After adjusting the temperature controls,
allow 24 hours for temperatures (o stabilize.
Note: Turnin& the Fr&h Foocl control to
“O” also turns off refrigeration in the Freez-
er compartment.
Guide To Proper Temperatures: If acon-
tainer of milk is too warm or too cold to
your taste after being on the top shelf in
the Fresh Food compartment for aday,
adjust the Cold Control Dials accordingly.
If agallon of ice cream remains firm to the
touch after being in the Freezer for aday,
the Cold Control Dials are at the proper
setting. If the ice cream’s firmness is not
to your liking, adjust the dials accordingly”
Check aday after resetting either dial to
make sure new setting is providing the tem-
perature you desire.
If you advance the Freezer compartment
Cold Control Dial to “E” to freeze aquick
supply of ice cubes or alarge amount of
food, be sure to reset the dial to its pre-
vious setting within aday.

the weather is humid and if your kitchen is

left on the “normal” position [o save power

sary and close them as soon as possible,

of installation.)
Disconnect power cord fromwall recepta-
cle. Remove all foods and clemr interior,

tecxedor secured with tape. This prevents
dleir coming loose mrd causing clarnage.
Handfewith care; exterior should be pro-

The suggestions noted below apply (o the
operation of your household electric re-
fricera~or.The Generul Electric Compmry
recommends these safety precautions:
1. Ifyour old refrigerator isstillaround the
house but not inuse, be sure to remove the
doors. This wifIreduce the possibility of
danger to children.
2. Some refrigerators are equipped with
automatic icemakers. Do not place fingers
or hands on the automatic icemaking
mechanism while the refrigerator is
plugged in. This will prevent contact with
themovingparts of the ejector mechanism,
or with [he heating element that releases
the cubes.
3. The refrigerator should always be
pfugged into its own individual electrical
orrdet(115volt,60 cycle, single phase AC).
This isrwcommendedfor best performance
mrd to prevent overloading house wiring
circuits. which COUICIcause apossible fire
hazard from overheating wires.
USE OF EXTENSION CORDS—Because
of potential safety hazards under certain
conditions,westrongly recommend against
the use of mextension cord. However, if
you still elect to use an extension cord, it
isabsolutelynecessary that il be aULlisted
3-wiregrounding type appliance extension
cord and that the current carrying rating
of the cord inamperes be equal to or great-
er than tbe branch circuit size shown on
the rating nameplate of this appliance.
Such extension cords are obtainable
through your local service organization.
4. Repair or replace immediately all elec-
tricservice cords that have become frayed
or otherwise damaged. Do not use acord
that shows cracks or abrasion damage
alongitslength or ateither the plug or con-
nector end.
5. Never unpfug your refrigerator by pull-
ingon tbe wire.Always grip [he plug firmly
and pull straight out from the receptacle.
6. Do not operate your refrigerator in the
presence of explosive fumes.
7. Aburned-out light bulb might breuk
when being replaced. In order to avoid
contact with alive wire filament. it is rec-
ommended [hat the refrigerator first be un-
plugged when replacing alight bulb.
Note: Turning control to OFF position
does not remove power to the light circuit.
8. Alwuys remove the power cord from
walloudet before removing the base grille.
9. Don”trefreeze frozen foods which have
thawed completely unless you cook them
after they have thawed. The United States
Department of Agriculture in Home and
Garden Bulletin No. 69 says, “.. .if foods
have tbawed only partially and there are
still ice crystals in the package, tbey may
safelybe refrozen.. .Refrozen food should
be used as soon as possible.

not likely [o be fit for refreezing. Under
