Important safety instructions
To protect you, your pet and your GateFeeder, please read the entire owner’s guide before
installing and using this product.
•To avoid any risk of fire or electric s ock, do not expose t e unit to rain, sources of splas ing
water and do not operate it wit wet ands.
•Place t e unit in a dry, well-ventilated place and never put anyt ing on top of or be ind t e
unit.
•Do not place t e unit near eat sources or expose it to direct sunlig t or excessive dust.
•Clean t e unit regularly following t e instructions in t e ‘Cleaning and care’ section.
•Only use GateFeeder for its intended use as a pet feeder.
•Only cats weig ing 5lbs to 20lbs s ould use t is product.
•Refer all servicing and repairs to qualified service personnel. Any modifications or c anges not
explicitly detailed in t is manual could void your warranty.

Product overview
W et er you are going away for a long weekend or simply going out, GateFeeder is an innovative
and cutting-edge solution to effortless pet feeding. T e perfect complement to your pet’s daily
routine, it uses a unique, collar-mounted Smart Tag to enable one designated cat access to food
wit in an enclosed space. It guarantees all food – canned, kibble, a special diet or medication – goes
straig t to t e rig t cat, w ile simultaneously keeping mess and odors contained.

GateFeeder provides your pet wit a safe, ygienic and private environment t at is tailor-made to its
eating abits. It eliminates competitive eating if t ere is more t an one pet in t e ouse old and
prevents neig bor ood animals from inviting t emselves to dinner.

GateFeeder can store and keep fres up to five days’ wort of food for an average cat. One meal of
canned food can be kept cool by means of an ice pack for up to 10 ours.

GateFeeder is t e brainc ild of an American pet owner, w o needed to give one of is cats a
medicated diet w ile keeping is ealt y pets at bay. Frustrated by t e lack of suitable products on
t e market, e took eig t years to devise, design and patent t e unique feeding solution you ave
recently purc ased or received as a gift.

Set up your GateFeeder in 4 quick steps
T e GateFeeder is designed for only one cat per feeder. In t is way, you can control w o eats t e
food.
Step 1 – Unpack your GateFeeder
To keep t ings simple, we ave assembled t e GateFeeder for you. Once you ave unpacked t e
GateFeeder, c eck t e following parts are included:
1. Hood
2. Base tray
3. Battery door (on t e base)
4. Gate
5. Gate lock
6. Stainless steel food bowl
Look t roug t e clear window on t e top of t e GateFeeder to view t is item.
7. Smart Tag
WARNING: All packaging materials, suc as tape, plastic s eets and wire ties are not part of t is
product and s ould be discarded.
Step 2 – Install the batteries
1. T e battery door is on t e base of t e GateFeeder. Use a ‘+’ ead screwdriver (i.e. P ilips) to
undo t e 6 screws. T en gently lift off t e battery door.
2. Insert 6 x AA alkaline batteries (not included) into t e battery compartment making sure t e
polarity (+/-) matc es t e markings in t e battery compartment.
3. Place t e battery door over t e battery compartment.
4. Insert t e screws and tig ten eac one to secure t e battery door firmly in place.

Step 3 – Clean your GateFeeder
To create t e most ygienic environment for your pet, we recommend t at you clean t is product
before first use.
1. Gently slide t e ood from t e base tray and put to one side.
2. Lift out t e food bowl. You now ave access to all t e product’s parts for cleaning.
3. Mix a biodegradable detergent wit warm water to create a soapy solution.
4. Take a soft clot and dip it into t e soapy water. T en wring t e clot so t at it is slig tly moist
and wipe all t e product’s parts.
5. To remove any soap residue, use a soft clot moistened wit warm water and wipe all t e
product’s parts.

Step 4 – Fill with food
1. Place t e GateFeeder at a convenient place inside your ome or in a covered areas outdoors.
2. If your GateFeeder is in a new location from your pet’s usual feeding place, make sure your pet
knows w ere to find it.
3. Take t e clean feeding bowl and fill it wit your pet’s daily kibble quantity or 1 portion of canned
food. T e food bowl olds a maximum of 6 cups of kibble food. To keep t e canned food fres
for up to 10 ours, place a small ice bag under t e feeding bowl.
4. Place t e full food bowl back into its slot.
5. Slide t e ood on until it clicks into place.

