GENERAL SAFETY RULES
WARNING: Some dust created by power sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling,
and other construction activities contains chemicals known to cause cancer, birth
defects or other reproductive harm. Some examples of these chemicals are:
• Lead from lead-based paints.
• Crystalline silica from bricks and cement and other masonry products.
• Arsenic and chromium from chemically treated lumber.
Your risk from these exposures varies, depending on how often you do this type of work. To reduce your exposure
to these chemicals: work in a well ventilated area, and work with approved safety equipment, such as those dust
masks that are specially designed to filter out microscopic particles.

WORK AREA SAFETY
• Keep your work area clean and well lit. Cluttered benches and dark areas invite accidents.
• Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of
flammable liquids, gases, or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
• Keep bystanders, children, and visitors away while operating a power tool.
Distractions can cause you to lose control.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY
• Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any
adaptor plugs in any earthed (grounded) power tools. Double insulated tools are equipped with a polarized
plug (one blade is wider than the other). This plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not
fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install a polarized
outlet. Do not change the plug in any way. Double insulation eliminates the need for the three wire grounded
power cord and grounded power supply system.
• Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will
increase the risk of electric shock.
• Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces such as pipes,
radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is
grounded.
• Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool. Keep
cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged cords increase the risk of electric shock.
• When operating a power tool outside, use an extension cord suitable for
outdoor use. These cords are rated for outdoor use and reduce the risk of electric shock.
• Do not use AC only rated tools with a DC power supply. While the tool may appear to
work. The electrical components of the AC rated tool are likely to fail and rate a hazard to the operator.
PERSONAL SAFETY
• Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use
tool while tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication. A moment of inattention while operating
power tools may result in serious personal injury.
• Use safety equipment. Always wear eye protection. Safety equipment such as dust mask, non-skid
safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection for appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.
• Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from
moving parts. Loose clothes, jewelry or long hair can be caught in moving parts. Air vents may cover moving
parts and should be avoided.
• Avoid accidental starting. Ensure the switch is in the off position before plugging in. Carrying power
tool with your finger on the switch or plugging in power tools that have the switch on invites accidents.
• Remove any adjusting keys or wrenches before turning the power tool on. A
wrench or key that is left attached to a rotating part of the tool may result in personal injury.
• Do not overreach. Maintain proper footing and balance at all times. Loss of balance can cause an injury
in an unexpected situation.
• If devices are provided for connection of dust extraction and collection
facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used. Use of these devices can
reduce dust related hazards.
• Do not use an unstable support. Stable footing on a solid surface enables better control of the
tool in unexpected situations.
• Keep tool handles dry, clean and free from oil and grease. Slippery handles cannot
safely control the tool.
TOOL USE AND CARE
• Secure the workpiece. Use clamp or other practical way to hold the workpiece to a stable platform.
Holding the workpiece by hand or against your body is unstable and may lead to loss of control.

• Do not force the power tool. The tool will perform the job better and safer at the feed rate for
which it is designed. Forcing the tool could possibly damage the tool and may result in personal injury.
• Use the correct power tool for the job. Don’t force the tool or attachment to do a job for
which it is not designed.
• Do not use tool if switch does not turn it on or off. Any tool that cannot be controlled
with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired or replaced by an authorized service center.
• Turn power tool off, and disconnect the plug from the power source and/or battery pack
from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing the accessories, or storing the tools. Such
preventive safety measures reduce the risk of an accidental start up which may cause personal injury.
• Store idle tool out of reach of children and other inexperienced persons. It is
dangerous in the hand of untrained users.
• Maintain power tools with care. Check for proper alignment and binding of moving parts,
component breaks, and any other conditions that may affect the tool’s operation. A guard or any other part that
is damaged must be properly repaired or replaced by an authorized service center to avoid risk of personal
injury.
• Use recommended accessories. Using accessories and attachments not recommended by the
manufacturer or intended for use on this type tool may cause damage to the tool or result in personal injury to
the user. Consult the operator’s manual for recommended accessories.
• Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges
are less likely to bind and are easier to control.
• Feed the workpiece in the correct direction and speed. Feed the workpiece into a
blade, cutter, or abrasive surface against the direction of the cutting tool’s direction of rotation only. Incorrectly
feeding the workpiece in the same direction may cause the workpiece to be thrown out at high speed.
• Never leave the tool running unattended, turn the power off. Do not leave the tool
until it comes to a complete stop.
WARNING: USE OF THIS TOOL CAN GENERATE AND DISBURSE DUST OR
OTHER AIRBORNE PARTICLES, INCLUDING WOOD DUST, CRYSTALLINE SILICA DUST
AND ASBESTOS. Direct particles away from face and body. Always operate tool in a well-
ventilated area and provide for proper dust removal. Use dust collection system wherever
possible. Exposure to the dust may cause serious and permanent respiratory or other
injury, including silicosis (a serious lung disease), cancer, and death. Avoid breathing the
dust, and avoid prolonged contact with the dust. Allowing dust to get into your mouth or
eyes, or lay on your skin may promote absorption of harmful material. Always use properly
fitting NIOSH/OSHA approved respiratory protection appropriate for dust exposure, and
wash exposed areas with soap and water.
SERVICE
• Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only
identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
• Service your power tool periodically. When cleaning a tool, be careful not to disassemble any
portion of the tool since internal wires may be misplaced or pinched.

