Please take a moment to read through this manual. Its contents will help you to get the best use of
the device.

Safety and Maintenance
To keep your Magnifier in good condition, observe the following guidelines:
1. Read the instructions in this user’s manual before attempting to use the unit.
2. Do not attempt to repair the Magnifier or open its case. This product contains
no user serviceable parts.
3. Keep the Magnifier away from wet areas, rain, and other sources of liquids. Do
not submerge the unit.
4. Always operate the Magnifier in a place where the temperature is between 10℃
and 40℃.
5. Always store the magnifier in a place where the temperature is between 20℃
and 65℃.
6. Do not attempt to force any connector into the unit’s power/video port. All
appropriate connectors should fit easily into the port.
7. Use only the power adaptor that came with the magnifier to charge the battery.
Other adaptors may damage the unit.

GettingStarted
Charging the Battery
Before using the magnifier, you must charge its battery.
1. Plug the small end of the power adaptor into the Power/Video port ⑧
located on the left side of the unit. Then plug the other end of the power
adaptor into a standard AC outlet. The battery indicator LED ② on the front
of the unit will be in red to show that the battery is charging.
2. When the battery is finished charging, the battery indicator LED will be in
green. Unplug the unit. Then the battery indicator LED will turn off.
3. You can now use your magnifier for up to four hours of continuous use.
When the battery is low, there will be low-power indicator blinking
on the right top corner of the panel. Then you have to connect the power
adaptor and plug it in to recharge the battery.
Note: Always turn the magnifier off during charging. The battery will not charge if
the magnifier is left on.

ReadingwiththeMagnifier
To read with the magnifier, operate as the following:
1. Turn on the unit by sliding the Power on/off switch ⑦ located on the left side of
the unit up to ON position.
2. Place the magnifier flat against the text you want to read.
3. Position the crosshair that appears just below the magnify button over the
approximate location where you want to start reading. Anything beneath this
crosshair is magnified and shown on the screen.
4. Slide the unit gradually to the right to read to the end of the line. Slide the unit
down and back to the left to read the next line of text.
5. To change the level of magnification, press the magnify button .
6. To change the colors used on the screen, press the yellow Video Mode button
until you find the mode best suited for your vision needs.
7. To freeze the current image, press the Stop/Play button . Press it again to
release the freeze.

UsingtheMagnifier
Video Mode
Press yellow Video Mode button to cycle through the Magnifier’s seven
different video modes as the following:
Full color
Enhanced positive image (black on white)
Enhanced negative image (white on black)
Yellow on Black
Blue on Yellow
Blue on White
Yellow on Blue
Magnification Adjustment
Press to cycle through the four level of magnification rate.
Freeze Image
Press Stop/Play button to switch between freeze and defreeze the current
image.

Brightness Adjustment
Press button for 3 seconds, the brightness progress bar will display. Then press
Video Mode button to increase and press to lower the brightness.
Low Battery Indication
If battery is low, there will be symbol blinking on the right top side of the screen,
indicating that you have to recharge the battery.

Power Off
Turn on the unit by sliding the Power on/off switch ⑦ located on the left side of the
unit down to OFF position.
To save battery power, please always turn off the Magnifier when not using it.
Writing with the Magnifier
If you want to use the Magnifier while writing, there is a writing stand ⑩ located on
the underside of the unit. This stand elevates part of the unit. As you write or work,
you can see what you are doing on the magnifier’s screen.
To use the writing stand, do the following:
1. Turn the unit over. The writing stand is located in a recessed area near the camera
window.
2. Place your thumb in the well adjacent to the writing stand.
3. Flip up the stand and swing it out until it snaps into position.
4. Turn the unit back over and set it down on a flat surface. You can now write on or
work with the item that is being magnified.
5. When you want to read with the Magnifier, push the stand back down into the
recessed area.

ConnectingtheMagnifiertoaTV
If you need greater magnification than the Magnifier’s 4.3-inch screen, you can
connect the unit to a television by suing the supplied video cable. To connect your
Magnifier to a television, do the following:
1. Insert the 1/8-inch plug on the end of the supplied Y-shaped video cable into the
unit’s Power/Video port.
2. Insert the RCA plug on the video cable into one of your television’s yellow video
input connectors. Refer to your television’s manual for more information on
locating these connectors.
3. Turn on the television. If necessary, switch your television to the appropriate input
channel. Items that you magnify appear on the television screen.
Note: If you want to charge the Magnifier while it is connected to a television,
connect the power adaptor to the connector on the free end of the video cable.

TroubleShooting
Problem Solution
The screen is blank.
Ensure that the power is on.
Charge the battery.
Verify that the item you want to magnify is
Positioned correctly under the crosshairs.
The unit does not turn on. Charge the battery.
The image on the screen is
dark and/or distorted.
Ensure that the unit is positioned flat on the page you
are reading.
The battery indicator LED is
not in red, even though the
power adaptor is connected
and plugged into a wall
socket.
-or-
The battery is not charging.
Plugged into the magnifier’s power/video port.
Ensure that the outlet has power and is not
malfunctioning. If the outlet is connected to a wall
switch, make sure that the switch is on.
There are smudges or
blemishes on the screen
Clean the screen and camera window (located on the
bottom of the unit).
Text is too small to read Press the magnify button.
Magnifier is connected to a
television, but no magnified
image appears on the
television screen.
Ensure that the television is on.
Switch to the appropriate video input channel on
your television.
Ensure that the video cable is securely connected to
the magnifier power/video port and plugged into the
correct video input on your television.

This symbol on the product or in the instructions means that your
electrical and electronic equipment should be disposed at the end of
its life separately from your household waste. There are separate
collection systems for recycling in the EU.
