supervision is necessry when ny

Children should be supervised to
ensure tht they do not ply with
the pplince. Keep the pplince
nd its cord out of rech of
children.

or electric burner, or in n oven.
4. Alwys ttch plug to pplince
first, then plug cord into the
wll outlet (for pplinces with
detchble cords). To disconnect,
turn the control knob to the o
position, then remove plug from
wll outlet.
5. Do not let cord hng over edge
of tble or counter or touch hot
surfces.
6. To protect ginst electric shock,
do not plce or immerse cord,
plugs, or pplinces in wter or
other liquid.
7. Do not touch hot surfces. Use
hndles or knobs.
8. CAUTION: To prevent injury, be
sure to relese the pressure
before removing portafilter or
water reservoir cp.
9. WARNIN: To void the risk of
injury, never open or disengge
the portfilter during the brew
cycle. Alwys properly engge
the filter holder to the locking
mechnism. Filure to do so my
disengge the filter holder during
the brew cycle nd cuse injuries.
10. Do not operte the pplince with
 dmged cord or plug, or if the
pplince mlfunctions or hs
been dmged in ny mnner. Do
not ttempt to replce or splice 
dmged cord. Return pplince
to n Authorized Service Center
for exmintion, repir, or
djustment.

recommended by the pplince

12. Unplug from outlet when the
pplince is not in use, nd before

Cord and Plug Safety
1. A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce risk of becoming entngled
in or tripping over  longer cord.
2. Extension cords my be used if cre is exercised in their use.
3. If n extension cord is used:
• The mrked electricl rting of the extension cord should be t lest equl
to the electricl rting of the pplince; nd
• The longer cord should be rrnged so tht it will not drpe over the
countertop or tbletop where it cn be pulled on by children or tripped
over.
Electrical Polarized Plug
This unit hs  polrized plug (one blde is wider thn the other).
To reduce the risk of electric shock, the plug is intended to be
used by inserting it into the electricl outlet only one wy. If the
plug does not fit securely into the outlet, reverse the plug nd
re-insert. If it still does not fit, contct  qulified electricin for
ssistnce. Do not modify the plug in ny wy.

To prevent injury, be sure to relese the pressure before removing
portafilter or water reservoir cap.
Releasing Pressure:
After every use of the espresso mker, you must relese the built-
up stem in the water reservoir before removing the portafilter or
unscrewing the water reservoir cap.
1. Unplug the power cord from the outlet nd plce  mug
underneth the frothing wand nozzle.
2. Turn the control knob to the STEAM position nd let the stem exit
from the frothing wand nozzle.
3. When there is no more stem exiting through the nozzle, it is sfe
to unscrew the water reservoir cap.
4. Turn the control knob to the OFF position.

Before First Use
• Remove nd discrd ll pckging mteril nd stickers tht re not
permnent.
• Remove the water reservoir, portafilter, filter, nd measuring scoop. Wsh
them with non-brsive sop. Thoroughly dry nd reinsert the prts. Wipe
the exterior with  dmp cloth.
Priming Your Espresso Maker
Before first use, the pplince must
run through n initil brew cycle with
just wter. Follow the directions below
to prime the pplince:
1. Unscrew the water reservoir cap.
2. Fill the glass carafe with wter up
to the four-cup mark.
3. Pour wter in the water reservoir
nd screw the cp bck on.
4. Position n empty portafilter
under the open lock icon ( )
nd fsten it into the espresso
mker by turning it to the right
until the portafilter is secured into
the closed lock icon ( ).
5. Plce the glass carafe directly
underneth the portafilter.
6. Plug the power cord into n
outlet.
7. Turn the control knob on the left
side of the espresso mker to the
BREW position.
8. After wter is finished dispensing,
turn the control knob to the OFF
position.
Relesing Pressure:
The next steps are for releasing
pressure from the appliance:
1. Unplug the power cord from
the outlet nd plce  mug
underneth the frothing wand
nozzle.
2. Turn the control knob to the
STEAM position nd let the stem
exit from the frothing wand
nozzle.
3. When there is no more stem
exiting through the nozzle,
unscrew the water reservoir cap.
4. Turn the control knob to the OFF
position.

Making An Espresso
WATER:
1. The carafe ws designed s 
mesuring cup. For two shots, fill
the carafe with wter up to the
two-cup mark. For four shots, fill
the carafe with wter up to the
four-cup mark.
2. Pour the wter from the carafe
into the water reservoir.
3. Screw the cp tightly bck onto
the water reservoir.
ROUNDS:
1. Plce the filter into the portafilter.
2. Fill the portafilter with the
pproprite mount of grounds
using the measuring scoop. For
two shots, fill up with grounds up
to the two-cup line. For four shots,
fill up with grounds up to the four-
cup line.
NOTE: It’s best to use medium
grounds. Avoid fine grounds.
3. Lightly press on the grounds in
the portafilter with the bottom of
the measuring scoop.
4. Position the portafilter under the
open lock icon ( ) nd fsten
it into the espresso mker by
turning it to the right until the
portafilter is secured into the
closed lock icon ( ).
BREWIN:
1. When redy to brew, plce the
glass carafe directly underneth
the portafilter.
2. Plug the power cord into n
outlet.
3. Turn the control knob on the left
side of the espresso mker to the
BREW position. It tkes time for the
espresso mker to prehet nd
espresso to strt brewing.
4. After espresso is finished
dispensing, turn the control knob
to the OFF position.

