receiveantennas.Theoutputsportsgrantupto32GPSreceivessignalaccessatonetime.
WhenenteringtheGNSSsignalsystemmanagementterminaltosettheIP,thesoftwarecandisplaythepowerof
eachport,thenumberofGPSvisiblesatellitesandthevalueofC/No,thenumberofBeidouvisiblesatellitesandthe
valueofC/No.
ThisproducttypicallyfindsapplicationwhereaninputfromanactiveGPSroofantennaissplitevenlybetween
thirtytworeceivingGPSunits.UsuallytheiRGS232isconfiguredwithan12Vinput(‐48Vtelecompowerinputalso
available).Inthisscenario,theiRGS232canbeconfiguredtopassDCfromanRFoutputtotheantennainputportin
ordertopoweranactiveGPSantennaonthatport.Outputports(J2‐J32)wouldfeaturea200OhmDCloadtosimulate
anantennaDCcurrentdrawforanyreceiverconnectedtothoseports.
Redundancyisacquiredthroughtheuseofaprimaryantennaandabackupantenna.TheabilityoftheiRGS232to
switchantennasallowsallconnectedGPSdevicestoremainfullyfunctionalintheeventofanantennafailure.The
iRGS232canmanuallyorautomaticallyswitchtheantennaport.FaultsareindicatedonthefrontpanelLEDandstatus
viaaDB9interface.
WithintheiRGS232isanantennahealthsensorandanembeddedantennaswitch.Thesensormonitorsthehealth
oftheprimaryantennaconnectedtothesplitter.Basedontheinformationprovidedbythesensor,thesplitterwill
automaticallyswitchtothesecondaryantennaintheeventofafailurewiththeprimaryantenna.
Ifthefailureintheprimaryantennaisresolved,thesplitterwillautomaticallyswitchbacktotheprimary.The
embeddedswitchhasbeendesignedsoitcanbecontrolledexternallyviaaDB9portoranexternaltoggleswitchthat
canoverridetheinternalautomaticswitchmechanism.
Antennaselectiondescription
Poweredhardware,thesoftwarebegantocalculatethesignalstrengthofantenna1andantenna2,after
comparingtheintensityofthetwoinputsignalsautomaticallyselectthehighsignalintensityoftheantennainput.
Whentwoinputantennasstrengthlessthan34dB,accordingtothenumberofswitchesandtheswitchingfrequencyof
switchingcontinuesuntiltheswitchingfrequencygreaterthan140times.Whenstartedwithagoodchoiceofantenna,
thesystemcontinuestosignaldetection,whenthesignalstrengthistoolowortheantennafailure,theautomatic
startingantennaselectionlogic.Holdingtheantenna1priority,itcandelaytheservicelifeoftheequipment.

Switchingfrequency:Switchthenumberoftimeslessthantentimes,thenswitchonceeveryminute.
