INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Please read the information contained in these instructions carefully. It provides important advice regarding
the safe installation, use and maintenance of the unit. These instructions should be kept in a safe place and
passed on to the new owner should the unit be resold.
The manufacturer will accept no liability or damage resulting from failure to observe the
following:
• Ensure packing materials are disposed of properly.
• Any damage to the hand-dryer on delivery should be reported to the supplier before the unit is
connected.
• To ensure the safe operation of the hand-dryer, it should only be installed and connected by a trained
electrician in accordance with the instructions contained in this booklet.
• The hand-dryer should only be used for the purpose for which it is intended.
• Repairs to the hand-dryer should only be carried out by a trained specialist.
Unit must be fixed to a solid supporting wall. Recommended fixing heights to top of unit are as follows:
a. 1.5 metres above floor for normal use.
b. 1.2 metres above floor where average age of user is below 16 years.
c. 1.0 distance above shelves, sinks or radiators.
To ensure ease of installation and subsequent maintenance the horizontal distance to any
adjacent wall should not be less than 2.0 metres.
AFTER IN TALLATION OR ERVICING, UNIT MU T BE CHECKED AND ONLY LEFT WHEN
ELECTRICALLY AND MECHANICALLY AFE.
hould the unit need to be opened at any time, ensure that it is disconnected first. The hand-dryer must
not be installed within range of people using the baths and/or showers.
Drill four holes with a diameter of 6mm where the unit is to be installed, according to the dimensioned
sketch in figure 1, and insert the rawl plugs enclosed. For mounting the hand-dryer, remove its casing; for
purpose, the 2screws in the lower area of the unit are to be removed (refer to figure 2). The casing can
then be lifted upwards and be taken off the mounting base (figure 3) (the black air exit grid remains
resting on the mounting base!). The unit can now be attached to the wall with the four screws enclosed
using the rawl plugs inserted earlier.
Please make sure that the wall is plain and the mounting base is not distorted when screwing on the unit-
ensure the plain fastening of the unit by using plain washers, if necessary!
After having mounted the hand-dryer, replace the casing. The best way to do this is to adjust the lower part
of the casing to the air exit grid and to the plate with the ventilating slits, then to the press it upwards at
the front edge until the upper part of the casing clicks into place at the mounting base. Please do not
forget to fasten the casing with the screws removed at the beginning!
Wire the unit into the nearby fused double pole switch. The hand dryer is now ready to use.
The hand-dryer is intended to be affixed to a vertical wall in industrial and commercial areas and to be
used exclusively for drying hands. The electrician should determine the suitability of area to fit.
The casing can, if necessary, be wiped with a damp cloth. Do not use any caustic or scouring nor solvent-
containing cleaning agents. It may be necessary to clean the two lenses of the proximity sensor at certain
intervals using a soft cloth.
The manual service period for the dryer should be every 3months or more frequent as dictates. Isolate the
unit from the electricity supply before servicing, remove dust, fluff and any other build up of foreign matter
from the inlet and outlet grille areas.
Always ensure that the installation conforms to the current edition of the wiring regulations, B 7671 (UK)
or the appropriate standards in your country.
Ensure that the unit is separately fused with a suitably rated fuse and that it is connected to the supply
with a double pole isolating switch having a contact separation of at least 3mm.
Care should be taken that single insulated conductors cannot come into contact with the mounting
surface.
The hand-dryer contains a heated fan which emits a diagonal jet of warm air downwards. The hand-dryer is
fitted with an infra-red sensor which automatically switched the unit on when hands approach the underside
of the unit. Once the hands have been removed, the fan automatically switches off after a short delay. The
hand-dryer does not, therefore, require an integrated power switch. erving as a safety measure, an automatic
time switch is integrated that switches off the unit after any uninterrupted operation of 1min-a short
movement within the sensor area will immediately switch on the hand-dryer, if required.
