GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING. Read all safety warnings and all instructions.
Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in
electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
The term "power tool"in the warnings refers to your mains-
operated (corded) power tool or battery operated (cordless)
power tool.
1. WORK AREA SAFETY
a. Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered and dark
areas invite accidents.
b. Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres,
such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or
dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust
or fumes.
c. Keep children and bystanders away while operating
a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.
2. ELECTRICAL SAFETY
a. Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify
the plug in any way. Do not use any adaptor plugs with
earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and
matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
b. Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces
such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There
is an increased risk of electric
shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
c. Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions.
Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric
shock.
d. Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying,
pulling or unplugging the power tool.
Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving
parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of
electric shock.
e. When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension
cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of a cord suitable for
outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
f. If operating a power tool in a damp location is
unavoidable, use a residual current device (RCD)
protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of
electric shock.
NOTE: The term “residual current device (RCD)” may be
replaced by the term “ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI)” or
“earth leakage circuit breaker (ELCB)”.
3. PERSONAL SAFETY
a. Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common
sense when operating a power tool.
Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the
influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of
inattention while operating power tools may result in serious
personal injury.
b. Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye
protection.

f. Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery.

4. POWER TOOL USE & CARE
a. Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for
your application. The correct power tool will do the job better
and safer at the rate for which it was designed.
b. Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it
on and off. Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the
switch is dangerous and must be repaired.

c. Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or the
battery pack from the power tool before making any
adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power
tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of
starting the power tool accidentally.
d. Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do
not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these
instructions to operate the power tool. Power tools are
dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
e. Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding
of moving parts, breakage of parts and any other
condition that may affect the power tool's operation. If
damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many
accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
f. Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained
cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are
less likely to bind and are easier to control.
g. Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in
accordance with these instructions, taking into account
the working conditions and the work to be performed.
Use of the power tool for operations different from those
intended could result in a hazardous situation.
5. SERVICE
a. Have your power tool se rviced by a qualified repair
person using only identical replacement parts.
This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.

On completion of the work, disconnect the tool from the
power source and remove chisel/bit from the machine
tighten where necessary

Unpacking Your Tool
Carefully unpack and inspect your tool. Familiarise yourself
with all its features and functions.
Ensure that all parts of the tool are present and in good
condition. If any parts are missing or damaged, have such
parts replaced before attempting to use this tool.
Preparation
CAUTION. Always ensure that the drill is switched off and
plug is removed from the power point before making any
adjustments.
Fitting the auxiliary handle
1. Turn the Auxiliary Handle (12) anticlockwise to loosen the
collar and slip it over the front of the
drill
2. The handle can be secured at any
position around the collar. Rotate
the handle to the position that is
most comfortable and offers greatest
support for each application
3. Turn the auxiliary handle clockwise
to secure it in position
Using the depth gauge
Use the depth gauge when drilling a number of holes to a
of the depth gauge:
1. Loosen the Depth Gauge Securing
Wing Nut (2) and insert the Depth
Gauge (18) into the hole at the top of
the auxiliary handle
2. Position the depth gauge so that the

4. Check the depth with a steel rule for most accurate

Operating the chuck
This drill has a chuck designed for SDS Plus drill bits
The SDS system allows the bit to move within the chuck.
This means that it is unnecessary to tighten the chuck
around the bit
Always grease the tail end of SDS

To insert a drill bit:
1. Pull back the Chuck Collar (1) and
hold
2. Insert an SDS Plus drill bit fully into
the chuck. Use a twisting motion to line up the grooves in
the accessory
3. Release the locking sleeve
4. The bit should now be locked into the machine. Check by
pulling the bit; if the bit can be removed, repeat the above
procedure until secure

Drilling Metal
To ensure accuracy, mark the intended hole position using
a hammer and centre punch
Use rotary drill mode only
Ensure that drill bits are suitable for the grade of metal
being drilled, and are within the maximum capacity of the

2. Use the Pin Wrench (19) to unscrew
the gearbox cover
3. Use a spatula or similar instrument to apply general
machinery grease into the gearbox cavity until it is full. A pot
of grease is supplied with the tool
4. Be careful not to scratch or otherwise damage the
mechanism
5. Replace the gearbox cover and gearcase access cover
CAUTION