Quick Start
Mking  Cppuccino
or  Ltte
WATER:
1. The glss carafe ws designed
s  mesuring cup. For two
shots of cppuccino or ltte, fill
the glass carafe up to the two-cup
with steam mark. For four shots of
cppuccino or ltte, fill the glass
carafe up to the four-cup with
steam mark. Pour into the water
reservoir.
2. Screw the cp bck onto the
water reservoir.
ROUNDS:
1. Plce the filter into the portafilter.
2. Fill the portafilter with the
pproprite mount of grounds
using the measuring scoop. For
two shots, fill with coee grounds
up to the two-shot line. For four
shots, fill with grounds up to the
four-shot line.
NOTE:It’s best to use medium
grounds. Avoid fine grounds.
3. Lightly press on the grounds in
the portafilter by pushing down
on them with the bottom of the
measuring scoop.
4. Position the portafilter under the
open lock icon( ) nd fsten
it into the espresso mker by
turning it to the right until the
portafilter is secured into the
closed lock icon ( ).
BREWIN:
1. When redy to brew, plce the
glass carafe directly underneth
the portafilter.
2. Plug the power cord into n
outlet.
3. Turn the control knob on the left
side of the espresso mker to the

4. If brewing two shots, disrupt the
brewing process t the two-cup
mark by turning the control knob
to the OFF position. If brewing
four shots, disrupt the brewing
process t the four-cup mark by

OFF position.
NOTE: Do not wait until all water has
finished dispensing, as you must
leave enough water for frothing milk.
FROTHIN MILK:
1. Fill  cup, mug, or frothing pitcher
with cold milk, leving enough
room for the expnsion of the
fom.
2. Plce cup, mug, or frothing pitcher
underneth the nozzle of the
frothing wnd, mking sure the
nozzle is submerged in the milk.
Tilt the cup slightly for best results.
NOTE: Finding the right position of
the nozzle in the milk takes time
and practice.

will begin frothing.
4. When finished frothing, turn the
control knob bck to the OFF
position.
5. Wit until stem hs finished
exiting through the frothing wand
nozzle.
6. When there is no stem left, pour
frothed milk into your drink of
choice.

After Every Use
To keep the espresso mker running smoothly, it is importnt to clen the
pplince fter every use.
1. Refer to pge 5 to relese
pressure from the pplince
before clening it.
2. Remove the portafilter from the
brew head to discrd coee
grounds. Lift the filter retainer clip
so tht it’s plced over the filter
edge nd hold it in plce s you
dump the coee grounds into the
trsh.
3. Rinse the portafilter with fresh
wter.
WARNIN: The portafilter is not
dishwsher sfe! Hnd wsh only.
4. Fill the glass carafe to the steam
mark with wter nd pour it into
the water reservoir.
5. Screw cp bck onto the water
reservoir nd plug the power cord
into n outlet.
6. Fill  cup or mug hlfwy with
wter nd submerge the frothing
wand nozzle into the wter.
7. Turn the control knob to the
STEAM position.
8. After frothing for 30 seconds,
turn the control knob to the OFF
position.
9. Wit  few seconds for stem to
finish exiting through the nozzle,
then discrd the wter from the
mug.
10. Wipe the frothing wand with 
dmp cloth.
11. Remove the drip tray cover nd
empty wter or coee from the
drip tray. Dry with  clen cloth.
12. Wipe the exterior of the pplince
with  dmp cloth.

Descaling
After using the espresso mker for  while, limescle will begin to build up inside
the pplince. It is importnt to descle the pplince every 2-3 months. If the
espresso mker is used dily, the descling process should be done monthly.
1. Mix equl prts vinegr nd wter
in the carafe up to the four-cup
mrk.
2. Pour the solution into the water
reservoir.
3. Insert the portafilter with n empty
filter into the brew head.
4. Plce  het resistnt cup or mug
on top of the drip tray.
5. Plug in the power cord.
6. Turn the control knob to the
COFFEE position. After the mixture
finishes dispensing, discrd the
solution from the cup.
7. Follow directions on pge 5
to relese pressure from the
pplince.
8. Mix equl prts vinegr nd wter
in the carafe up to the four-cup
mark.
9. Pour the solution into the water
reservoir.
10. Plce  het resistnt cup or mug
underneth the frothing wand
nozzle.
11. Plug in the power cord.
12. Turn the control knob to the
STEAM position.
13. After 30 seconds, turn the control
knob to the OFF position.
14. Allow remining wter nd
vinegr to sit overnight in the
water reservoir.
15. Discrd vinegr through the top
opening of the espresso mker
by turning the pplince upside
down over the sink.
16. Rinse the water reservoir
thoroughly with tp wter nd
then pour the wter bck into the
sink.
17. Fill up the water reservoir with
wter nd begin brewing gin.
This wshes out ny remining
vinegr.
NOTE: If n odor of vinegr persists,
run nother cycle with wter.