Using the GateFeeder
Most cats quickly learn ow to use t e GateFeeder w ile ot ers need a little encouragement and
may take a few weeks to accept it. Here are some useful tips and a step-by-step guide to elp your
pet get t e most out of t e GateFeeder. If your cat seems comfortable, you can skip a step or if it
needs a bit more time, t en repeat a step.
A – Finding the food
S ow your cat t e GateFeeder. Prop t e gate fully open
wit a c ock of wood or long pole so t e cat can go
inside. Let it explore and familiarize itself wit t e
GateFeeder and find t e food.
B – Opening the gate
Once t e cat is comfortable eating in t e GateFeeder,
remove t e gate prop and place masking tape (or similar)
over t e gate lock so t at it is in t e open position. T e
gate can now swing freely. Let your cat learn ow to open
t e door and become relaxed w ile eating wit t e gate
in place.
C – Using the Smart Tag
Attac t e Smart Tag to t e cat’s collar. Remove t e
masking tape so t at t e gate can be activated by t e
Smart Tag. T e cat must touc t e gate wit its ead to
activate t e Smart Tag signal and t en pus t e gate
open to access t e feeding area.
W en your cat as finis ed eating and leaves t e box, t e magnetic gate lock quickly closes and
makes sure ot er animals cannot access t e food.

Replacing the batteries
Your GateFeeder is powered by 6 x AA alkaline batteries (not included) so you can place it anyw ere
in your ome – inside or under a covered outdoor area.
T e red LED lig t flas es w en t e batteries are low and s ould be c anged wit in t e next 5 days.
To replace the batteries:
1. T e battery cover is on t e base of t e GateFeeder. Use a ‘+’ ead screwdriver (i.e. P ilips) to
undo t e 6 screws. T en lift off t e battery door.
2. Remove t e old batteries.
3. Insert 6 x AA alkaline batteries (not included) into t e battery compartment making sure t e

Important battery information
Non-rec argeable batteries are not to be rec arged. Rec argeable batteries are to be removed from
t e product before being c arged. Rec argeable batteries are only to be c arged under adult
supervision. Different types of batteries or new and used batteries are not to be mixed
.
Only
batteries of t e same or equivalent type as recommended are to be used. Batteries are to be
inserted wit t e correct polarity. Ex austed batteries are to be removed from t e product. T e
supply terminals are not to be s ort-circuited. Do not t row batteries into a fire. Remove t e
batteries if you are not going to use t e product for a long period of time.

Re-programming the Smart Tag
If t e Smart Tag does not open t e gate, is lost, damaged or replaced, you need to re-program it.
Replacement tags are available from www.GateFeeder.com.
T e GateFeeder stores up to 5 Smart Tags in its memory. If you lose a tag and later find it, you can
continue to use t is tag or put it in a safe place as a backup. W en more t an 5 tags ave been
programmed into your GateFeeder, t e oldest tag will be erased and replaced by t e newest tag.
To re-program the Smart Tag:
1. Quickly press t e MAPPING button for less t an 3 seconds and t e green LED will flas .
2. Wit in 10 seconds of t e green LED flas ing, place t e new tag in t e tunnel of t e GateFeeder
(t e tag reading area).
3. T e green LED will flas slowly 6 times to confirm t at t e re-programming of t e tag is
successful.
To test the Smart Tag:
1. Remove t e tag from t e tunnel. Wait a few seconds, t en move it back into t e tunnel’s tag
reading area and gently press it against t e gate.
2. You s ould see and ear t e gate’s lock pop out of t e way. You can pus t e gate inwards to
double c eck t at t e locking mec anism as unlocked. W en t e gate unlocks, your re-
programming as been successful.
3. If t e gate does not unlock and open, follow t e ‘To re-program t e Smart Tag’ instructions
again. Make sure you place t e new tag in t e tunnel of t e GateFeeder wit in 10 seconds of
pressing t e MAPPING button.

Cleaning and care
Protect your cat and keep it ealt y by regularly cleaning your GateFeeder w en it appears to be
dirty.
Important cleaning and care information
1. Clean all parts wit a soft, damp clot slig tly moistened wit water. If you are using soapy
water, we recommend t at you use biodegradable detergent.
2. Never immerse or spray t e unit wit water.
3. Do not use any type of abrasive pad, scouring powder or solvent suc as alco ol or benzene.
How to clean your GateFeeder
1. Remove all food from t e food bowl.
2. Gently slide t e ood from t e base tray and put to one side.
3. Take out t e stainless steel food bowl.
4. Mix a biodegradable detergent wit warm water to create a soapy solution.
5. Take a soft clot and dip it into t e soapy water. T en wring t e clot so t at it is slig tly moist
and wipe all t e product’s parts.
6. To remove any soap residue, use a soft clot moistened wit warm water and wipe all t e
product’s parts.
7. Fill up t e food bowl and place it back into its slot.
8. Slide t e ood on until it clicks into place.

Resetting your GateFeeder
If t e gate on t e feeder does not open, try resetting t e system by removing t e batteries and t en
re-inserting t em. You can also try putting in new batteries. If t is does not elp, please contact our