If you run out of grease, or are not sure how to change the
grease, take your product to the nearest authorised service
Cleaning
service life. Clean the body of your machine with a soft
brush, or dry cloth. If available, use clean, dry, compressed
air to blow through the ventilation holes
Brushes
Over time the carbon brushes inside the motor may
become worn
Excessively worn brushes may cause loss of power,
intermittent failure, or visible sparking
To replace the carbon brushes:
1. Unscrew Brush Cap (11) and remove the carbon brush
assembly
2. Insert the new brush assembly and replace the brush cap,
tightening it with a screwdriver
3. Repeat the operation for the second brush on the other side
of the tool
Note. After replacing the brushes, you may notice sparking
hazard. The excessive sparking and the burning smell will
soon subside as the new brushes bed in.
Storage
Store this tool carefully in a secure, dry place out of the
reach of children

ALGEMENE VEILIGHEID
WAARSCHUWING Lees alle bediening- en
veiligheidsvoorschriften. Het niet opvolgen van alle
voorschriften die hieronder vermeld staan, kan resulteren in
een elektrische schok, brand en/of ernstig letsel.
Bewaar deze voorschriften voor toekomstig gebruik.
De term “elektrisch gereedschap” in alle hieronder vermelde
waarschuwingen heeft betrekking op uw elektrische
gereedschap dat op de stroom is aangesloten (met een snoer)
of met een accu wordt gevoed (snoerloos).
1) VEILIGHEID IN DE WERKRUIMTE
a) Houd de werkruimte schoon en zorg voor een goede
verlichting. Rommelige en donkere ruimtes leiden vaak tot
ongelukken.
b) Werk niet met elektrisch gereedschap in explosieve
omgevingen, bijvoorbeeld in de aanwezigheid van
ontvlambare vloeistoffen, gassen of stof. Elektrisch
gereedschap brengt vonken teweeg die stof of dampen
kunnen doen ontbranden.
c) Houd kinderen en omstanders uit de buurt wanneer u
elektrisch gereedschap bedient. Door afleiding kunt u de
controle over het gereedschap verliezen.
2) ELEKTRISCHE VEILIGHEID
a) De stekkers van het elektrische gereedschap moeten
passen bij het stopcontact. Pas de stekker niet aan.
Gebruik geen adapterstekkers bij geaard elektrisch
gereedschap. Het gebruik van ongewijzigde stekkers
en passende stopcontacten vermindert het risico op een
elektrische schok.
b) Vermijd lichamelijk contact met geaarde oppervlakken
zoals pijpen, radiatoren, fornuizen en koelkasten. Het
risico op een elektrische schok neemt toe als uw lichaam
geaard wordt.
c) Laat elektrisch gereedschap niet nat worden. Wanneer
elektrisch gereedschap nat wordt, neemt het risico op een
elektrische schok toe.
d) Beschadig het snoer niet. Gebruik het snoer nooit om
het elektrisch gereedschap te dragen, te trekken of
om de stekker uit het stopcontact te trekken. Houd het
snoer uit de buurt van hitte, olie, scherpe randen of
bewegende delen. Een beschadigd of in de knoop geraakt
snoeren verhoogt het risico op een elektrische schok toe.
e) Wanneer u elektrisch gereedschap buiten gebruikt,
maak dan gebruik van een verlengsnoer dat geschikt is
voor gebruik buitenshuis. Gebruik een verlengsnoer dat
geschikt is voor gebruik buitenshuis om het risico op een
elektrische schok te verminderen.
f) Indien het onvermijdelijk is elektrisch gereedschap te
gebruiken in een vochtige omgeving, gebruik dan een
energiebron met een aardlek beveiliging (Residual
Currency Device). Het gebruik van een RCD vermindert het
risico op een elektrische schok.
3) PERSOONLIJKE VEILIGHEID
a) Blijf alert en gebruik uw gezonde verstand wanneer
u elektrisch gereedschap bedient. Gebruik het
elektrisch gereedschap niet wanneer u vermoeid bent
of onder invloed van drugs, alcohol of medicijnen.
Onoplettendheid tijdens het bedienen van elektrisch
gereedschap kan leiden tot ernstig letsel.
b) Maak gebruik van persoonlijke bescherming. Draag
altijd een veiligheidsbril. Passende bescherming voor
de omstandigheden, zoals een stofmasker, niet-slippende
veiligheidsschoenen een helm of gehoorbescherming,
vermindert het risico op persoonlijk letsel.
c) Zorg ervoor dat het apparaat niet per ongeluk wordt
gestart. Controleer of de schakelaar in de ‘uit’ stand
staat voordat u de stekker in het stopcontact steekt.
Het dragen van elektrisch gereedschap met uw vinger op
de schakelaar of het aansluiten op de stroom van elektrisch
gereedschap met de schakelaar ingeschakeld kan tot
ongelukken leiden.
d) Verwijder alle stel- of moersleutels voordat u het
elektrische gereedschap inschakelt. Een moer- of
stelsleutel die zich op een draaiend onderdeel van het
elektrische gereedschap bevindt, kan leiden tot letsel.
e) Reik niet te ver. Blijf altijd stevig en in balans staan. Zo
houdt u meer controle over het elektrische gereedschap in
onverwachte situaties.

