OpenLidof shipping carton and removepartsboxand
packingmaterials.Laycardboardsheeton floorand use
as aworksurfacetoprotectfloor and heater partsfrom
scratches.
You mayslicethecarton front cornerswithautilityknife
tolayopenthecarton frontpanel.Thisallowsyou to
raise theheaterand removethecomponentspacked
inside,making iteasiertolift. Use theslicedoff carton
frontas aworksurfacetoprotect floorand heaterparts
fromscratches.
Use thePart Diagramstoensureall itemsareincluded
and free ofdamage.
Donotassembleoroperatetheheaterifitappearsdam-
aged.Iftherearedamagedormissing partswhenyou

CORRECTLPGASTANK USE Intheeventofrain,turnoff theburnerand gas
supply,and thencovertheheater.
Use yourheateron alevel,stablesurfaceinan
area clearofcombustiblematerials.
Donotleaveheaterunattendedwheninuse.
Donotmovetheheaterwheninuse.
Allowtheheatertocoolbeforemoving orstoring.
Thisheaterisnotintendedtobeinstalledin
oron recreationalvehicles and/orboats.
Theheaterisnotintendedforcommercialuse.
Never use charcoalorlighterfluidinthisgas
heater.
LPGas heatermodelsaredesigned forusewithastandard
20lb.LiquidPropaneGas(LPGas)tank,not includedwith
heater.Never connectyourgas heatertoan LPGas tank
thatexceedsthiscapacity.Atankofapproximately12inches
indiameterby18-1/2incheshighisthe maximumsizeLP
Gastanktouse. Youmustusean "OPD"gastankwhich
offersalistedOverfill PreventionDevice. Thissafetyfeature
preventsthe tankfrombeingoverfilledwhich cancausea
malfunctionofLPGastank,regulatorand/orheater.
The LPGastankmustbe constructed andmarkedin
accordancewiththe Specifications forLP-GasCylinders
oftheU.S.DepartmentofTransportation(D.O.T.)orthe
NationalStandardofCanada,CAN/CSA-B339,Cylinders,
Spheres andTubes forTransportation ofDangerous
Goods;and Commission,as applicable.
The LPGastankmusthave ashutoffvalve,terminating
inanLPGassupplytankvalveoutlet,thatiscompatible
withaType 1tankconnectiondevice.TheLPGastank
mustalsohave asafetyreliefdevicethathasadirect
connectionwiththe vaporspace ofthetank.
The tanksupplysystemmustbe arranged forvapor
withdrawal.
The LPGastankusedmusthaveacollartoprotectthe
tankvalve.If thereisexcessive abrasion,wear,orif the
hoseiscut,itmustbe replacedpriortousingtheheater.
Never connectan unregulated LPgastanktoyourgas
heater.The gasregulatorassemblysupplied withyour
gasheaterisadjustedtohavean outletpressureof11"
watercolumn(W.C.)forconnectiontoanLPgastank.
Onlyusetheregulatorandhoseassemblysuppliedwith
yourgasheater. Replacementregulatorsandhose
assembliesmustbethosespecifiedbyGrandHall.
Have yourLPGasdealercheckthereleasevalve after
everyfillingtoensureitremains freeofdefects.
Always keepLPGastankinuprightposition.
DonotsubjecttheLPGastanktoexcessive heat.
Ifyou storeyourgas heaterinthegarage always
disconnectthe LPGas tankfirstandstoreitsafely
outside.
Neverstorean LPGastankindoors.LPGastanks must
bestoredoutdoorsinawell-ventilated areaandoutof
the reachofchildren.
The regulatorandhoseassemblycan be seen after
openingthe doorandmustbe inspected beforeeachuse
oftheheater.If thereisexcessive abrasionorwearor
if thehoseiscut,itmustbe replacedpriortousingthe
heateragain.
Never allowchildrentooperateyourheater.Donotallow
children orpetstoplaynearyourheater.Always supervise
children andpetsiftheyareinthe vicinityoftheheater.
Use ofalcohol,prescription ornon-prescription drugs
canimpairyourabilitytoproperlyassembleand safely
operateyourheater.
Keepfireextinguisherreadilyaccessible.Intheevent

latedarea,awayfromignition sources such as gas firedor
electricalappliances.During theleaktest, keepyourheater
awayfromopenflames orsparks.

Makeasoapsolution bymixing onepart liquid
detergentand onepart water.
TurntheheaterControlKnob tothefull OFF position,
thenturnthegas ON atsource.
Applythesoapsolution toall gas connectionsindi-
catedbythearrows.Seediagram.Ifbubbles appear
inthesoapsolution theconnectionsarenotproperly
sealed.Check each fitting and tightenorrepairas
necessary.

Tolightyourgasheaterbymatch,insertamatch
intothe Lighting Stick and followsteps1through 4
oftheHeaterLightingInstructions.Then,lightthe
matchand placethe Litmatchthrough the Light-
ing Holeon the heaterasshownbelow.Turnthe
ControlKnob tothe setting and holdknob in5-
10 secondstoreleasegasthen rotatethe knob
to.The Burnershouldlightimmediately.
4. Set ControlKnob toOFF and open the LPGas
tankvalve SLOWLY1/4ofaturn.
OpenLPGas tank

Pushand turnthe ControlKnob toand holdknob
in,oncethe burnerislit, keeppressingthe knobfor
10 secondsand then rotatethe knob to.
YoumayhavetopushandturntheControlKnob up
to3or4timestolight.
Ifignitiondoesnotoccurin5seconds,turngasoffat
sourceand turnControlKnob OFF. Waitatleast5
minutesforgastoclear,thenretry.Ifyourheaterstill
failstolight turnthe ControlKnob and gassource
OFF. Wait5minutesforgastoclearand then
conductaleaktestasexplainedintheLPGasTank
Installation of thisguide. If no leaksaredetected,
repeatthelightingprocedure.
AfterBurnerislit,turnthe tankvalveSLOWLYone
more1/4ofaturn.

Cleaning ExteriorStainless SteelSurfaces:
Routinecareand maintenanceisrequiredtopreserve
theappearanceandcorrosionresistanceofstainless
steel.The factisstainlesssteelcancorrode,rustand
discolorundercertainconditions.Rustiscaused when
regularsteelparticles intheatmospherebecomeat-
tached tothestainlesssteelsurface.Steelparticlescan
alsobecomeattached toyourheaterifyou usesteel
woolorstiffwirebrushestoclean theheaterinsteadof
non-abrasivecloth,spongeornylon cleaning tools.In
coastalareasrustpitscandevelopon stainless sur-
faces thatcannotbefullyremoved.Bleach andother

CLEANINGAND MAINTENANCE
Propercareand maintenancewill keepyourheaterintop
operating condition and prolong itslife.Followthese clean-
ing procedures on atimelybasisand yourheaterwill stay
cleanand operatewithminimumeffort.
Beforeinitialuse, andperiodicallythereafter,wesuggest
youwash yourheaterusingamildsoapandwarmwater
solution.Youcanuseawashclothorsponge forthis
process. Donotuseastiffwireorbrassbrush.Thesewill
scratchstainlesssteelandchippaintedsurfaces(variesby
model) duringthe cleaningprocess.
Cleaning ExteriorpaintedSurfaces:
Atleast every3monthsyou must givetheentireheater
athorough cleaning and keeptheheater intop shape.