EXTENSION CORDS
Grounded tools require a three wire extension cord. Double insulated tools can
use either a two or three wire extension cord. As the distance from the power supply outlet increases, you must
use a heavier gauge extension cord. Using extension cords with inadequately sized wire causes a serious drop
in voltage, resulting in loss of power and possible tool damage. Refer to the table shown below to determine the
required minimum wire size.
The smaller the gauge number of the wire, the greater the capacity of the cord. For example: a 14-gauge cord
can carry a higher current than a 16-gauge cord. When using more than one extension cord to make up the total
length, be sure each cord contains at least the minimum wire size required. If you are using one extension cord
for more than one tool, add the nameplate amperes and use the sum to determine the required minimum wire
size.
Guidelines for Using Extension Cords
• If you are using an extension cord outdoors, be sure it is marked with the suffix “W-A” (“W” in Canada) to
indicate that it is acceptable for outdoor use.
• Be sure your extension cord is properly wired and in good electrical condition. Always replace a damaged
extension cord or have it repaired by a qualified person before using it.
• Protect your extension cords from sharp objects, excessive heat, and damp or wet areas.

RULES. If you use this tool unsafe or incorrectly, you can suffer serious personal injury!
WARNING: Hold tool by insulated gripping surfaces when performing an
operation where cutting tools may contact hidden wiring or its own cord. Contact with a
“live” wire will make exposed metal parts of the tool “live” and shock the operator!
• DANGER!
Keep hands away from cutting area and blade.
Keep your body positioned
to either side of the saw blade, but not in line with the saw blade. KICKBACK could cause the saw to jump
backwards. (See “Causes and Operator Prevention of Kickback”) Do not reach underneath the work. The
guard cannot protect you from the blade below the work. Do not attempt to remove cut material when blade
is moving.
CAUTION:
Blades coast after turn off. Wait until blade stops before grasping cut material.
• Check the operation and condition of the lower guard spring.
If the guard and the
spring are not operating properly, they must be serviced before use. Lower guard may operate sluggishly due
to damaged parts, gummy deposits, or a buildup of debris.
• Always observe that the lower guard is covering the blade
before placing saw down
on bench or floor. An unprotected, coasting blade will cause the saw to walk backwards, cutting whatever is
in its path. Be aware of the time it takes for the blade to stop after switch is released.
• Never hold piece being cut in your hands or across your leg. It is important to
support the work properly to minimize body exposure, blade binding, or loss of control.

• When ripping, always use a rip fence or straight edge guide. This improves the
accuracy of cut and reduces the chance for blade binding.
• Always use blades with correct size
and shape (diamond vs. round) of the arbor holes. Blades
that do not match the mounting hardware of the saw will run eccentrically, causing loss of control.
• Never use damaged or incorrect blade washers or bolts
.
The blade washers and bolt
were specially designed for your saw, for optimum performance and safety of operation.
• Causes and Operator Prevention of Kickback:
Kickback is a sudden reaction to a pinched, bound or misaligned saw blade, causing an uncontrolled saw to lift
up and out of the work piece toward the operator.
* When the blade is pinched or bound tightly by the kerf closing down, the blade stalls and the motor reaction
drives the unit rapidly back toward the operator.
* If the blade becomes twisted or misaligned in the cut, the teeth at the back edge of the blade can dig into
the top surface of the wood causing the blade to climb out of the kerf and jump back toward the operator.
* Kickback is the result of tool misuse and/or incorrect operating procedures of conditions and can be avoided
by taking proper precautions as given below:
> Maintain a firm grip on the saw and position your body and arm in a way that allows you to resist
KICKBACK forces. KICKBACK forces can be controlled by the operator, if proper precautions are taken.
> When blade is binding, or when interrupting a cut for any reason, release the trigger and hold the saw
motionless in the material until the blade comes to a complete stop. Never attempt to remove the
saw from the work or pull the saw backward while the blade is in motion or KICKBACK may occur.
Investigate and take corrective actions to eliminate the cause of blade binding.
> When restarting a saw in the work piece, center the saw blade in the kerf and check that teeth are not
engaged into the material. If saw blade is binding, it may walk up or KICKBACK from the work piece as
the saw is restarted.
> Support large panels to minimize the risk of blade pinching and KICKBACK. Large panels tend to sag
under their own weight. Supports must be placed under the panel on both sides, near the line of cut and
near the edge of the panel.
> Do not use dull or damaged blades. Unsharpened or improperly set blades produce narrow kerf, causing
excessive friction, blade binding, and KICKBACK.
> Blade depth and bevel adjusting locking levers must be tight and secure before making cut. If blade
adjustment shifts while cutting, it will cause binding and KICKBACK.
> Use extra caution when making a “Pocket Cut” into existing walls or other blind areas. The protruding
blade may cut objects that can cause KICKBACK.
•
Do not leave the tool running. Operate the tool only when hand-held.
•
When operating the tool from an elevated position
,
be aware of people or things
beneath you.
• Always hold the tool firmly in your hands before switching the tool “ON”.
The
reaction to the torque of the motor as it accelerates to full speed may cause the tool to twist.
• Wear eye and hearing protection. Always use safety glasses with side shields. Unless
otherwise specified, everyday glasses provide only limited impact resistance, they are not safety glasses.
Use only certified safety equipment; eye protection equipment should comply with ANSI z87.1 standards.
Protective hearing equipment should comply with ANSI s3.19 standards.
• Protect your lungs. Wear a face or dust mask if the operation is dusty. Following this rule will reduce
the risk of personal injury.

