DoorSurface. When cleaning
surfacesofdoor andoventhat
cometogetheronclosingthedoor,
useonlymild, nonabrasivesoaps
ordetergentsappliedwith asponge
orsoflcloth.
PowerCord. Ifthecord becomes
soiled, unplugand wash with damp
cloth. For stubbornspots, sudsy
watermaybeused, but becertain
torinse and dry thoroughlybefore
pluggingcord intooutlet.

escapewire forthe electriccurrent.
Thisapplianceisequippedwitha

The larger slotinthe adaptermust
bealignedwith thelarger slotinthe
wallreceptacle toprovideproper
polarity inthe connection ofthe
powercord.
Caution: Attachingthe adapter
ground terminal tothe wall
receptacle coverscrew doesnot
ground the appliance unlessthe
coverscrew ismetal, and not
insulated, and the wall receptacle
isgrounded through the house
wiring. Youshould havethe circuit
checked byaqualified electrician
tomake sure the receptacle is
properly grounded.
When disconnecting the power
cord from the adapter, alwayshold
the adapter with one hard. Ifthis
isno[done, the adapter ground
terminalisverylikely tobreak with
repeated use. Should this happen,

qualifiedelectricianbeforeusing
theappliance.
UseofExtensionCords
Becauseofpotentialsafetyhazards
undercertainconditions,westrongly
recommendagainsttheuseofan
extensioncord. However,ifitis
necessarytouseanextensioncord,
useonly a3-wireextensioncord
thathas a3-bladegroundingplug,
and a3-slot receptaclethatwill
acceptthe plugontheappliance.
The marked ratingofthe extension
cord shallbeequaltoorgreater
thanthe electrical ratingofthe
appliance (15amperes).
Suchextensioncords are obtainable
throughGeneral Electric service.
Ifyou do use an extensioncord
with your microwaveoven~the
interior light mayflicker and the
blowersound mayvarywhen oven
isinuse, Cook times may belonger
aswell.
