Special Loading Features
On
location
or
in the studio, you'll enjoy
the extra convenience
of
working with
an
RH/20. Your
new
RH/20 loads with-
out completely removing
it
from the
camera. Just open,
remove
the carriage,
load
and
replace. It's that simple.
And
the RH/20 can
be
loaded in daylight.
It
is recommended that
you
load film in
subdued light
....
definitely not in
bright sunlight!

Follow
these
seven
easy
steps
in
operating
the
RH/20
roll
film
holder
1.
Removing
the
carriage
Open
the RH/20 roll film holder
by
squeezing the release latches together.
Lift
the cover
away.
Take out the car-
riage (Fig.
1).
2.
Loading
the
film
With the carriage in hand, transfer the
empty supply spool to the take-up spool
position.
Hold the loaded supply spool
so
that
the paper leader will unwind with the
black side facing outward. Insert the
lower
end
of
the spool into the supply
cavity.
Press
downward
on
the spool
until
the
top
end
can
be
tipped into place (Fig 2).
Examine the film flattener rollers when
loading film to
be
sure they are rotating
freely. This prevents scratching and
maintains film flatness.

3.
Attaching
the
film
to
the
take-up
spool
Unwind enough paper leader to
go
com-
pletely around the front
o~
the carriage
and reach the take-up spool (Fig. 3 &
4).
Insert the tab
on
the paper leader into
the wider slot
on
the take-up spool.
Actuate the advance lever approximately
1/2
stroke to make a complete turn
of
the spool. Check to make sure the
leader is evenly wound between the
spool flanges.
Advance the lever
until
the starting
marker
on
the film is opposite the arrow
inside the carriage (Fig.
5)
.
4.
Setting
the
exposure
counter
Rotate the exposure counter toward its
arrow
until
it
clicks into place and
re-
sists further turning.
Do
not attempt
to rotate the counter beyond this point. .
5.
Closing
the
holder
Replace the carriage.
Press
down firmly
on
the cover to close, engaging both
latches. •
NOTE:
Preloaded
RH/20
carriages can
be
interchanged '
at
any time.
And
you
can also interchange
RH/l0
carriages
with
RH/20
carriages in the RH/20
roll film holder.

6.
Synchronizing
the
advance
lever
with
the
exposure
counter
Actuate the advance lever
until
it
stops.
In
itial winding is then completed.
As
the
No.
1 exposure appears, the ad-
vance lever automatically synchronizes
with the counter.
Do
not rotate expo-
sure counter beyond arrow.
NOTE:
In the
No
. 1 exposure position,
the film is wrapped around the
idler
roller in a direction opposite to
its
normal curl. This may
Gause
strain
on
the adhesive
strip
holding the film to
the leader. Under certain conditions, the
adhesive strip may loosen.
To
avoid
detachment, the film should not
be
ad-
vanced to the No. 1 exposure position
until the first exposure is to
be
made.
Advance
lever
The film should then
be
advanced to
the
No.2
position.
7.
Film
advance
The advance, lever automatically locks
after each film advance. This prevents
accidental film transport and overlap-
ping exposure.
To
unlock the advance lever, move the
release lever to the
left
(Fig. 6). Lever
is then free to advance the film. Repeat
this procedure after each exposure.
When
the last exposure
has
been
made,
aga
in
move
the release lever to the
left
and hold. Actuate the advance lever
until
the counter ceases to rotate. At
this point, the film is
fully
wound onto
the take-up spool.
It
can
be
removed
from the holder.

lever

8.
Using
120
film
in
RH/20
To
use 120 film, follow directions 1-7.
The
roll
of
120 film will
be
completely
exposed when the exposure counter
indicates 10. Hold the release lever to
the
left
and actuate the advance lever
until
the counter passes the number 20.
Remove
film.
Maintenance
This holder has
been
carefully designed
to perform like

for many years. A
few simple cleaning procedures should
be
followed to maintain the
life
and
appearance
of
your holder.

of
film,

end
of
both film flattening rollers. Make
a mixture

apply one drop to each sleeve. Turn
the rollers to work the mixture into the
