Assembly and operation
Installation advice
General use:
The PHR60 baling press is suitable for semi-automatic compacting of bales with dimensions
of 600 x 800 x 400 mm (height x width x depth), which may weigh about 20 –60 kg
depending on the material (paper, rags, plastic). This reduces storage and transport costs.
Description of the operation site:
The equipment can be set up in a location protected from environmental influences on a
partially covered surface. Due to its interchangeability, it can be moved easily.
No special fire protection requirements are required for the operation site.
General fire safety regulations apply. The baling press must only be
operated by a trained person who has full responsibility for the operation.
Installation instructions
The machine should be placed in a location protected from environmental influences
such as rain, snow and frost.
A clearance of at least 1–1.5 m should be left around the machine to ensure free
movement (the so-called safety zone).
A minimum clearance of 1000 mm (1 metre) is required in front of the feeding area
for safe feeding and bale removal.
The power source for operation must be an installed 2P+Z 16A socket, equipped with
a C16 overcurrent circuit breaker and a residual current circuit breaker with a
nominal differential current ≤30mA.
The equipment is connected to the power source using a power cable terminated
with a 2P+Z connector.
Start-up:
1. Reposition the belt or binding cable before loading the chamber.
2. Set the main switch to position 1 ON. (Item 1, Fig. 1)
3. Open the upper chamber door - make sure that the lower door is closed and locked.
4. Stop loading when the level reaches the edge of the chamber side wall (edge under
the piston, pressure hammer).
5. Close and lock the upper door.
6. Select operating mode - AUTO (automatic cycle)
7. In AUTO mode: Press the “AUTO/DOWN” button. The automatic pressing cycle starts
- the press automatically crushes the loaded material and returns to the upper
position, which is indicated by the “UP” button lighting up.
8. Open the upper door and begin with further loading and pressing. Repeat the
procedure until the “READY” indicator light comes on or the operator is sure that the
machine is ready.

Operating Instructions for Baling Press 11675195
10
9. When the “READY” light is illuminated, turn off the pump and go into manual mode
to unload the finished bale. Open and close the loading door again and use the UP
button to raise the pressure plate so that the binding belt can be pulled through.
10. After pulling in the binding belt for the bale, close the door and press the bale again
with the “AUTO/DOWN” button.
11. When the bale has been pressed again, open the upper and lower loading doors and
tie the bale.
Description of bale removal:
1. Pull the bale ejection lever on the pressure plate towards you and turn it 180° to the
right.
2. Stand on the left side of the baling press and press the yellow “PACKAGE OUT”
buttons with both hands. The pressure plate moves up and activates the bale
ejection mechanism. The finished bale falls out of the baling press. Continue lifting
until the upper position of the pressure plate is reached (the “UP” button lights up).
3. Return the bale ejection lever to its left-hand position by turning it 180° clockwise.
The bale ejection mechanism is lowered and baling is now possible again.
Except for the operator, no one should be within a radius of 2 m around the
machine, as a falling bale can cause an accident!!!
Additional advice.
- The baling process can only be started in the upper head position.
- If the automatic baling process needs to be interrupted, press the “EMERGENCY STOP”
button.
- Even in the event of abnormal operation or in order to avoid an accident, the machine
can be stopped by pressing the “EMERGENCY STOP” button (safety switch, Fig.1, item 6).
Binding and ejection of bales:
When the machine reaches the desired bale size, an electronic sensor or proximity switch
stops the machine’s working cycle. The green indicator light indicates that the bale is ready.
The bale piston remains on the pressurised bale. Lift it after the baling process.
The discharge process may only be carried out by the operator!
No one other than the machine operator must be within 2 m of the machine,
as falling bales can cause accidents!
The electronic control system, determined by the discharge mechanism, is
designed so that the appliance only works upwards when the door is open.
It is possible to restart the system in accordance with the switch-on
sequence when the door is closed.
