Introduction Use these instructions to replace membrane switches on units manufactured after May 1997.
This work must be completed by a Gilbarco Authorized Service Contractor (ASC). Read all
instructions carefully before beginning the procedure.
Parts List Kit K94555-01 contains the following parts.

hazards and precautions.
Explosive
Fuels and their vapors are extremely explosive if ignited.
Flammable
Fuels and their vapors are extremely flammable.
Electricity
High voltage exists in, and is supplied to, the dispensing device. A potential shock hazard exists.
No Smoking
Sparks and embers from burning cigarettes or pipes can ignite fuels and their vapors.
No Open Flames
Open flames from matches, lighters, welding torches, etc. can ignite fuels and their vapors.
No Power Tools
Sparks from power tools (such as drills) can ignite fuels and their vapors.
No Vehicles In The Area
Moving vehicles in the area during service can create a potential for personal injury to you or
others. Sparks from starting vehicles can ignite fuels and their vapors.
No People In The Area
Unauthorized people in the area during service can create a potential for personal injury to you
and them.
Use Safety Barricades
Unauthorized people or vehicles in the work area are dangerous. Always use safety cones or
barricades, safety tape and your vehicle to block the work area.
Electrostatic Discharge
Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) and Integrated Circuits (ICs) are sensitive to electrostatic
discharge caused by static electricity. Electrostatic discharge damages electronic components.
When removing PCBs or handling sensitive parts:
• Place yourself at a neutral, static-free potential. Touch a conductive metal frame or
chassis.
• Use a wrist strap connected to a grounded metal frame or chassis.
• Place removed PCBs and/or ICs on a grounded anti-static mat.
• Place PCBs, to be returned for credit or repair, in anti-static bags.

Installation
Read NFPA 30A and NFPA 70
Before servicing the equipment, read, understand and follow applicable information in the
following codes:
• The National Electric Code (NFPA 70)
• The Automotive and Marine Service Code (NFPA 30A)
• Any national, state and local codes that may apply
The failure to service the equipment in accordance with NFPA 30A and NFPA 70 may
adversely affect the safe use and operation of the system.
Before You Begin Read and understand the following information before installing this kit.
1Read all instructions before beginning.
2Follow all of the following safety precautions.
• Barricade the work area.
• Do not allow vehicles or unauthorized people in work area.
• Do not smoke or have open flames in work area.
• Do not use power tools in work area.
3Record all electronic and mechanical totals.
4Turn off all power to unit, unit lights and STPs.
• Use system circuit breakers.
• Multiple disconnects may be required.
• Isolate each pump at distribution box.
5Follow proper electrostatic discharge (ESD) procedures.
• Place yourself at a neutral, static-free potential. Touch a conductive metal surface.
• Use a wrist strap connected to a grounded metal frame or chassis.

Installing New Membrane Switch
1Open Side A main access door. See MDE-2531 for instructions.
2Remove switch backing bracket by removing all 3/8" screws. Discard 3/8" screws.
Note: Note the position where each screw is removed. Use these same mounting holes to
install new screws in step 4.
3Remove existing membrane switches. Replace with new membrane switches.
4Reinstall switch backing bracket using new 7/16" screws.
5Repeat procedure for Side B.
6Close and lock main access door(s).
7Restore power. See MDE-2531 for instructions.
8Test each grade select button for correct operation. See MDE-2531 for more information.

replace with new switch
Install 8 screws in alternating
positions (36" frame): Install 10 screws in alternating
positions (48" frame):
