CARE AND FEEDING
This is a real, solid wood product. Wood is a great material for making audio products, its resonant quali-
ties cannot be matched by man-made plastics or composites. Wood is also a beautiful material, and the
natural color and grain variations inherent to the wood are part of this beauty.
Being made from a natural material there are a few precautions to take when using your Grain Audio
product.
1. Keep things dry. Wood (and electronics by the way) don’t like being wet or submerged in liquid… steam
saunas aren’t great places for them either. Please keep this in mind.
2. Take care. The wood housing of your Grain Audio product will take some bumps and bruises. Unlike
harder plastics these scrapes may show but that’s okay; these will not affect the sound quality of your
product. Plus, it’ll make you look cool.
3. Shade. Wood will change color over time. This is a result of the natural interaction between the wood,
oxygen and sunlight. We’re pretty sure you can’t control the oxygen content in the air around your Grain
Audio product but you can keep it out of prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. No sunscreen though,
that would be bad.
4. Finish. The wood in your Grain Audio product is protected by a durable water resistant finish. It is
designed to last the life of the product and should not need refinishing. However, an occasional cleaning
with a soft cloth will help keep things pretty.
WARNING: Use of a headset that covers both ears will impair your ability to hear other sounds. Use of such
a headset while operating a motor vehicle or riding a bicycle may create a serious hazard to you and/or
others, and is illegal in most states and regions.
WARNING: Exposure to high volume sound levels may damage your hearing. The louder the volume, the
less time is required before your hearing could be affected. You may experience different sound levels
when using your headset or headphones with different music and different devices. If you experience
hearing discomfort, you should stop listening to the device through your headset or headphones and have
your hearing checked by your doctor.
To protect your hearing, some hearing experts suggest that you:
• Set the volume control in a low position before putting your headset or headphones on your ears and use
as low a volume as possible.
• Avoid turning up the volume to block out noisy surroundings. Whenever possible, use your headset or
headphones in a quiet environment with low background noise.
• Limit the amount of time you use headsets or headphones at high volume levels.
• Turn the volume down if the sound from the headset or headphones prevents you from hearing people
speaking near you.
