3. Performance specifications
3.1.Intended use
The PTO pump is a positive displacement pump with roller rotor.
It is mounted directly on the flange of the PTO shaft of a vehicle.
The original, and sole, area of application of the PTO pump is the transfer of non-corrosive, non-
friction, non-viscous fluids such as water. Other uses are conceivable, such as watering plants or
high-pressure washing machines.
Note that the fluid temperature may not exceed 30°.
Any use beyond this is not intended use. The distributor is not liable for any resulting damage; sole
liability rests with the user.
Intended use also includes compliance with operating, maintenance and repair instructions.
The PTO pump may only be used by persons who are knowledgeable about it and the hazards.
The distributor is not liable for damages caused by failure to comply with generally applicable
regulations as well as the instructions in this manual, including inadequate maintenance.

3.4.Assembly instructions and commissioning
After opening the packaging, check that all components are complete and undamaged. If
components are missing or damaged, contact your dealer immediately and use the device only after
approval by the dealer.
This also applies to the connection points on the tractor as well as the safe operating condition of the
connection lines.
Before assembly, check the compatibility of the connection points and make sure that there no plugs
have been left in the openings.
DANGER: Defective and incompatible connection points can interfere with safe use and
cause damage as well as severe personal injury.
NOTE: Check the freedom of movement of the rotor before installing it on the tractor.
Blockage can lead to property damage.
DANGER: Never insert body parts or objects into the suction or pressure side of the pump.
Doing so can result in amputation and property damage.
The PTO shaft and the drive motor must be switched off and secured against starting before doing
any work on the PTO pump or its lines. The vehicle must be secured against rolling and starting.
Pull out the ignition key and apply the parking brake. Place chocks under the rear wheels.
Before doing any work on or with the PTO pump, move the lower link control to a position where
unintended raising or lowering are not possible, and secure it in this position.
DANGER: In the area around the PTO shaft drive and the three-point linkage there is
heightened risk of injury from pinch and shear points, and from moving parts.
When connecting the suction and pressure hoses, make sure that the diameter, cross-section, and
construction of the hose are as specified by the distributor. Make sure the hoses cannot get mistaken
for one another!
The pump can be driven by right or left rotation of the drive unit. For right rotation, the suction hose
must be connected to the connection piece marked “A.”
The hoses must be regularly inspected for damage. If damage is present, do not use. Damaged hoses
must be replaced by hoses that meet the technical specifications of the PTO pump distributor.
The rated operating pressure must never be exceeded, even briefly!!!
DANGER: Defective and insufficiently strong hoses can lead to hazardous situations. This can
result in severe injury. The same goes for improper assembly and for overloading.
NOTE: A filter must be installed at the end of the suction so that foreign objects and particles
do not get into the PTO pump. Filter capacity must be at least 120 microns. Operation
without a filter, or with a filter of insufficient quality, can lead to serious damage inside the
PTO pump.
A. Following the final visual check, place the PTO pump on the connection pin of the vehicle
steering shaft until the pin is fully inserted into the pump recess.
B. Use the safety chain on the PTO pump to prevent the pump from sliding off and twisting.

Operating instructions for PTO pump
Page 7of 12
DANGER: Before taking further action, check the direction of rotation and correct setting of
the PTO shaft speed. The incorrect rotation direction can make the safety chain ineffective.
DANGER: Assemble in the order described here, and use only the components supplied with
the pump. In the event of damage, contact your specialist dealer before use.
IMPORTANT: Incorrect assembly can impair functioning and cause malfunctions. Failure to
observe this can result in accidents and damage.
4. Operating the PTO pump
4.1. Preparation before first use
Before first use and after rectifying malfunctions, the function of the PTO pump must be checked. In
addition to the correct seating and securing with the chain, check the freedom of movement of the
rotor.
Only when it rotates freely should the suction and pressure lines be attached. Check the hoses and
couplings for good sealing and strength.
4.2.Operating the PTO pump
Do not exceed the rated maximum speed of the pump as given in the technical specifications.
DANGER: The PTO pump can only be used if no persons are within range of the pump and its
moving parts.
DANGER: Never touch the pump components of the safety chain when the drive is being
started or the machine is running. Doing so can result in severe injury or death.
Before first use, submerge the suction hose end with the filter attachment in the fluid to be pumped.
Make sure that the filter is at least 25 cm below the surface. During operation make sure that the
filter with the suction hose opening is always under the surface.
IMPORTANT: Dry running can cause serious damage to the PTO pump.
Now power can be applied by means of the PTO shaft. Note that power transfer should start slowly
and gradually go up to the desired speed.
IMPORTANT: Fast, abrupt jumps in power transfer can cause damage to the PTO pump, the
chain and the vehicle anchorage point.
DANGER: The pressure hose must under no circumstances be blocked during operation. If it
is, the pressure increase inside will lead to severe damage and uncontrolled conditions of
the PTO pump and hoses, and overload them. This can result in severe damage and injury.
4.3.Turning off the PTO pump
Slowly and evenly reduce the power transfer by the PTO shaft until the minimum rotation speed on
the tractor is reached. Then turn off the PTO shaft drive.
IMPORTANT: Fast, abrupt changes in power transfer can cause damage to the PTO pump,
the chain or the vehicle anchorage point.
A. After each use, rinse the PTO pump with clean water.
B. Then release the chain from the vehicle anchorage point.
C. The PTO pump can now be taken off the PTO shaft of the vehicle.

Page 8of 12
D. Detach the suction and pressure hoses.
IMPORTANT: After operation, the PTO pump must be allowed to dry on a clean surface with
the opening facing down. The suction and pressure hoses must be emptied and the filter
cleaned.
5. Maintenance and repair
Maintenance and repair work may be performed only by qualified personnel.
Use only original spare and wear parts.
Maintenance, cleaning and repair are permissible only when the system is not under load.
If a paint touch-up is necessary, make sure not to obscure the instruction and product notices. If
necessary, replace them with original spare parts.
Fasteners must be regularly checked for tightness, and tightened as necessary.
Lubrication points should be greased every 10 operating hours with a multi-grade grease.
DANGER: Never perform different kinds of work at the same time and with multiple people.
DANGER: Failure to follow maintenance instructions can lead to serious accidents
and malfunctioning.
DANGER: Do not let any body parts get between moving parts.
IMPORTANT: Non-compliance with the lubrication instructions can cause damage and
malfunctions.

6. Storage
The empty and dry PTO pump should be stored in a dry room where it will not freeze. Prior to
storage, pour about 0.1 litres lubricating oil in the hose connection openings and turn the pump by
hand with a suitable tool to distribute the oil.
Lubricate the bearings with a multi-grade grease.
IMPORTANT: No foreign objects must get into the PTO pump. Close the openings with
suitable threaded plugs (not included with delivery).
7. Disposal
The separate, environmentally friendly disposal of materials encourages recycling of materials.
Therefore, after expiry of the normal service life, the equipment itself and all related components,
including the lubrication, packaging and wear parts, should be disposed of at a recyclables collection
point.
Packaging, equipment and accessories are made of recyclable materials and should be disposed of
accordingly.
If the unit is no longer serviceable, make sure it is unusable before disposal.
DANGER: If you do not have the necessary expertise, engage a specialist for dismantling and
disposal. INJURY HAZARD!