f) Draag geschikte kleding. Draag geen loshangende
kleding of sieraden. Houd haren, kleding en
handschoenen uit de buurt van bewegende delen.
Loshangende kleding, sieraden en los hangende haren
kunnen vast komen te zitten in bewegende delen.
g) Als er onderdelen voor stofafvoer- en stofverzameling
worden meegeleverd, sluit deze dan aan en gebruik
deze op de juiste wijze. Het gebruik van deze onderdelen
kan het risico op stofgerelateerde ongelukken verminderen.
4) GEBRUIK EN VERZORGING VAN ELEKTRISCH
GEREEDSCHAP
a) Forceer elektrisch gereedschap niet. Gebruik elektrisch
gereedschap dat geschikt is voor het werk dat u wilt
uitvoeren. Geschikt elektrisch gereedschap werkt beter en
veiliger op een passende snelheid.
b) Gebruik het elektrische gereedschap niet als de
schakelaar het apparaat niet in- en uitschakelt.
Elektrisch gereedschap dat niet bediend kan worden met de
schakelaar is gevaarlijk en moet gerepareerd worden.
c) Haal de stekker uit het stopcontact voordat u
instellingen aanpast, toebehoren verwisselt of
het elektrische gereedschap opbergt. Dergelijke
voorzorgsmaatregelen verminderen het risico op het per
ongeluk starten van het elektrische gereedschap.
d) Berg elektrisch gereedschap dat niet in gebruik is op
buiten bereik van kinderen en laat mensen die niet
bekend zijn met het elektrische gereedschap of met
deze instructies het elektrische gereedschap niet
bedienen. Elektrisch gereedschap is gevaarlijk in de handen
van onervaren gebruikers.
e) Onderhoud uw elektrisch gereedschap. Controleer
op foutieve uitlijning of het vastslaan van bewegende
delen, gebroken onderdelen en elke andere afwijking
die de werking van het elektrische gereedschap zou
kunnen beïnvloeden. Indien het elektrische gereedschap
beschadigd is, moet u het laten repareren voordat u het
weer gebruikt. Veel ongelukken worden veroorzaakt door
slecht onderhouden elektrisch gereedschap.
f) Houd snijwerktuigen scherp en schoon. Goed
onderhouden snijwerktuigen met scherpe messen slaan
minder snel vast en zijn gemakkelijker te bedienen.
g) Gebruik het elektrische gereedschap, toebehoren en
onderdelen, etc. volgens deze instructies en volgens
bestemming voor het specifieke type elektrisch
gereedschap, en houd daarbij rekening met de
werkomstandigheden en het uit te voeren werk. Gebruik
van elektrisch gereedschap voor werkzaamheden die
verschillen van die waarvoor het apparaat bestemd is, kan
leiden tot gevaarlijke situaties.
5) ONDERHOUD
a) Laat uw elektrische gereedschap onderhouden door
een gekwalificeerde vakman en gebruik alleen identieke
vervangstukken. Zo bent u er zeker van dat de veiligheid
van het elektrische gereedschap gewaarborgd blijft.