UNPACKING AND CONTENTS
IMPORTANT: Due to modern mass production techniques, it is unlikely the tool
is faulty or that a part is missing. If you find anything wrong, do not operate the tool
until the parts have been replaced or the fault has been rectified. Failure to do so could
result in serious personal injury.

ASSEMBLY AND ADJUSTMENTS
WARNING: Always be sure that the tool is
switched off and unplugged before adjusting, adding
accessories, or checking a function on the tool.
WARNING: 3-1/2” is the maximum blade
diameter for your saw. Never use a blade that is too
thick to allow the outer flange washer to fit properly
on the spindle. Using a blade that is too thick will
prevent the blade bolt from securing the blade on
the spindle. Larger diameter blades will contact
the blade guards. Either situation could result in a
serious accident.
CHANGING BLADES (FIG 2, 3, 4)
1. Unplug the tool from the power source.
2. Press and hold the spindle lock (14), release the clamping screw
(12) by using the Allen key provided (turn clockwise to loosen).
Remove the clamping screw, and outer flange (31).
3. Set the cutting depth to the maximum. (See “Setting the Cutting
Depth” section)
4. Press down the lock-off / plunge release button (1) to lift up the
base plate.
5. Lift blade up off spindle then pull from the tool to remove blade.
6. The installation of a saw blade is done in the reverse order.
7. Press the spindle lock button (until it engages) and tighten the
clamping screw firmly.
NOTE: The arrow on the saw blade must match the arrow
showing direction of rotation on the guard.
SETTING CUTTING DEPTH (FIG 5)
NOTE: Always maintain the correct blade depth setting. For all
cuts the blade depth should not exceed 1⁄4” below the material
being cut. Excessive blade depth increases the chance of saw
KICKBACK.
To Set the Cutting Depth
1. Release the cutting depth clamp (8).
2. Move indicator to the desired cutting depth.
3. Lock the cutting depth clamp to secure depth of cut.

INSTALLING RIP GUIDE (FIG 6)
When cutting lumber lengthwise you are usually cutting “with” the
wood’s grain rather then across the grain. Cutting “with” the grain
of wood is called “ripping” or a rip cut. Since rip cuts tend to be
lengthy it can be difficult to accurately follow the guideline the
entire distance of the cut. To assist the operator to obtain a straight
rip cut, a straight edge can be clamped to the work piece or the
supplied rip guide can be used. To install the rip guide on your saw,
perform the following steps.
1. Unplug the tool from the power source.
2. Insert the rip guide through all three slots in the saw base at the
front of the saw, starting with slot in the right side edge of the
base. See figure 6.
3. Slide the guide through the slots until it extends out the left
side of the base.
4. Adjust the rip guide for the desired width of cut and then
securely tighten the thumbscrew (11) in the center slot to hold
the rip guide in position.
WARNING: To avoid personal injury and
damage to the workpiece, extend the rip guide
through all slots in the base.
INSTALLING VACUUM ADAPTOR HOSE (FIG 7)
A vacuum adaptor hose has been supplied with the tool. When used correctly it can help remove dust, chips and
cutting debris away from the cutting area.
1. Connect the small end of the vacuum adaptor to the dust extraction port on the tool.
2. Connect the other end of the vacuum adaptor to the end of a vacuum hose.
MITER BASE ADJUSTMENTS
A miter base is included for making precise mitered cuts.
NOTE: The angle scale shows miter angles from 0° to 60° to
the left, and 0°to 60° to the right. The most common angles for
cutting operation (0°, 15°, 30° and 45°) are marked on the angle
scale.
To Adjust the Cutting Angle (FIG 8, 9)
1. Release the fence locking lever (20) by pulling it up.
2. To set the miter angle, slide the fence (19) along the miter angle
scale.
3. If the desired angle is one of the most common angles for
cutting, set the right edge of the fence align scale mark to the
required degree measurement on the angle scale.
4. If the desired angle is not one of the most common angles for
cutting, set the pointer of the display scale window align scale
mark to the required degree measurement on the angle scale.
5. Push down the fence locking lever to secure the angle.
6. Insert the workpiece and secure in place with the clamp.
To Adjust the Extension Fence (FIG 8)
1. The fence extension (25) can be extended to suit the length of workpiece.
2. Flip the tiltable support (22) out to support longer workpiece.

Repositioning the Miter Angle Scale and Base (FIG 10)
For increased versatility, the miter angle scale and base can be
fitted to either side of the track and positioned anywhere along
the length of the track.
1. Loosen the lock knob (26) underneath the miter base.
2. Slide the miter scale and base along the track to desired
position.
3. Fasten the lock knob to secure its position.
OPERATION
WARNING:
To reduce the risk of serious personal injuries, read and follow all
important safety warning and instructions before using this tool.
WARNING: Always be sure the tool is disconnected from the power source
before making any adjustments or setting up prior to cutting. Failure to disconnect or
unplug the tool may cause accidental starting, resulting in serious personal injury.
NOTE: Always check that the power supply corresponds to the voltage on the ratings plate.
STARTING AND STOPPING THE TOOL (FIG 11)
To Start the Tool
1. Press the lock-off / plunge release button (1) in and keep it
pressed.
2. Depress ON/OFF trigger switch (2) firmly to start the tool.
To Stop the Tool, release the ON/OFF trigger switch.
WARNING: The saw blade continues to
rotate after the tool is switched off.
RELEASING THE PLUNGE STOP (FIG 11)
1. Press the lock-off / plunge release button and keep it pressed.
2. Raise the body of the saw to plunge the blade into the workpiece.
NOTE: Pressing the lock-off / plunge release button unlocks the plunge cut mechanism so that the saw head
can be moved downwards, and the saw blade emerges from the tiltable protective cover.
USING THE LASER FEATURE
WARNING: Laser light can cause severe eye damage. Never look directly into
the laser beam. Do not point the laser beam at other people or animals, either directly or
through reflective surfaces.
The laser feature on your saw is powered by two LR44 1.5V
button batteries (installed). The Laser feature clearly shows you an
extended cut-line, even over debris on the work piece. Turn it on
with the laser light ON/OFF switch right before cutting. Turn it off
immediately after use to conserve battery and laser life.
FOLLOWING A CUT LINE (FIG 12)
Pointers (6a,6b) at the front and rear of the base plate allow you to
follow a pre-marked cut line in your workpiece.
APPLICATIONS
This tool is primarily intended for the sawing, longitudinally and transversely, of solid wood, chipboard, plywood,
aluminium, tile and stone held in a fixed position. Please note that the blade pre-installed in the saw as supplied
is intended for use with wood only. Any other use or modification to the device shall be considered as improper
use and could give rise to considerable dangers.

BLADE SELECTION (FIG 13)
Three blades are available for this saw. Each is for cutting different materials. Select the correct blade for your
applications.
24 teeth TCT Saw Blade (model: GAPCS351) is for cutting wood, plastic and other soft materials.
44 teeth HSS Saw Blade (model: GAPCS354) is for cutting drywall & non-ferrous metals.
Diamond Blade (model: GAPCS353) is for cutting tile, backerboard and cement.
GENERAL CUTTING
WARNING: Before using the tool, check that the retractable protective guard
can be used properly.
WARNING: Always cut in a forward direction. Never draw the tool backwards.
If you are a novice user, practice by cutting thin wood until proficient.
CAUTION:
To make sawing easier and safer, be sure to move the tool forward
in a straight line gently. Forcing or twisting the tool will result in overheating the motor
and dangerous KICKBACK, possibly causing severe personal injury.
It’s important to understand the correct technique for operating your saw and to learn what the correct and
incorrect ways for handling your saw are.
Equally important to working safely and realizing accurate cuts is correct preparation of the workpiece and work
area prior to making the first cut with the saw.
• Check the specifications to ensure the suitability of the material to be cut.
• Check the blade, make sure it is the correct one for the material to be cut, and it is sharp and not damaged.
• Set the cutting depth. (See “Setting the cutting depth” section)
• Place the material to be cut onto a flat surface such as a workbench, table or floor. Use a piece of scrap
material underneath if:
> You do not wish to damage the work surface.
> The work surface is likely to damage the blade. E.g. a concrete floor.
• Draw a cutting line along the desired path of cut.
• Securely clamp the workpiece so it will not move during the cut.
• Plug the tool into a power source.
• Grasp the tool firmly and rest its metal base plate onto the surface to be cut. Ensure that the rear half of the
base plate overhangs the work surface.
• Move and keep the cord away from the cutting area. Position the cord to prevent it from hanging up on the
workpiece and you from standing or tripping on the cord while cutting.
• Switch on the laser if necessory. Depress the lock off / plunge release button. Switch the tool on and wait a
moment for the blade to run up to full speed. Plunge the blade into the material slowly and gentaly, but firmly.
Then push the tool forward along the line to be cut.
NOTE: Never draw the tool backwards.
• Very little force should be used to feed the tool along the cut. Excess force will cause operator fatigue and
excessive wear to the blade and tool.
• Make sure that the base plate is always held flat on the material being cut. This is particularly important at the
start or finish of a cut or if thin strips are being cut where the base plate is not fully supported.
• Once the cut has been finished, lift the tool from the work surface before switching off. If a lot of dust has
been created, keep switched on for a few seconds extra to allow the dust to clear from within the tool.

POCKET CUTS (FIG 14)
A pocket cut is a cut that must be made inside the area of the workpiece rather than starting from an outside
edge and working inward.
NOTE: Plunge cutting may not be possible in some hard
materials.
• Choose a correct saw blade for the materials to be cut and
change to it. Set the cutting depth (See “Setting the Cutting
Depth” section). Mark the blade start cutting point and finish
cutting point on the metal plate. See FIG 14.
NOTE: The indent line marks on the side of metal plate
indicate the blade start cutting point (6d) and finish cutting point
(6c) when the blade is at its maximum cutting depth.
• Secure the workpiece firmly. Plug the tool into a power source. Place the metal base plate onto the work
surface. Make sure that the front V-shape indication mark on the base plate aligns with the cutting line (See
“Line Following” section). The blade start cutting mark needs to align with the starting line.
• Depress the lock-off / plunger release button. Switch the tool on and wait a moment for the blade to run up to
full speed. Plunge the blade into the material slowly and gently, but firmly. Then push the tool forward along the
line to be cut. (Never draw the tool backwards.)
• Once the finish cutting mark has reached the finish line, lift the tool from the work surface before switching
off. If a lot of dust has been created, keep switched on for a few seconds extra to allow the dust to clear from
within the tool.
• Pocket cutting tips:
I. If the cut is to be covered, for example by a vent cover, the corners can be overlapped to ensure that the
waste material is completely detached.
II. If the cut out is to be seen, do not overlap the corners. In this circumstance, as the cutting blade is circular,
the waste material will not be fully detached. The corners will therefore, require finishing with a knife or a
chisel. If the material is thin and the back surface unimportant, the waste material can just be pushed out.
III. Where there is access to the back surface of the material to be cut, the cut out can be marked out with an
over cutting allowance. The cut is then made from the back surface to ensure perfect corners on the front
surface.
CUTTING PARTICULARLY TOUGH OR ABRASIVE MATERIALS
Learn to use the tool by cutting wood before attempting to cut anything harder. When cutting harder material,
such as metals, more force is required to hold the workpiece and clamping must be required. Never cut materials
that produce toxic dust or fumes such as PTFE or asbestos.
Cutting Sheet Metal:
• Always set the depth adjustment to at least 1/16" deeper than the material thickness to avoid the blade riding
up over the surface. Scrap material is required underneath the work surface.
• Remove burrs and rust as these impede the feed across the material.
• Thick beeswax (furniture polish) applied to the base plate of the tool makes metal cutting easier.
• Only suitable for cutting brass, copper, lead, aluminum or galvanized mild steel.
• Every 2 minutes of metal cutting should be followed by a rest of at least 3 minutes.
Ceramic tile, slate etc:
• Only use the diamond blade specifically designed for this purpose.
• Always use with a suitable vacuum cleaner or dust extractor connected as the dust can be hazardous to the
operator and prevent the guard operating correctly.
Drywall & backerboard:
• The plunge saw is only recommended for making occasional pocket cuts in drywall and always us it with a
suitable vacuum cleaner or dust extractor connected. The dust can prevent the guard operating correctly.
• Conventional tools such as keyhole saws or knives generally give excellent results, though the plunge saw
can be used if a particularly neat, dust free cut is required or if there is a danger of cutting pipes or cables.

CUTTING WITH THE MITER BASE (FIG 15)
A Miter Base is included to make accurate miter cuts.
• Position the miter angle scale and base. Set the desired miter
angle. Adjust the extendable fence to support the workpiece.
Place the miter base on a flat surface.
• Draw a desired cutting line on the workpiece.
• Insert the workpiece in the miter base. The reference edge
needs to be tight against the miter fence.
• Choose the correct saw blade for the material to be cut and
change to it. Set the blade cutting depth (See “Setting the
Cutting Depth” section) to the maximum 1-1/8". Place the
saw on the miter base guide rails.
• Turn on the laser. Adjust the workpiece to make sure the laser aligns with the desired the cutting line. Secure
the workpiece in place with the clamp.
• Depress the lock off / plunge release button. Switch the tool on and wait a moment for the blade to run up to
full speed. Plunge the blade into the material slowly and gently, but firmly. Then push the tool forwards along
the guide rails (Never draw the tool backwards).
• Once the finish line has been reached, keep switched on for a few seconds extra to allow the dust to clear
from within the tool.
CUTTING WITH RIP CUTTING TRACK (OPTIONAL) (FIG 16, 17)
An optional Rip Cutting Track System (GAPCS203) is available (not included) to make long accurate straight rip
cuts. To use the tool with the rip cutting track system, follow the steps below.
IMPORTANT! The workpiece must have a flat surface. Otherwise the cutting process will not be stable
and will lead to poor cutting accuracy.
• Assemble the tracks.
• Stabilize the track on the workpiece.
• Mount the plunge saw in the track by inserting the edge of the
base plate into the slot on the track.
• Align the indicator line on the base plate to the cutting line
marked on workpiece.
• Secure the track by using the G-Clamps provided with the
track system.
• Plug the tool into a power source. Depress the lock off / plunge
release button. Switch the tool on and wait a moment for the
blade to run up to full speed. Next plunge the blade into the
material slowly and gentaly, but firmly. Then push the tool
forward along the track. (Never draw the tool backwards.)
• Once the cut has been finished, lift the tool from the work
surface before switching off.
• The rubber will be cut off during first cutting. This is normal.

MAINTENANCE
CLEANING
Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most plastics are susceptible to damage from various types of
commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use. Use clean cloths to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc.
WARNING: Do not at any time let brake fluids, gasoline, petroleum-based
products, penetrating oils, etc., come in contact with plastic parts. Chemicals can
damage, weaken or destroy plastic which may result in serious personal injury.
Electric tools used on fiberglass material, wallboard, spackling compounds, or plaster are subject to accelerated
wear and possible premature failure because the fiberglass chips and grindings are highly abrasive to bearings,
brushes, commutators, etc. Consequently, we do not recommended using this tool for extended work on these
types of materials. However, if you do work with any of these materials, it is extremely important to clean the tool
using compressed air.

This tool is permanently lubricated at the factory and requires no additional lubrication.

LIEU DE TRAVAIL:
• Gardez propre la zone de travail. Les zones et établis en désordre attirent les accidents.
• Ne pas utiliser d’outils électriques dans des atmosphères explosives, par
exemple en présence de liquidés, gaz ou poussières inflammables. Les outils électriques produisent des
étincelles risquant d’enflammer les poussières ou vapeurs.
• Garder les badauds, enfants et visiteurs à l’écart pendant l’utilisation d’un
outil électrique. Les distractions peuvent causer une perdre le contrôle.
SÉCURITÉ ÉLECTRIQUE
• La puissance des bouchons outil doit correspondre à la prise électrique. Ne jamais
modifier la prise en aucune façon. Ne pas utiliser d'adaptateur de bouchons dans toute la terre (la terre) les
outils électriques. Les outils à double isolation sont équipés d’une fiche polarisée (une broche est plus large
que l’autre).. Cette fiche ne peut être branchée sur une prise polarisée que dans un seul sens. Si la fiche ne
peut pas être insérée dans la prise, l’inverser. Si vous ne pouvez toujours pas être l’insérer, faire installer
une prise polarisée par un électricien qualifié. Ne pas modifier la fiche, de quelque façon que ce soit. La
double isolation élimine le besoin de cordon d’alimentation à trois fils et d’un circuit secteur mis à la terre.
• NE PAS exposer les outils électriques à la pluie ou l’humidité. La pénétration
d’eau dans ces outils accroît le risque de choc électrique.
• Éviter tout contact du corps avec des surfaces mises à la terre, telles que
tuyaux, radiateurs, cuisinières et réfrigérateurs. Le risqué de choc électrique est accru lorsque le corps est
mis à la terre.
• NE PAS maltraiter le cordon d’alimentation. Ne jamais utiliser le cordon d’alimentation
pour transporter l’outil et ne jamais débrancher ce dernier en tirant sur le cordon. Garder le cordon à l’écart
de la chaleur, de l’huile, des objets tranchants et des pièces en mouvement. Remplacer immédiatement tout
cordon endommagé. Un cordon endommagé accroît le risque d’électrocution.
• Lorsque l'exploitation d'un pouvoir en dehors des outils, l'utilisation d'une rallonge
électrique pour une utilisation extérieure. Ces cordons sont prévus pour une utilisation à l'extérieur et de
réduire le risque de choc électrique.
• NE PAS utiliser l'AC notées les outils d'une alimentation en courant
continu. Même si l'outil semble fonctionner, les composants électriques de l'AC notées outil sont
susceptibles d'échouer et d'accroître le risque pour l'opérateur.
SÉCURITÉ PERSONNELLE
• Rester attentif, prêter attention au travail et faire prévue de bon sens lors
de l’utilisation de tout outil électrique. Ne pas utiliser cet outil en état de fatigue ou sous
l’influence de l’alcool, de drogues ou de médicaments. Un moment d’inattention pendant l’utilisation d’un
outil électrique peut entraîner des blessures graves.

• Évitez d'un démarrage accidentel. S'assurer que le commutateur est en position arrêt avant
de brancher po. De transport outil avec le doigt sur l'interrupteur ou de brancher des outils électriques qui
sont le commutateur invite accidents.
• Enlevez les clés et outils de réglage avant de mettre en marche. Les clés,
clavettes, déchets et autres débris peuvent être projetés à grande vitesse, et ainsi causer des graves
blessures.
• NE travaillez pas à bout de bras. Gardez une bonne posture et un bon équilibre en
permanence, un déséquilibre peut amener votre chute sur la machine en action, avec possibilité de blessure.

