equipment. The followingguidelines are provided for your information.
ESTABLISHA SAFE SOUNDLEVEL
Over time yourhearing will adapt to continuous loudsounds and will give the impression
that the volumehas in fact been reduced. Whatseems normal to you may infact be
harmful To guard againstthis BEFORE YOUR HEARING ADAPTSset the volume at
a low level.
Slowly increase thelevel until you can hear comfortablyand clearly and without distortion.
Damage to yourhearing is accumulative and is irreversible
Any ringing ordiscomfort in the ears indicates thatthe volume is too loud.
Remember listening forprolonged period of time at highvolume levels will harm you
hearing.
Once you haveestablished a comfortable listening level DONOT INCREASE THE
SOUND LEVEL FURTHER.
The following listof typical sound levels may assistyou in recognising just how loud
you have setthe volume level.

If you hear no sound whenplaying a disc, DO
NOT turn the volume uphigh because the
music could suddenly begin at highvolume.
To avoidhurting your ears or damaging any
speakers, attached turn the volume controlto
a low level before starting playbackand
slowly turn it up to thedesired level
Note on listening with the earphones
listen at moderate volumes to avoidhearing
damage
Do not wear the earphones whiledriving or
cycling. It may create a traffic hazard

Note on condensation
If the unit is suddenly movedfrom a cold place
to a warm one, it maycause in condensation on
the pickup lens and malfunction orplayback
difficulties, should this occur,leavethe unit for
a few hours,then try playback again.

USING NON-RECHARGEABLE
BATTERIES
Open the battery compartment and inserttwo
LR6 (size AA) alkalinebatteries with the +and
marks correctly aligned.
Battery replacement
Replace the batteries when symbol
appears in the display.If the unit remains in
use after the display appears theplayer
will stop.
Using on dry cell batteries
Do not mix different typesof batteries, or an
old battery with a new one
To preventthe risk of electrolyte leakage or
explosions. never recharge the batteries,
apply heat to them, or takethem apart,
When using non-rechargeable batteries
make sure the recharge switch is set to the
off position
When not using batteries, remove them to
preserve their life If liquid leaksfrom the
batteries, wipe thoroughly to remove

USING RECHARGE- ABLE
BATTERIES
Be sure to use sizeAA Ni-Cd or Ni-MH
rechargeable batteries. which are commercially
available
Be sure to read the instructionsof the
rechargeable batteries before use
Before charging the batteries, close thedisc
compartment, batteries cannot be charged
whilst the lid is open
1. Insert the rechargeable batteries withthe +
and marks correctly aligned.
2. When recharging please switch therecharge
switch to "on", after recharging switchto "off",
otherwise the CD player may bedamaged
After charging, disconnect theAC adaptor.(not
supplied) Recharge the batteries when
symbol appears, If the unit remainsin use after
symbol appears, the player will stop.
ATTENTION
Rechargable batteries are recyclable,At
the end of their useful life,please dispose of
them correctly.

BEFORE PLAYBACK
HOLD switch
Slide the HOLD switch to OFF position
before playback.
When not using the unit, setthe HOLD switch
to the ON position, when theHOLD switch is
the on position the buttons willnot function and
the unit will not turn onaccidentally If buttons
are pressed "HOLD" will show onthe display.
Turn the power on
Press PLAY. Power is turned on
and playback starts.
Turning off thepower
If no buttons are pressed within30 seconds
after the CD is stopped. the power is turned
off automatically.(Auto poweroff function)To
turn off the power manuallypress the stop
button.
Standby mode
When playback finishes, the unit goesinto
standby mode until the auto poweroff function
turns off the power. To enterstandby mode,
press PLAYto start playback, then press STOP
Adjusting the Volume
Rotnte the VOLUME control to adjustthe volume
1. RECHARGE
During battery charging the RECHARGE LED
illuminates. when charging has finished the
RECHARGE LED will turn off.
2. Recharge time is 15 hours..

Switch BASS BOOST on forenhanced BASS
Inserting a disc
1. Slide the OPEN switch toopen the disc cover
2. Place a disc on thecentre capstan with the
label side facing up.
3.Close the disc compartment.
To remove thedisc
Pick up the disc, holding itsedge, while
pressing the centre gently.

Recharge

PLAYBACK
Connect the supplied headphones to the
PHONE socket.
1.Slide HOLD switch to OFF position.
2.Insert a disc.
3.Press PLAY
Playback starts from the first track.
BASIC OPERATION
To stop: Press STOP
To play: Press PLAY
To pauseplayback:
Press PAUSE
To resumeplayback press
again.
To skipto the beginning of a track:
Press skip + or skip -
To locatea desired passage:
press and hold skip + or
skip -.
Release the button at the
start of desired passage.

PROGRAM:

1. Press PROGRAM button, "PROGRAM 01"will
in the display
2. Press skip - or skip+ key to select the track no.
3. hen desired track is located, press PROGRAM
key to store into memory
4. Repeat 2-3 (up to 24 tracks) after 24 tracks have
been stored the display shows the first stored track.
5. Press play button PROG stops flashing and starts
playing.
6. To clear programing, press the STOP button.
MODE button:
REPEAT ONE: " 1 " will be shown in the
display and the current track will be
repeated
REPEAT ALL: " ALL" will be shown in the
display and all tracks will be repeated
No: If no diSC, has been inserted or disc
has be inserted upside down " NO"

CONNECTION TO AN
EXTERNAL UNIT
Use a cable with 3.5mm stereo plug at one end
two phono plugs at theother end.(not supplied)
connect the stereo plug tothe LINE OUT socket
of the unit and connectthe phono plugs to the
analogve input (AUX) terminals ofthe external
unit.
NOTE
Turn off the powerof both units before
making connections. DO NOT connectto the
PHCNO inputs of an amplifier Adjust the
volume and BASS BOOST onthe CD player.

MAINTENANCE
To clean thelens
If the lens become dirty, the player will skip or
not play, Ifthis occurs, clean the lens inthe
following. manner, To remove dust or dust
particles, first use a camera lensblower/brush
1 to blow a few timesto loosen particles, then
gently brush the lens 2 cleanfinish by blowing
the lens again.
To clean thediscs
Before playing, wipe the disc fromthe center
to the outside edge with acleaning cloth, After
playing, store the disc in itscase.
