Status led indicators
The 3G-COM-G Communicator has a variety of leds that report dierent
status of the communicator.
These include leds to indicate WiFi network signal strength, 3G network
signal strength, server report results and monitoring station report
results.
Explanation of led indicators
There are two groups of leds, those that indicate the WiFi or 3G network
connection signal strength and those that indicate the results of WiFi
and 3G network data communications.
WiFi signal or 3G network led indicators
These leds indicate if the communicator is connected to a network.
If the communicator is connected to a WiFi network, the blue Led, that
represents the WiFi Antenna, shall indicate the strength by blinking
according to its signal level.
The number of ashes represents the signal level, 1 ash indicates a low
signal level and 5 ashes indicate maximum signal level.
If the communicator is not connected to a WiFi network, the red led “No
Signal” shall be on indicating that the communicator is not connected to
a WiFi network.
The 3G antenna instructions are the same as the above.

Communication Led indicators
The communicator is prepared to communicate through WiFi and
mobile data. In both cases, in the event there is a communication or
some kind of report, the result will be indicated through leds represen-
ting such communications.
In case of a report to the monitoring station or in residential format,
the result shall be represented through two leds, one representing a
successful report (ACK) or another indicating a failure in communication
(NAK).
When the communicator reports supervision to monitoring or to server
XXX, both leds will turn on simultaneously.
“Status” led
This led indicates the work mode according to the ashing speed.
If the led ashes slowly (1 second interval) it means that it is congured
to work in “DSC” mode, if the ashing is rapid (10 times per second) it
means that it is congured to work in the BUS-C485T.
“NET” Led
This led indicates the status of the mobile data network.

“AP ENABLED” button for more than 6 seconds, until all antennas and
communications leds blink together.
Remote control with 3G-COM-G/IP-500G
Communicators
The models mentioned above can be controlled through dierent
means.
In principle, the 3G-COM-G communicators allow communication
through mobile data, WiFi networks and text messages (SMS), while
IP-500G communicators allow communication only through WiFi
networks.
This allows the panels to be controlled through mobile apps and/or
SMS (traditional text messaging).
The modes are explained separately in the following sections.
Remote control with 3G-COM-G/ IP-500G Communica-
tors through the Garnet Control App
The panel control shall be conducted by any of the above mentioned
communicators through the Garnet Control App using Internet. This
means that both the 3G-COM-G /IP-500G Communicators and your
cell phone shall have a stable Internet connection through any of the
possible means.
You shall connect your mobile device with the App, if you are Adminis-
trator or Owner of the panel, you shall check the section “Activation
of telephones” of the installer manual or contact your installer and/or
monitoring company.
If you are Administrator or Owner and you wish to invite more users to
control the system, you shall go to the Community tag within the app
and invite the remaining users.
Remote control using 3G-COM-G Communicator
through SMS (Text message)
The panel control with 3G-COM-G Communicators can be done with
mobile data. However, if the communicator is not connected to Internet
because the chip has no mobile data or, if your telephone has the same
problem, the communicators allow the control to be performed through
text messages (SMS).

15
To such end, it is important to take into account the following
parameters:
• Cell phone number: We must know the telephone number of the
communicator to be able to send the messages.
• Partition password: This password shall be recorded in the congu-
ration of the communicator; depending on the password used we can
handle the dierent system partitions.
• Message syntax: We must respect the syntax shown in the chart
below to send text messages and to guarantee that the panel interprets
the message in a correct manner.
Format of commands: [s][password][s][command][s][parameter]
Where:
• [s] is a space
• [password] is the partition password programmed in the communicator
• [s] is a space
• [command] is the action we wish to execute
• [s] is a space
• [parameter] is the supplement of the action
Parameters
The possible parameters for the commands Inhibit and Disinhibit are:
