DANGER--Riskofinjury:
The suction fittings in this spa are sized to match
the specific water flowcreated bythe pump.Should
the need arise to replace the suction fittings, or the
pump, be sure the flowrates are compatible.
Never operate the spa ifthe suction fitting or filter
baskets are broken or missing. Never replace a
suction fitting withone that is rated less than the flow
rate marked on the original suction fitting.
DANGER--Riskofelectric shock:
Installthe spaatleast5 feet(1.5 meters) from all
metalsurfaces. As an alternative, a spa may be
installed within 5 feetofmetalsurfaces ifeachmetal
surface is permanentlybonded byaminimum #8
AWG solid copper conductor tothe outside ofthe
spa’s controlbox.
DANGER--Riskofelectric shock:
Do notpermitany externalelectricalappliances,
suchas lights, telephones, radios, televisions, and
etc., within five feet (1.5meters)ofthe spa.Never
attempttooperate anyelectricaldevice from inside
the spa.
HYPERTHERMIA DANGER:
Prolonged exposure tohotair or water can induce
hyperthermia. Hyperthermiaoccurs when the internal
temperature ofthe bodyreaches a level 3˚Fto 6˚F
above the normal bodytemperature of98.6˚F(or
2˚Cto 4˚Cabove 37˚C).While hyperthermia has
manyhealthbenefits, it is important not to allow
your body’s core temperature to rise above 103˚F
(39.5˚C).
Symptoms of excessive hyperthermia include
dizziness, lethargy, drowsiness and fainting. The
effects ofexcessive hyperthermiamayinclude:
Failure toperceive heat•
Failure torecognize the need toexitspaor hot•
tub
Unawareness ofimpendinghazard•
Fetaldamage in pregnantwomen•
Physicalinabilitytoexitthe spa•
Unconsciousness•
WARNING:The use ofalcohol, drugs, or medication
can greatlyincrease the riskoffatalhyperthermia.
WARNING--To reduce the riskofinjury:
The spa water should never exceed 104˚F(40˚C).
Water temperatures between 100˚F (38˚C)and
104˚F (40˚C)are considered safe for a healthy
adult. Lower water temperatures are recommended
for youngchildren and when spause exceeds 10
minutes.
Highwater temperatures have ahighpotentialfor
causingfetaldamage duringpregnancy. Women who
are pregnant, or whothinktheyare pregnant, should
always checkwiththeir physician prior tospausage.
The use ofalcohol, drugs or medication before or
duringspause maylead tounconsciousness, with
the possibilityofdrowning.
Persons sufferingfrom obesity, amedicalhistoryof
heartdisease, lowor highblood pressure, circulatory
system problems or diabetes should consult a
physician before usingthe spa.
Persons usingmedications should consultaphysician
before usingthe spasince some medications may
induce drowsiness while others mayaffectheartrate,
blood pressure and circulation.
