Preparing and Operating the Gazelle
5
Safety Guidelines
•Models GZ1700 and GZ2000 are for use on a
AC110V, 60HZ circuit only. Gazelle models
GZ1720E and GZ2020E are for use on a AC230V,
50HZ circuit only.
•Models GZ1720E and GZ2020E: Extension cord
must be replaced only with CE approved power
cord from Amano Pioneer Eclipse. If the supply
cord in the handle is damaged, it must be replaced
by the manufacturer or authorized service agent or
a similarly qualified person in order to avoid
hazard.
• The grounded plug is to be mated with the correct
receptacle. This floor finishing machine must be
grounded while in use to protect the operator from
electric shock. The machine is provided with a three-
conductor cord and three-contact grounding type
attachment plug to fit the proper grounding type
receptacle. Make sure that the machine is connected
to an outlet having the correct configuration.
This is a commercial electric burnisher, use only on a
dedicated circuit. Do not use on circuits with other
electrical equipment. The minimum amperage of
the site electrical breakers should be as follows:
GZ1700/GZ2000- 20A, GZ1700C/GZ2000C - 15A,
GZ1720E/GZ2020E/GZ2020K - 10A.
Use only the extension cord supplied with the
burnisher. Do not use more than one extension
cord. The total length of the extension cord should
not exceed 50 feet (GZ1700, GZ2000, GZ1700C,
GZ2000C) or 25 meters (GZ1720E, GZ2020E,
GZ1720K).
DO NOT use an adapter between the cord connector
and the wall receptacle.
• Before plugging the machine into an electrical outlet, it
is necessary to check all external cords and connectors
for loose wires, cracking, aging or other damage. If
cord or plug is damaged, replace the cord before
further use.
WARNING OF POTENTIAL INJURY:
To reduce the risk of injury, unplug machine before
servicing.
CAUTION! Do not plug in or unplug the power cord
with wet hands.
DO NOT operate the buffer with wet hands or feet. This
increases the possibility of electric shock.
CAUTION! Always secure cord. Be careful not to trip
over the electrical cord.
DO NOT operate without sufficient cord “slack” or allow
cord to pull out of wall socket. Tugging on the cord
will cause wires to pull loose and pose an electrical
shock hazard.
WARNING! Do not allow the power cord to come into
contact with the rotating pad.
CAUTION! Never operate the machine without a
pad installed!
DO NOT install pad when the unit is connected to the
power source.
WARNING! Only use pads provided with the machine
or those specified in the Operator’s Manual. The
use of other pads may impair safety.
CAUTION! Never begin operation when the
handle is locked in its upright position.
CAUTION! Do not leave the machine in one spot while
the pad is spinning. This may damage the floor.
CAUTION! Releasing the grips while the pad is
spinning is dangerous. Always firmly grasp both
grips when operating the machine.
DO NOT place any weight on burnishing deck.
This will cause increased amp draw and may trip the
circuit breaker.
DO NOT stop and start machine repeatedly in rapid
succession. This will cause heat to build up and could
cause the circuit breaker to trip.
CAUTION! If you cannot reset the circuit breaker, or if
the circuit breaker stops the motor immediately
after starting operation, contact your nearest
Authorized Amano Pioneer Eclipse Service Center.
DO NOT buff over metal door trim or protruding objects.
This can damage the pad and cause personal injury
from flying debris.
DO NOT allow the machine to fall to the floor.
CAUTION! This machine is for dry floor buffing only.
Do not use for scrubbing with water or cleaner.
CAUTION! This machine is not suitable for picking up
hazardous dust.
WARNING! Large diameter pads provided specifically
for burnishing floors are not intended for general
polishing.
