Thank you for purchas ng the Graff Sapph re 3 med a player, please take a few
moments to read th s manual to fam l ar se yourself w th the controls. If you exper ence

General
Your Sapph re 3 s f tted w th an nternal re-chargeable battery, t s recommended that
you fully charge the battery for at least three hours before f rst use.
Charging the Battery
Use the enclosed power supply/charger. Plug one end nto the ma ns supply. Plug the
other end nto the socket marked “DC5V” on the Sapph re 3. Normal charg ng takes
approx mately 1 ½ hours. It s not necessary to sw tch the player on to charge t.
Note: The media player can be used whilst the battery is being charged,
however, if the battery is completely discharged we recommend charging for 60
seconds before inserting your memory device.
Operation
1) To apply power to the Sapph re 3, sl de the on/off sw tch (4) to the r ght. The blue
“power on” nd cator w ll llum nate ns de the volume control.
2) Insert your memory dev ce conta n ng mp3 f les nto the appropr ate socket (USB or
SD)
Note: Your memory device is designed to fit into the appropriate socket one way
only. If resistance is felt turn the device round and try again. The diagrams show
the correct orientation.

Controls
Track forward ►►(7):- Momentar ly press th s button to play the next track.
Track Back ◄◄(5):- Momentar ly press th s button to play the prev ous track.
Play Pause ► ‖ (6):- Momentar ly press th s button to pause the current track. Press aga n
to resume playback.
Advanced Features
1) Hold ng down Track Forward (7) and Track Back (5) Buttons for longer than 5
seconds w ll fast forward or rew nd w th n the track that s currently play ng.
2) Hold ng down the Play/Pause button for longer than 2 seconds w ll change the
playback between the SD card and the USB dr ve. If you change mode acc dentally,
normal playback can be resumed by hold ng down the pause button for approx mately
4 seconds or by turn ng the power sw tch off and after approx mately 4 seconds, back
on.
Headphones
A 3.5mm headph ne s cket is pr vided n the right hand side f the
Sapphire 3.
When using headph nes, ALWAYS turn d wn the v lume c ntr l t a l w
level bef re c nnecting. Once c nnected, increase the v lume t a
c mf rtable listening level.
The Headph ne v lume can be adjusted using the v lume c ntr l (9),
WARNING: Prolonged use of headphones with high volume settings
can lead to permanent hearing damage.
Audio Stored in Folders
Dur ng standard playback the Sapph re 3 w ll play all of the tracks n one folder before
progress ng to the next.

Quest on Answer
When I sw tch on the Sapph re the blue
power l ght does not come on.
The battery s flat. Try charg ng the battery
us ng the power adaptor.
I have charged the battery but the
nd cator l ght s st ll not on.
Ensure the power adaptor s plugged nto
the correct socket on the Sapph re
(marked DC5V).
There s no aud o and the blue playback
nd cator s not flash ng.
Ensure the memory dev ce s correctly
nserted, check the pause button has not
been pressed. Check the aud o f les on
the dev ce are n mp3 format. Turn the
sapph re off for 10 seconds then back on.

Ensure the ma n volume control s turned
fully clockw se. Hold down the volume +
button on the remote control to ncrease
the volume.
The qual ty of the aud o s poor. Try chang ng the “EQ” sett ng v a the
remote control.
My remote has no effect on the Sapph re. Ensure the battery has been act vated by
remov ng the cellophane str p at the base
of the remote. Replace the battery f
necessary.
A short sect on of aud o keeps repeat ng
on battery power.
The battery s flat. Recharge the battery.
Note: Switching the Sapphire player off and back on rapidly can cause loss of
play back and functionality. In the event of this happening, switch the sapphire
to the off position for 10 seconds before switching back on.

Remote Control Operation
On f rst use, enable the remote control battery by pull ng out the str p of cellophane at
the bottom of the remote control.
Track forward back
Back ◄◄ Press the Track Back button momentar ly to play the prev ous track.
Forwards ►► Press the Track Forwards button momentar ly to play the next
track.
Play Pause
► ‖ Press the play/pause button momentar ly to pause playback and to resume
playback.
Volume Increase Decrease
Press and hold the – button to decrease the volume unt l the des red level s ach eved.
Press and hold the + button to ncrease the volume unt l the des red level s ach eved.
Equalisation
There are s x pre-set equal ser sett ngs to ncrease your l sten ng pleasure. Press ng
the EQ button cycles through the pre-sets.
Track Select Buttons
You can move d rectly to the track of your cho ce by key ng n the number of the
des red track.
Press ng (1) then (2) w ll select track 12.
Please note: The battery compartment on the rear of the unit is normally empty
and can be used to fit a replacement should the internal battery fail. It can also
be used to fit an additional
battery if required. Which will double the
playing time after charging

workmansh p
Th s warranty does not apply to any parts that become unserv ceable through
acc dent, m suse or neglect, repa rs attempted by unauthor sed persons, use on
power suppl es other than that spec f ed n the user manual and normal wear and
tear.
Any repa rs or parts replacement requ red under the terms of the warranty due to