Veiligheid voor boorhamers
Voor de veiligheid met betrekking tot beschermende
kleding en algemene gezondheidsgevaren verwijst u naar
Belangrijk: Het is noodzakelijk alle nationale
veiligheidsregels met betrekking tot installatie, gebruik en
onderhoud op te volgen
Laat personen jonger dan 18 jaar de boorhamer niet
gebruiken. Tevens horen alle gebruikers met de gebruik- en
veiligheidsinstructies bekend te zijn
Bij het gebruik van de boorhamer is de volgende
veiligheidsuitrusting verplicht: veiligheidsbril,
gehoorbescherming, handschoenen en wanneer het boren
stof produceert draagt u een stofmasker
Gebruik metaal- en spanningszoekers voor het vinden van
verborgen water- , gas- en/of elektrische leidingen. Vermijdt
het contact met componenten die onder spanning staan
Verlengkabels die in combinatie met de boorhamer gebruikt
worden horen volledig uitgepakt te worden. Minimale
aderdikte: 1.0 mm2
Wanneer de boorhamer buiten gebruikt wordt, sluit u deze
aan op een stroombron met een aardlekschakelaar en
gebruikt u verlengkabel met een minimale aderdikte van 1,5
mm met waterdichte beschermende stekkers
Zorg ervoor dat beitel of boor bits stevig in de span kop
vast zitten. Losse bits kunnen losschieten en ongelukken
veroorzaken

De werking van de boor houder
Deze boorhamer heeft een span kop
geschikt voor SDS+ boor bits
Het SDS+ systeem geeft de bits
beweegruimte in de boor houder (1).
Dit betekent dat het onnodig is de
boor houder om de bits heen vast
te zetten
Zorg ervoor dat de voet van een boor
bit vrij is van vuil en stof, en ingevet is voor gebruik
Het plaatsen van een boor bit:
1. Trek de boor houder kraag (2) naar achter en houd deze in
deze positie vast
2. Plaats het SDS+ bit volledig in de boor houder en roteer tot
de uitstulpingen in de inkepingen vallen
3. Laat de boor houder kraag los
4. Het bit hoort nu vast te zitten in de machine. Herhaal de
bovenstaande stappen wanneer het bit uit de boor houder
te trekken is
Om een bit te verwijderen trekt u de boor houder kraag naar
achteren en trekt u stevig aan het bit
Ben er van bewust dat het boren van gaten mogelijk minder
accuraat is dan die van een normale boorhamer, door de
vereiste hoeveelheid speling van de SDS+ boor houder
WAARSCHUWING: Bevestig geen boor bits met een
maximale snelheid, lager dan de onbelaste snelheid van de
machine
Het gebruiken van de stofkap
De stofkap kan gebruikt worden voor
het geven van extra bescherming
bij het binnendringen van stof in de
SDS+ boor houder
1. Plaats de stofkap over het boor
houder en schuif het naar achteren
tot het rust op de schouder van het
bit
2. Plaats het boor bit in de boor houder
als normaal
Het uitpakken van uw gereedschap
Pak uw toestel / gereedschap uit. Inspecteer het en zorg
dat u met alle kenmerken en functies vertrouwd raakt
Controleer of alle onderdelen aanwezig zijn en in goede
staat verkeren. Als er onderdelen ontbreken of beschadigd
zijn, zorg dan dat deze vervangen worden voor u dit toestel
/ gereedschap gebruikt
Voorbereiding
LET OP: Zorg ervoor dat de machine is uitgeschakeld en
de stekker uit de stroombron is verwijderd voordat enige
aanpassingen worden gemaakt
Het bevestigen van het hulphandvat
1.Draai het handvat (12) linksom
om de kraag te verlossen en over
de voorzijde van de machine te
schuiven
2. Het handvat kan in elke positie rond
de kraag vergrendeld worden. Draai
het handvat naar de gewenste/meest
comfortabele positie
3. Draai het handvat rechtsom om deze in positie te
vergrendelen
Het gebruik van de dieptemeter
Gebruik de dieptemeter bij het boren
Om de positie van de dieptemeter te
verstellen:
1. Draait u de vergrendelvleugelmoer
(2) los en plaats u de dieptemeter
(18) in het gat aan de bovenzijde van
het hulphandvat
2. Plaatst u de dieptemeter zo dat de benodigde gat diepte op
de schaal is weergegeven
3. Draai de vleugelmoer vast om de dieptemeter in positie te
vergrendelen
4. Controleer de diepte met een stalen liniaal voor de meest
nauwkeurige meting

