Quick Start Guide

1. GajShield UTM box is a multi-port network appliance.
2. Inter ace 1: is pre-con igured or LAN which has actory de ault IP 192.168.2.190.
3. Other ports can be used or WAN or DMZ. Apart rom Inter ace 1 no other ports are ixed. The usage o the ports
would depend on how the physical connection is terminated to the GajShield Appliance.
Example: I the WAN router has been terminated on Inter ace 2 then it would now become WAN.
4. Serial Port : This port is provided or accessing GajShield UTM via command line.

Network Planning Pre-requisites
Keep the ollowing pre-requisites ready be ore you start con iguring GajShield UTM.
NOTE: To a ccess Ga jShiel d via seria l port use Windows Hyper Terminal or Putty.

•To start the Quick Wizard, open any Web Browser and type the below mentioned URL.
https://192.168.2.190/admin/
•Log in with the user name superuser and password wonderdream.
•A ter log in upload the license ile into irewall, or the Quick Setup Wizard to initialise.
•Follow the on screen instructions to complete the basic installation.

Change your PC’s IP address to 192.168.2.100 and Subnet 255.255.255.0 or any IP address o 192.168.2.0/24
network series. Also check your PC gateway & DNS, i you are trying to browse the internet.
Example:- I your GajShield irewall IP is 192.168.2.190, use the same IP as your de ault gateway & DNS.

1. Above screen appears a ter logging onto the new GajShield UTM.
2. To avoid unauthorized use, GajShield recommends that you change the de ault
password to a more secure password.

3. Change Time Zone, System Date & Time according to your region.
4. Con igure LAN IP address & Netmask as per your local LAN network.

5. Enter ISP IP details under WAN Con iguration.
nterface Type: GajShield supports 3 types o network modes Standard, PPPoE Connection & DHCP.
i. Standard Mode
•P Address & Netmask enter IP details provided by your ISP.
•Next Hop P is ISP Gateway or router IP.
•MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) Insert maximum packet size, in bytes, that can be sent through the inter ace.
ii. PPPoE Connection
•P Address & Netmask select (Static / Dynamic) depending on your ISP settings.
•Next Hop P select (Static / Assigned by Remote) depending upon your ISP settings.
•Access Concentrator the PPPoE server name provided by the ISP.
•Service Name enter ISP name or details provided by service provider.
•Username / Password Insert username & password provided by ISP or PPPoE authentication.

NOTE: We recommend tha t you us e the de a ul t, 1500 bytes , unles s your network equipment requires a di erent
pa cket s i ze.
Note: Leave it empty i ISP does not provide a s erver name.

iii. DHCP Mode
•Choose DHCP, i your ISP uses DHCP server to provide WAN IP address.
6. Veri y the con iguration done using Quick Wizard, Click on Confirm i the data entered is correct,
or click on Previous or any changes in con iguration.

7. A ter you click on Confirm, settings are applied on GajShield UTM & below rules are added,
these de ault rules can be modi ied later i necessary.
You have now completed the Quick Wizard & your UTM is ready to go live.