• SI dispositifs sont prévus pour la connexion d'extraction des poussières
et des installations de collecte, d'assurer ceux-ci sont connectés et utilisés correctement.
L'utilisation de ces appareils peut réduire les risques liés à la poussière. Ne pas utiliser l’outil sur une échelle
ou un support instable. Une bonne tenue et un bon équilibre permettent de mieux contrôler l’outil en cas de
situation imprévue.
• Maintenez l’outil sec, propre et sans huile ou graisse. Utilisez toujours un chiffon propre
pour le nettoyage. N’utilisez jamais de fluide pour freins, d’essence, de produits à base de pétrole, ni n’importe
quel type de solvant pour nettoyer l’outil.
UTILISATION ET ENTRETIEN DE L’OUTIL
• Sécurisation de la pièce à travailler. Utilisez des serre-joints ou un étau pour maintenir la
pièce travaillée quand c’est possible. C’est plus sûr que de se servir de sa ou ses mains et permet de garder
ses deux mains libres pour actionner l’outil. La perte de contrôle de la pièce travaillée peut entraîner des
blessures corporelles.
• NE forcez pas sur l’outil. L’outil effectuera la tâche de façon meilleure et plus sûre à la vitesse de
pénétration pour laquelle il a été conçu. Forcer sur l’outil peut éventuellement endommager la machine et
entraîner des blessures.
• Utilisez le bon outil pour la tâche. Ne forcez pas sur l’outil ou accessoire pour exécuter une
tâche pour laquelle il n’a pas été conçu. N’utilisez pas l’outil pour une finalité non prévue car vous risquez des
dégâts matériels et/ou des blessures corporelles.
• N’utilisez pas l’outil si son interrupteur de marche/arrêt fonctionne mal.
Faites immédiatement remplacer les interrupteurs défectueux par un centre de réparations agréé.
• Débrancher l’outil avant d’effectuer des réglages, de changer d’accessoire ou de
ranger l’outil. Ces mesures de sécurité réduisent les risques de démarrage accidentel de l’outil.
• Ranger les outils non utilisés hors de portée des enfant set des personnes
n’ayant pas reçu de formation adéquate. Entre les mains de personnes n’ayant pas reçu de
formation adéquate, les outils sont dangereux.
• Entretenir soigneusement les outils. Vérifier qu’aucune pièce mobile n’est mal alignée,
grippée ou brisée et s’assurer qu’aucun autre problème ne risqué d’affecter le bon fonctionnement de l’outil.
En cas de dommages, faire réparer l’outil avant de l’utiliser de nouveau. De nombreux d’accidents sont
causés par des outils mal entretenir.
• N’utilisez que des accessoires recommandés. L’utilisation d’accessoires et équipements
annexes non recommandés parle constructeur ou non prévus pour être utilisés sur ce type d’outil peut causer
des dégâts matériels et/ou des blessures corporelles pour l’utilisateur. Consultez le manuel d’utilisation pour
connaître les accessories recommandés.
• Maintenir des outils de coupe nette et propre. Bien entretenu avec des outils de coupe de
pointe sont moins susceptibles de lier et sont plus faciles à contrôler.
• Poussez la pièce à travailler dans la bonne direction à la bonne vitesse.
N’envoyez la pièce vers la lame le couteau ou la surface abrasive, selon la machine, que en sens opposé à
la rotation de l’outil de coupe. Une mauvaise présentation de la pièce dans le même sens que la rotation de
l’outil de coupe fait que la pièce est projetée à grande vitesse.
• NE jamais laisser l'outil en marche sans surveillance. Éteignez l'appareil. Ne laissez
pas l'outil jusqu'à ce qu'il arrive à un arrêt complet.

