Functional description
The tripping atrix GKV 10x30 21 AM
EEaLDP 24VDC is a co ponent of a
generator protection syste . The tripping
atrix provides a transparent, easily pro-
gra able facility for co bining output
co ands of the trip outputs of individu-
al protection devices with plant ite s
such as the circuit-
breakers, de-excitation etc. The atrix
was developed for arshalling tripping
co ands of large power stations. With
its help, the tripping sche atic can be
te porarily changed, e.g. in case of a ge-
nerator circuit-breaker revision. If the soft-
ware atrix
incorporated in each generator
protection unit is used for arshalling the
tripping co ands, the arshalling in
the protection units ust be changed for
this purpose.
The tripping atrix assigns the tripping
signals arriving at the atrix colu ns
(fro the solid-state protection relays) to
the freely progra able atrix lines to
which the tripping odules are con-
nected.
Mode of Operation
The tripping atrix GKV 10x30 21 AM
EEaLDP 24VDC has 30 colu ns (for 30
signals fro protection units) and 10 rows
(for 10 signals to tripping odules)
Each of the 30 colu n signals ay be
connected twice by tap connectors.
High reliability diode plugs (black hand-
le) are used for progra ing the atrix,
the reliability being attained by generous
over-rating with respect to forward current
and reverse voltage.
The diode plugs are inserted fro the
front and enable any vertical colu n (sig-
nals fro the protection relays) to be con-
nected to any horizontal line so that the
tripping signals can be trans itted to the
tripping odule.
Each column has a LED for indicating
tripping co ands. The display is stored.
Each additional incoming tripping com-
mand received additionally sets a group
e ory, which, can be used for re ote
signalling and switching a rack la p.
All signals remain stored even when the
tripping channels are interrupted or when
the red central connecting plug is re o-
ved.
The memories can be reset directly by a
push-button "Reset" or by re ote reset.
The function of all LED’s ay be
checked by pressing the "LED-Test"
button.
The power supply of the relays and e-
ory functions is 24VDC and feed an ad-
ditional 5 VDC voltage for the LED func-
tion. The onitoring of the power supply
is done by two relay contacts.
A lockable plexi-cover inhibits
unauthorised access to the progra ing
atrix.
