or Li-Ion batteries need to be recharged
with a reasonable amount of care, largely because
they can be damaged by overcharging.
Overcharging can result in the battery temperature
and internal pressure to rise rapidly. This can cause
the cells to distort and lose electrolyte, and in extreme
cases where the internal pressure is extremely high
they can even explode.
This situation can also arise when an overcharged
battery is fitted to the product and is being used. In
order to avoid this extreme situation it is of vital
importance that NiCad and/or Li-Ion batteries are fully
discharged before charging and that the charge time
is not exceeded except when “Conditioning” a new
battery. Repeated charging of partially discharged
batteries could cause failure of one or more of the
cells.
SE F DISCHARGE
A lithium battery can self discharge and lose its stored
charge. Typically it can lose approximately 5% of its
charge in the first month after fully charging (when
stored at room temperature), and then loses it by a
further 3% per month. When stored at higher
temperatures the self discharge rate will be
accelerated.
BATTERY CHARGING INDOORS
This charger is designed to be used indoors. We do
not recommend that it is used inside your home.
Ideally batteries should be charged on a bench in a
workshop, garage or shed.
If the charging operation is to be carried out in your
home the area must be well ventilated and the charger
must be placed on a non combustible surface
ensuring that the ventilation slots are not blocked.
Never exceed the charging time except when
“Conditioning” a new battery, as this could damage
the battery and charger.
BATTERY DISPOSA
When the battery fails to charge or maintain its
charge, its usable life is exhausted. To preserve
natural resources, please recycle or dispose of the
battery pack properly. This battery pack contains
nickel-cadmium cells. Before disposal ensure that the
battery pack is fully discharged by operating your
cordless product then remove the battery pack from
the drill housing and cover the battery pack
connections with heavy duty tape, to prevent short
circuit and energy discharge which could result in a
fire. Do not attempt to open or remove any of the
components.
Consult your local waste authority for information
regarding available recycling and / or disposal
options.

CUTTING HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT
When shipped, the wheels on the mower are set to a
low-cutting position. Before using the mower for the
first time, raise the cutting position to the height best
suited for your lawn. The average lawn should be
between 1 1/2" to 2" (3.8 to 5 cm) during cool months
and between 2" and 3 1/2" (5 cm to 8.3 cm) during
hot months.
TO ADJUST THE B ADE HEIGHT
Remove key and battery pack.
The mower has one lever to easily adjust the cutting
height. There are 6 height settings.
1=30mm 2=40mm 3=50mm 4=60mm 5=70mm
6=85mm.
To increase the cutting height pull the height
adjustment lever out and move it up a notch, towards
the handlebar.
To decrease the cutting height pull the lever out and
move it down a notch, towards the engine, Fig.17.
After adjustment, ensure the lever is fully located in
the selected notch.
MOWING TIPS
Make sure the lawn is clear of stones, sticks, wires,
and other objects that could damage the lawn mower
blades or motor. Do not mow over property stakes or
other metal posts. Such objects could damage the
blade or be accidentally thrown by the mower in any
direction and cause serious personal injury to the
operator and others.
For a healthy lawn, always cut off one-third or less of
the total length of the grass. The average lawn should
be approximately 3.8 to 5 cm long during cool
months, and between 5 cm to 8.3 cm long during hot
months. If there is growth, the lawn should be cut in
the fall.
When cutting heavy grass, reduce walking speed to
allow for more effective cutting and a proper
discharge of the clippings.
Do not cut wet grass. It will stick to the underside of
the deck and prevent proper bagging of grass
clippings.
New or thick grass may require a narrower cut or a
higher cutting height.
Clean the underside of the mower deck after each use
to remove grass clippings, leaves, dirt, and any other
accumulated debris.
NOT : Always stop mower, allow blades to
completely stop, and remove the key before cleaning
unerneath the mower.
S OPE OPERATION
WARNING: Slopes are a major factor related to slip
and fall accidents that can result in severe injury.
Operation on slopes requires extra caution. If you feel
uneasy on a slope, do not mow it. For your safety, do
not attempt to mow slopes greater than 15 degrees.
Mow across the face of slopes, not up and down.
xercise extreme caution when changing direction on
slopes.
Watch for holes, ruts, rocks, hidden objects, or bumps
which can cause you to slip or trip. Tall grass can hide
obstacles. Remove all objects such as rocks, tree
limbs, etc., which could be tripped over or thrown by
the blade.
Always be sure of your footing. A slip and fall can
cause serious personal injury. If you feel you are
losing your balance, release the upper bail
immediately.
Do not mow near drop-offs, ditches, or embankments;
you could lose your footing or balance.
EMPTYING THE GRASS CATCHER (FIG.18)
Stop the mower and allow blades to completely stop.
Remove the key and battery packs.
Lift the rear impact protector.
Lift the grass collection box by its handle to remove
from mower.
mpty grass clippings.