AVERTISSEMENT: L’UTILISATION DE CET OUTIL PEUT GÉNÉRER ET
BRASSER DE LA POUSSIÈRE ET D’AUTRES PARTICULES EN SUSPENSION DANS
L’AIR, COMME SCIURE, SILICE CRISTALLINE ET AMIANTE. Dirigez le flot de particules
hors de votre visage et de votre corps. Faites toujours fonctionner l’outil dans une zone
bien ventilée, et veillez à une bonne évacuation de la poussière. Utilisez un système
de collecte de poussières dans la mesure du possible. L’exposition aux poussières
peut causer des troubles respiratoires ou autres sérieux et permanents, incluant la
silicose (une sérieuse affection des poumons), le cancer et la mort. Évitez de respirer
la poussière et évitez un contact prolongé avec elle. Si vous laissez entrer la poussière
dans votre bouche ou vos yeux, ou se déposer sur votre peau, vous risquez de provoquer
l’absorption de matières dangereuses. Portez toujours une protection respiratoire
approuvée NIOSH/OSHA bien ajustée convenant à la protection contre les poussières, et
lavez les surfaces de peau exposées à l’eau et au savon.
SERVICE
• Demandez à votre outil électrique à être desservie par une personne
qualifiée en utilisant uniquement des pièces identiques. Cela permettra de s'assurer que la sécurité
de l'outil électrique est maintenue.
• L'entretien de votre outil électrique périodiquement. Lors du nettoyage d'un outil, faire
attention à ne pas démonter une partie de l'outil en raison de câbles électriques peuvent être égarés ou pincé.
CONSERVEZ CES INSTRUCTIONS
CORDONS RALLONGES
Les outils mis à la terre nécessitent un cordon rallonge à trois fils. Les outils à
double isolation peuvent utiliser des cordons rallonge indifféremment à deux ou trois conducteurs. Plus augmente
la distance depuis la prise d’alimentation, plus le calibre de la rallonge devra être important. L’utilisation de
cordons rallonges avec des fils mal calibrés peut provoquer une importante chute de tension d’entrée, d’où une
perte de puissance et de possibles dommages pour l’outil. Reportez-vous au tableau pour déterminer la taille
minimum requise pour les fils.
Plus le numéro de calibre de fil est faible, plus importante est la capacité en courant du cordon. Par exemple
un calibre 14 peut transporter un courant plus fort qu’un fil de calibre 16. Quand vous utilisez plus d’un cordon
d’extension pour obtenir la longueur totale, assurez-vous que chacun contient au moins le calibre minimum de
fils requis. Si vous utilisez un câble d’extension pour alimenter plus d’un outil, ajoutez les ampérages de leurs
plaques signalétiques et utilisez cette somme pour déterminer le calibre minimum des fils.
Conseils d’utilisation de cordons rallonges
•
Si vous utilisez un cordon rallonge à l’extérieur, assurez-vous qu’il est marqué du suffixe « W-A» (W seulement
au Canada), qui indique qu’il convient bien à une utilisation à l’extérieur.
• Assurez-vous que votre cordon rallonge est correctement câblé et en bonne condition électrique. Remplacez
toujours un cordon rallonge endommagé ou faites-le réparer par une personne qualifiée avant de l’utiliser.
• Protégez vos cordons rallonges des angles et objets tranchants, de la chaleur excessive, et des zones humides
ou mouillées.

provoquer une commotion électrique pour l’opérateur!
• DANGER!
Gardez les mains à l’écart de la zone de coupe et de la lame.
Placez
–vous d’un côté ou de l’autre de la lame de la scie, mais pas surtout pas dans l’alignement de la scie. Le
CHOC DE RETOUR pourrait provoquer un recul de la scie. [Voir « Causes des Chocs de Retour et Mesures
Préventives pour l’Utilisateur ]. N’étendez pas les mains sous la pièce devant que celle-ci ne soit découpée.
La protection ne peut pas vous protéger de la lame sous la pièce . N’essayez pas de retirer la matière
découpée quand la lame est en mouvement.
ATTENTION:
Les lames continuent de tourner après la mise hors tension de l’outil. Attendez l’arrêt
complet de la lame avant de retirer la matière découpée.
• Vérifi ez le fonctionnement et l’état du ressort de la protection inférieure.
Si
la protection et le ressort ne fonctionnent pas correctement, ils doivent être réparés avant toute utilisation de
l’outil. La protection inférieure peut fonctionner de façon lente en raison de pièces endommagées, de dépôts
collants ou de débris qui se sont accumulés.
• Assurez-vous toujours que la protection inférieure couvre la lame avant
de poser la scie sur un établi ou par terre Une lame qui tourne encore et non protégée peut avoir pour
conséquence un mouvement de recul de la scie, et couper tout ce qui se trouve sur son passage. Soyez
conscients du temps qu’il faut pour que la lame s’arrête une fois que vous avez relâché l’interrupteur à
gâchette.
• Ne tenez JAMAIS la pièce devant être coupée dans vos mains ou entre vos
jambes. Il est important que la pièce soit soutenue correctement afin de minimiser l’exposition du corps à
la lame, le pincement de la lame ou la perte de contrôle.
• Quand vous refendez, utilisez toujours un garde parallèle ou un guide de
coupe rectiligne. Cela permet une plus grande précision de coupe et réduit les risques de pincement
de la lame.
• Utilisez toujours les lames avec des trous d’alésage de la dimension et de la
forme adaptées ( angulaires ou ronds). Les lames qui ne correspondent pas aux éléments de fi xation de la
scie fonctionneront de façon erratique provocant ainsi la perte de contrôle de l’outil.
• N’utilisez jamais des rondelles ou des boulons endommagés ou inadéquats
.
Les rondelles et les boulons ont été spécialement conçus pour votre scie, afi n de consentir une performance
optimale et de garantir son utilisation en toute sécurité.
• Causes des Chocs de Retour et Mesures préventives pour l’Utilisateur:
Le choc de retour est une réaction soudaine à une lame de scie mal encastrée, coincée ou mal alignée et qui
provoque un soulèvement incontrôlé de la scie et un sursaut de la lame qui sort de la pièce et recule vers
l’utilisateur.
* Quand la lame est coincée ou pincée par le trait de la scie qui se referme sur elle, la lame se bloque et et
la réaction du moteur conduit à un brusque recul de l’outil vers l’utilisateur.
* Si la lame se tord ou est mal alignée pendant la coupe, les dents arrières de la lame peuvent pénétrer
dans la surface supérieure du bois et amener la lame à sortir du trait et à reculer brusquement vers
l’utilisateur.
