FOLLOWING:
A. Use this unit only in the manner intended
by the manufacturer. If you have
questions, contact the manufacturer.
B. Before servicing or cleaning unit, switch
power off at service panel and lock the
service disconnecting means to prevent
power from being switched on
accidentally. When the service
disconnecting means cannot be locked,
securely fasten a prominent warning
device, such as a tag, to the service panel.
Sufficient air is needed for proper combustion
and exhausting of gases through the flue
(chimney) of fuel-burning equipment to prevent
backdrafting. Follow the heating equipment
manufacturer’s guidelines and safety
standards such as those published by the
National Fire Protection Association (NFPA),
and the American Society for Heating,
Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers
(ASHRAE), and the local code authorities.
CAUTION—For general ventilating use
only. Do not use to exhaust hazardous or
explosive materials and vapors.
Use with approved cord-connection kit only.
This unit must be grounded.
WARNING—TO REDUCE THE RISK
OF A RANGE TOP GREASE FIRE:
A. Keep fan, filters and grease laden surfaces
clean.
B. Always turn hood ON when cooking at
high heat.
C. Use high range settings on range only
when necessary. Heat oil slowly on low
to medium setting.
D. Don’t leave range unattended when cooking.
E. Always use cookware and utensils
appropriate for the type and amount
of food being prepared.
• When flaming foods under the hood, turn
the fan on.
WARNING—TO REDUCE THE RISK
OF INJURY TO PERSONS IN THE
EVENT OF A RANGE TOP GREASE
FIRE, OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING*:
A. SMOTHER FLAMES with a close-fitting
lid, cookie sheet or metal tray, then turn

READ AND SAVE THESE
INSTRUCTIONS
CLEANING
Clean your hood with a mild detergent suitable for
painted surfaces. DO NOT USE ABRASIVE CLOTH,
STEEL WOOL PADS OR SCOURING POWDERS.
The fan assembly may be vacuumed. It is
permanently lubricated, and never needs oiling.
Fan Assembly Light Bulb Replacement
Remove the filter. Remove the two screws holding
the motor bracket to the range hood and unplug the
fan assembly. Be careful not to allow the fan
assembly to drop when the screws are removed.
The light bulb (not supplied with the hood) should be
75 watts maximum. Remove the light lens covering
the bulb by pressing the two extending tabs together
until they release from the retaining slots in the hood.
Filters
The hood is equipped with a ductfree filter. Remove
the filter by turning the filter retainer to one side. The
ductfree filter is not washable, and will last up to
twelve months with normal use. Replace the filter
when the colored side becomes noticeably dirty or
discolored.
When installing the filter, make sure it slides under
the retaining tabs on the back of the fan housing.
MAKE SURE THAT THE COLORED SIDE OF
THE FILTER IS NEXT TO THE FAN WHEN THE
FILTER IS INSTALLED. Turn the filter retainer so
that the arrows on the retainer point toward the front
and back of the hood.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Controls
Always turn your hood on before you begin cooking
to establish an air flow in the kitchen. Let the hood
run for a few minutes to clean the air after you turn
the range off. This will keep the whole kitchen cleaner.
The fan and light are each controlled by a rocker switch.
LIGHT—The light switch has two positions, “ON”
and “OFF.”
BLOWER—The fan switch has three positions, “HIGH,”
“LOW” and “OFF.” (“OFF” is the middle position.)

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
PREPARE THE INSTALLATION LOCATION
Omit Step 1 if the hood will be installed under
cabinets with flush bottom.
1. Attach a wood filler strip at each side of the
recessed area under the cabinets. Use two
2.5 cm x 5 cm (1″x 2″) strips cut to length. If
the recess is deeper than 2.5 cm (1″), use thicker
strips. Attach strips with 3.2 cm (11⁄4″) wood
screws, 7.6 cm (3″) from each end of the strip.
2. Measure and mark the electrical wiring
opening in the wall or cabinet.
WARNING: When cutting or drilling into
the wall or a cabinet, be careful not to cut
existing electrical wiring.
3. Use 3.2 cm (11⁄4″) bit to drill the opening for
the electrical wiring.
4. Center the hood in the installation opening
and trace the keyhole slots onto the wood
filler strips on the cabinet bottom.
5. Screw four #10 x 7/8 wood screws into the exact
center of the narrow end of the traced keyhole
slots. Allow 9 mm (3/8″) of the screws to project,
so that the hood can be fitted into place later.
