Assembly instructions - Graupner Impeller Order No. 1371.72
Safety Notes
Please take the time to read right through these instructions before you assemble and use the impeller for the first time. The
Stage photos are a very useful reference, as they provide additional information. It is essential to observe the following points
when test-running the unit and subsequently flying the model.
Warning:
Never stand in front of the impeller, as incorrect assembly or unforeseen circumstances could cause the rotor to come adrift
from the motor shaft and fly off. Never allow any object to touch the spinning rotor, and ensure that it is impossible for anything
to foul the fan when the motor is running. If this should happen, the rotor would suddenly be wildly out of balance, the model
could be severely damaged, and parts flying around at high speed could cause very serious injury to anyone in the vicinity.
Never touch the spinning rotor with any part of your body, and do not attempt to run the impeller whilst holding it in your hand,
as the rotational forces are considerable, causing the unit to spin out of your hand and injure your fingers. Be aware of the
hazards inherent in the use of tools.
Caution:
If you decide to use the intake ring, please note that it must be glued to the stator (the impeller housing), otherwise it could come
loose due to vibration, and foul the fan.
Note:
Check the rotor for damage before every flight, and never attempt to run it if it is defective or damaged in any way. The impeller
may only be operated in conjunction with the components stated by Graupner, and with no more than two LiPo cells. The user
bears the full responsibility for installing and operating the impeller unit. The only way to ensure that the unit is safe in operation,
and does not constitute a hazard to persons and property, is to handle it with care and circumspection at all times. Check before
each flight that all screws and other parts are firmly fixed and secure.
Notes on assembling the impeller unit
