Computermotherboardsand expansion cardscontainverydelicateIntegrated Circuit(IC)chips.To
protectthemagainstdamage fromstaticelectricity,you shouldfollowsomeprecautionswhenever
you workon yourcomputer.
1.Unplugyourcomputerwhenworkingon theinside.
2.Useagroundedwriststrap beforehandlingcomputercomponents.Ifyoudonothave
one,touchbothofyourhandstoasafelygrounded objectortoametalobject,suchas
thepowersupplycase.
3.Holdcomponentsbytheedgesandtrynottouchthe ICchips,leadsorconnectors,or
othercomponents.
4.Placecomponentsonagroundedantistaticpadoronthe bagthatcamewiththe
componentswheneverthecomponentsareseparatedfromthesystem.
5.EnsurethattheATXpowersupplyisswitchedoffbeforeyoupluginorremovetheATX
owerconnectoronthemotherboard.
If the motherboardhasmounting holes,buttheydon’tline up withthe holeson the baseand
thereareno slotstoattachthe spacers,do notbecomealarmed you can still attachthe spacersto
the mounting holes.Justcutthe bottomportion ofthe spacers(the spacermaybe alittlehardto
cutoff, sobe carefulofyourhands).Inthiswayyou can still attachthe motherboardtothe base
withoutworrying aboutshortcircuits.Sometimesyou mayneed tousethe plasticspringstoisolate
the screwfromthe motherboardPCBsurface,becausethe circuitwiremaybe nearbythe hole.Be
careful,don’tletthe screwcontactanyprinted circuitwriteorpartson the PCBthatarenearthe
fixing hole,otherwiseitmaydamage the boardorcauseboardmalfunctioning.

fora(golden)cutedge on the CPU
uppercorner.Then insertthe CPU
intothe socket.
3.Press downthe CPUsocket
leverand finishCPUinstallation.
M Please make suretheCPUtypeissupportedbythemotherboard.
M Ifyou do notmatchtheCPUsocketPin1and CPUcutedgewell, itwill cause
improperinstallation.Please changetheinsertorientation.

Step1-2:CPUHeatSinkInstallation
M Please use Intelapprovedcoolingfan.
M Werecommend you toapplythethermaltapetoprovidebetterheatconductionbetween
yourCPUand heatsink.
(TheCPUcooling fanmightstick totheCPUduetothehardeningofthethermalpaste.
During thiscondition ifyou trytoremovethecooling fan,you mightpulltheprocessorout
oftheCPUsocketalonewiththecooling fan,and mightdamagetheprocessor.Toavoid
thisfromhappening,wesuggestyoutoeitherusethermaltapeinsteadofthermalpaste,or
removethecooling fanwithextremecaution.)
M Make suretheCPUfanpowercableispluggedintotheCPUfanconnector,thiscompletes
theinstallation.
M Please refertoCPUheatsinkuser’smanualformoredetail installationprocedure.

the CPUfan connector,than install
complete.

Step2:Installmemorymodules
The motherboardhas3dualinline memorymodule(DIMM)sockets,butitcan onlysupporta
maximumof4banks ofDDR memory.DDR slot1uses2banks,DDR slot2&3sharethe remaining
2banks.Pleaserefertothe following tablesforpossiblememoryconfigurationssupported.The
BIOSwill automaticallydetectsmemorytype and size.Toinstall the memorymodule,justpushit
verticallyintothe DIMM Slot.The DIMM modulecan onlyfitinone direction due tothe notch.
Memorysizecan varybetween sockets.
DDR
1.The DIMM slothasanotch,sothe
DIMMmemorymodulecan onlyfitinone direction.
2. Insertthe DIMM memorymoduleverticallyintothe
DIMM slot. Then pushitdown.
3.ClosetheplasticclipatbothedgesoftheDIMM slots
tolock the DIMM module.
Reversethe installation stepswhen you wishto
removethe DIMM module.
M WhenSTR/DIMM LEDisON,do notinstall/remove DIMM fromsocket.
M Please notethattheDIMM modulecanonlyfitinonedirection dueto
thetwonotches.Wrong orientation will cause improperinstallation.
Please changetheinsertorientation.