Wanneer het boorafval het gat blokkeert, laat u de boor
langzaam draaien en beweegt u het op en neer tot het afval
verwijderd is
Boren in hout
Gebruik de machine alleen in de rotatiestand
Zorg ervoor dat de boor bits geschikt zijn voor het boren in
hout
Boren in metaal
Om zeker te zijn van nauwkeurig boren in metaal markeert
u het te boren punt met een hamer en priem
Gebruik de machine alleen in de rotatiestand
Zorg ervoor dat de boor bits geschikt zijn voor het metaal
van de boor bits gebruikt u een geschikt smeermiddel
LET OP:
Het uitoefenen van een grote druk op de achterzijde van
boren. Wanneer de snelheid van de boor lager wordt hoort
u de druk op de boor te verminderen. Het overbelasten van
de boor heeft een negatief effect op de levensduur van de
machine
Tijdens het boren is de mogelijkheid daar, dat boor bits
vastraken in het materiaal waardoor de machine plotseling
slaat. Om ongelukken te voorkomen houdt u de machine
stevig vast, gebruikt u het zijhandvat en gebruikt u scherpe
boor bits
Zorg ervoor dat het te boren materiaal goed vast staat,
bijvoorbeeld met behulp van klemmen, zodat de machine
met beide handen wordt vast gehouden
De machine is niet ontworpen voor werkzaamheden met
hoge koppel als schroevendraaien. Deze werkzaamheden
beschadigen de motor
Onderhoud
WAARSCHUWING: Verwijder de
stekker uit het stopcontact voordat
enige aanpassingen/schoonmaak wordt
uitgevoerd
Versnellingsbak onderhoud
Na elke 6 gebruiksuren hoort de
versnellingsbak ingevet te worden
1. Verwijder de versnellingsbakbehuizing toegangsafdekking

2. Gebruik de pinsleutel (19) om de versnellingsbak
beschermkap los te schroeven
3. Gebruik een spatel of een gelijk voorwerp voor het
aanbrengen van het smeersel in de versnellingsbakholte tot
deze gevuld is. Een pot is verstrekt
4. Ben voorzichtig en kras of beschadig het mechanisme niet
5. Bevestig de afdekking en beschermkap terug op de
machine
OPMERKING:
Schroef de afdekplaat niet te strak vast en stop niet te veel
smeer in de versnellingsbakholte.
Wanneer het smeersel op raakt, of wanneer u niet zeker
bent van het opvullen van de holte, breng het product dan
naar een bevoegd service center voor advies

Schoonmaak
Houd uw machine te allen tijde schoon. Vuil en stof doet de
interne onderdelen slijten en vermindert de levensduur van
de machine. Maak de behuizing met een zachte borstel of
droge doek schoon. Gebruik wanneer mogelijk, droge en
schone perslucht om door de ventilatiegaten te blazen
Borstels
Na verloop van tijd raken de borstels in de motor versleten
Versleten borstels resulteren in vermogen verlies, zichtbaar
vonken en wanprestatie
Om de borstels te vervangen:
1. Schroef de toegangsdop (11) los en verwijder de
borstelsamenstelling
2. Plaats de nieuwe borstelsamenstelling en draai de
toegangsdop met een schroevendraaier vast
3. Herhaal deze stappen voor de andere borstel aan de
andere zijde van de machine
LET OP: Het eerste gebruik, na het vervangen van de
borstels, produceert mogelijk vonken en een brandgeur. Dit is
geen gevaar. Het vonken en de geur zullen snel verdwijnen.
Opberging
Berg uw machine op een veilige en droge plek, buiten het
bereik van kinderen op
Verwijdering
Elektronische apparaten mogen niet met uw huishoudelijk
afval worden weggegooid
