WATERHEATERSAFETY
Under certain conditions hydrogen gas maybe produced in a water heater that has not been used for
two weeks or more. Hydrogen gas can be explosive under these circumstances.
If the hot water has not been used fi)r two _eks or more, prevent the possibility of damage or iqjm T by
turning on all hot water fimcets and allowing them to mn fi)r several minutes. Do this befi)re using any
electrical appliance which is connected to the hot water system. This simple procedure will allow any
built-up hydrogen gas to escape. Since the gas is flammable, do not smoke or use an open flame or
appliance during this process.

Wash Cycle
The wash cycle controls the length of the washing process. The knob can be turned in either
direction. Turning the Cycle Selector knob after starting a cycle will stop the washer and reset
the cycle to the new selection. Press START to begin the new cycle selection.

The Cycle Indicator Lights show what stage the washer is in. The wash time is the length of the
wash agitation. The 6 MIN light will remain lit during drain and spin. _._]_en the Selector knob is
set to a new cycle the Indicator Lights will flash momentarily, showing what stages the cycle will
go through. On models without an AUTO SOAK option, the SOAKlight will not light up.

• Uses the speed and water temperature of your selected wash cycle.
Topresoak a load without going straight into a wash cycle:

if desired.
• Three minutes of agitation is tollowed by up to 24 hours of soaking.

The Bleach Signal is a reminder signal that can be turned on to remind you to add
bleach at the proper time in the wash cycle. Adding detergent and bleach at the same
time reduces the elti_ctiveness of both the enzymes in the detergent and the chlorine in
the bleach. By adding bleach later in the wash cycle, you allow the detergent's enzymes
to remove dirt and stains first, and then provide a more etfective dose of liquid bleach
to whiten and sanitize veto" clothes.

ProperUseof Detergent
Add detergent and st;irt tile w;isher before adding
clothes so that tile dem_gent can work effectively:
Using too little or too much detergent is a common
ca use of laundry problems.
You can use less detergent if you have sott water;
a smaller load or a lightly soiled load.
Loadingthe Washer
I,oad dry items loosely, no higher than tile top
row of holes in tile washer basket. When loading
wet items make sure wm set tile load/water level
high enough to allow tile items to move freely.
Water level should just cover tile clothes. To add
items atier washer has started, push in Cycle
knob and submerge additional items next to tile
agitator. Close tile lid and pull Cycle knob out
to restart.
•Do not wrap long items like sheets or pants
around the agitator.
• Do not wash fabrics containing flammable
materials (waxes, cleaning fluids, etc.).
• Agitation will not start with the lid up.