aloitat sen käytön. Säilytä käyttöopas turvallisessa
paikassa myöhempää käyttöä varten ja lue sitä
säännöllisesti.
Perehdy kaikkiin painikkeisiin ja niiden toimintaan.
Opettele pysäyttämään ruohonleikkuri ja kytkemään
virta pois hätätapauksissa.
Terän koskettamisen ja sinkoutuvista kohteista
aiheutuvien tapaturmien välttämiseksi pysy
käyttöalueella kahvojen takana ja pidä lapset ja
sivulliset henkilöt vähintään 15 m päässä toiminnassa
olevasta ruohonleikkurista. Pysäytä moottori heti, jos
joku tulee leikkuualueelle.
Tarkasta leikattava alue huolellisesti. Poista kaikki
kivet, kepit, rautalangat, luut, lelut ja muut kohteet,
jotka voivat jäädä alle ja sinkoutua terästä.
Sinkoutuvat kohteet voivat aiheuttaa vakavia
henkilövahinkoja.
Suunnittele leikkuukuvio sillä tavalla, että vältät
leikkuujätteen tyhjentymisen teille, jalkakäytäville,
sivullisten päälle jne. Vältä leikkuujätteen tyhjentämistä
seinää tai estettä päin. Se voi aiheuttaa jätteen
kimpoamisen takaisin käyttäjää kohti.
Käytä aina kunnollisia suojalaseja silmien
suojaamiseen, kun työskentelet, teet säätöjä tai
korjaat laitetta. Sinkoutuvat esineet voivat aiheuttaa
vakavia silmävammoja.
Käytä aina kasvo- tai pölysuojusta, jos käytät
ruohonleikkuria pölyisessä ympäristössä. Pukeudu
asianmukaisesti. Älä käytä väljiä vaatteita tai koruja,
jotka saattavat tarttua liikkuviin osiin. Suosittelemme
suojakäsineiden ja turvajalkineiden käyttöä.
Monet tapaturmat johtuvat ruohonleikkurin tulemisesta
käyttäjän jalkojen päälle kaatumisen, liukastumisen tai
kompastumisen takia. Älä käytä ruohonleikkuria paljain
jaloin tai sandaalit tai kevyet jalkineet (esim.
kangaskengät) jalassa Älä pidä ruohonleikkurista
kiinni, jos kaadut. Vapauta kahva välittömästi.
Älä koskaan vedä ruohonleikkuria taaksepäin itseäsi
kohti, kun kävelet. Jos sinun täytyy peruuttaa
ruohonleikkuri seinästä tai esteestä, katso ensin
maahan ja taaksesi, jotta vältät kompastumisen, ja
toimi sen jälkeen seuraavasti:
• Astu taaksepäin ruohonleikkurista niin pitkälle, että
käsivartesi ovat täysin suorina.
• Varmista, että tasapainosi on hyvä.
• Vedä ruohonleikkuria taaksepäin hitaasti.
Älä käytä ruohonleikkuria mihinkään muuhun työhön
kuin siihen, mihin se on tarkoitettu. Älä pakota
ruohonleikkuria.
Tärinä on
tavallisesti merkki viasta.
Pysäytä moottori ja odota kunnes terä on täysin
pysähtynyt ennen kuin irrotat ruohonkerääjän tai
poistat tukoksen kourusta. Leikkuuterä jatkaa
pyörimistä muutaman sekunnin moottorin
sammuttamisen jälkeen. Älä aseta mitään kohtaa
kehostasi terän alueelle, kunnes olet varma siitä, että
terän pyöriminen on pysähtynyt.
Älä koskaan käytä ruohonleikkuria ilman kunnollisia
suojuksia, ruohonkerääjää, kytkinohjainta tai muita
turvalaitteita, jotka ovat kiinnitettyinä ja
toimintakunnossa. Älä käytä ruohonleikkuria, jos
turvalaitteet ovat vaurioituneet. Se voi aiheuttaa
tapaturman.
Älä pakota ruohonleikkuria. Se toimii paremmin ja
turvallisemmin sille suunnitellulla nopeudella.
Jos ruohonleikkuria ei käytetä, säilytä se sisätiloissa.
Ruohonleikkuri täytyy säilyttää sisätiloissa, kuivassa ja
lukitussa paikassa, poissa lasten ulottuvilta.
Ruohonleikkurin kunnossapito. Parhaan ja turvallisen
suorituskyvyn saamiseksi pidä leikkuureunat terävinä
ja puhtaina.
Jos ruohonleikkuri osuu vieraaseen kohteeseen, toimi
seuraavasti:
• Pysäytä ruohonleikkuri, vapauta kytkin.
• Irrota avain ja akku.
• Tarkasta vauriot.
Korjaa vauriot ennen ruohonleikkurin uudelleen
käynnistämistä tai käyttöä.
Älä lataa ruohonleikkuria sateessa tai kosteassa
ympäristössä.
