owerBreaker J62-Y is a two pole in-line
portable RCD, designed for use in commercial
and industrial environments where rough
handling is expected. The water resistant
casing of the unit is rated at I 65 (IEC 61540).

This product should be wired with 1.5mm2
3 core flexible cable (BS6500). Connect cable
to the input and output terminals, ensuring
that the following is observed.
• Live/Brown to Brown wire terminal
• Neutral/Blue to Blue wire terminal
• Earth Green/Yellow to Green/Yellow
Terminal
Ensure that there are no loose strands of wire.
To ensure the I rating, terminals and cover
should be sealed with the supplied sealant.
• When fitting plugs, sockets or connectors
follow the accessory manufacturer’s
instructions ensuring that the live, neutral
and earth (if any) cores are connected
correctly and the outer covering of the
cable is firmly secured.
• The plug on the appliance should be
fused in accordance with the appliance
manufacturer’s instructions.
• To maintain the I 65 weather proof
rating of the device, plugs, sockets and
connectors of an equivalent rating must
be used.

• Insert plug into power socket outlet.
• ress and release reset button -
the red indicator should appear in the
window.
• ress the test button - the red indicator
should disappear.
This means the RCD has tripped
successfully, cutting off the power from
the RCD.
• Now press and release the reset button
again, the unit is ready for use.
If the red indicator fails to work as described
above, do not use.
IMPORTANT FOR YOUR PROTECTION
• Electricity is dangerous and an RCD
must not be used as a substitute for
normal precautionary measures.
• Always unplug from mains supply before
any inspection or repair to equipment.
• Do not allow children to tamper with
electrical devices.
• Should your owerBreaker repeatedly
trip with an appliance connected, or fail
to trip when tested, seek advice
immediately from a competent electrician
or return to place of purchase.
• This device will protect against live and
neutral faults to earth. It will not protect
against electric shock due to contact with
both conductors, short circuits between
live and neutral, or a fault in the wiring
supplying this device

Note:
The PowerBreaker Safety In-l ne Portable RCD
has been des gned for storage and use
between -5°C and +40°C at an alt tude no
greater than 2000m above sea level. Care
must be taken not to subject your
PowerBreaker to abnormal pollut on by smoke
chem cal or flammable fumes, salt laden
spray, prolonged per ods of h gh hum d ty,
mmers on, repeated dropp ng, or any other
abnormal cond t ons.
IMPORTANT
After installing the leads to the terminals apply
RTV over three terminals and any exposed
conductors covering all bare metal and VC
insulated inner wires (Brown,Blue,
Green/Yellow). Apply RTV silicon rubber
sealant over the IN UT terminals by squeezing
the tube of RTV over the wiring compartment.
The coating thickness should be at least 3mm.
Use the entire contents of the tube then
discard the empty tube.
Repeat the RTV application using 2nd tube
tube of RTV for the OUT UT terminals.
Only use supplied and approved RTV
The strain relief cover should be installed
immediately without waiting for the RTV to
cure. The cure time at room temperature is
approximately 24 hours. The RCD may be
used as soon as the strain relief cover is
secured.
CAUTION: RTV irritates eyes, RTV may irritate
nose, throat and respiratory tract. RTV may
cause allergic skin sensitivity. Avoid contact
with RTV. Avoid prolonged breathing of RTV
vapours. Avoid prolonged or repeated skin
contact with RTV, wipe off RTV and if RTV
comes in contact with the eye, flush with
water immediately. During use of RTV
Methanol is released. Keep RTV out of use of
children.

line and OUT UT load sides of the unit.
Locate the strain relief cover over the two
screw posts and insert both screws. While
alternating between the strain relief screws
gradually tighten the strain relief while
holding the outer jacket of the wire fully
into the unit until it is held securely.
