SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using this appliance the following basic safety
precautions should always be taken.
• Read all instructions.
• Before using check that the voltage of wall outlet
corresponds to rated voltage marked on the rating plate.
• This appliance has been incorporated with a grounded plug.
Please ensure the wall outlet in your house is well earthed.
• To protect against fire, electric shock and injury to persons,
do not immerse cord and plug in water or other liquid.
• Remove plug from wall outlet before cleaning and when
not in use. Allow appliance to cool down completely before
taking off, attaching components or before cleaning.
• Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or
plug or after the appliance malfunctions, or is dropped or
damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest
authorised service facility for examination, repair or
electrical or mechanical adjustment.
• The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the
appliance manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock or
injury to persons.
• Place appliance on flat surface or table, do not hang power
cord over the edge of table or counter.
• Ensure the power cord does not touch hot surface of
appliance.
• Do not place the coffee maker on hot surface or beside fire
in order to avoid to being damaged.
• To disconnect, remove plug from wall outlet. Always hold the
plug. But never pull the cord.
• Do not use appliance for anything other than intended use
and place it in a dry environment.
• Close supervision is necessary when your appliance is being
used near children.
• Be careful not to get burned by the steam.
• Do not touch the hot surface of appliance (such as steam
wand, and the steel mesh just boiling). Use handle or knobs.
• Do not let the coffee maker operate without water.
• Do not remove the metal funnel when appliance is brewing
coffee or making steam.
• Connect plug to wall outlet before using and turn any switch
off before plug is removed from wall outlet.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including
children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning
use of the appliances by a person responsible for their
safety.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not
play with the appliance.
• This appliance is intended to be used in household and
similar applications such as:
• staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working
environments.
• farm houses.
• by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type
environments.
• bed and breakfast type environments.
• Do not use outdoors.
• If you do not use the product for a long time, you need to
turn on the power and then release steam for 3 minutes
before leaving this product.
• If you cut off power during steam release, residual heat will
make product continue to release steam for a length of time,
the product will stop releasing steam immediately once you
turn off steam knob.

To ensure the first cup of coffee tastes excellent, you should
rinse the coffee maker with warm water as follows:
• Fill the water tank, the water level should not exceed the
“MAX” mark in the tank. Then close the water tank cover.
Note: this coffee machine is supplied with a detachable
tank for easy filling and cleaning.
• Insert the coffee filter into the porta-filter (no coffee in the
filter), make sure to align the notch on the filter with the
groove inside the porta-filter. Turn the filter to the left or
right to lock in place.
• Connect the porta-filter to the dock and turn it anti-
clockwise until it is fixed tightly. The porta-filter handle
should be pointing forwards.
• Place a cup on the removable shelf. Make sure the steam
control knob is in the OFF position.
• Connect to power source, press the ON/OFF button to
turn on the machine. The blue power indicator will be
illuminated.
• Press the coffee button , the pump will pump water.
When there is water flowing out, close the pump by pressing
the coffee button again.
• Press the steam button and wait for a moment. The
appliance will begin preheating until coffee button is
illuminated, this means the preheating has finished.
• Press the coffee button , water will flow out.
• After water has flowed for 1 minute, press the coffee button
, you can pour out the water from the cup then clean
them thoroughly, now you can start brewing coffee.
Note: There may be noise when pumping the water for the first
time, it is normal, the appliance is releasing the air inside.
After about 20s, the noise will disappear.
BEFORE FIRST USE PREHEATING
To make a cup of good hot Espresso coffee, we recommend you
preheating the appliance before making coffee, including the
porta-filter, coffee filter and cup, so that the coffee flavour can
not be influenced by the cold parts.
• Remove the detachable tank and fill it with desired water,
the water level should be between the “MAX” mark and
the “MIN” mark in the tank. Then insert the tank into the
appliance properly.
• Insert the coffee filter into the porta-filter (no coffee in the
filter), make sure to align the notch on the filter with the
groove inside the porta-filter. Turn the filter to the left or right
to lock in place.
• Connect the porta-filter to the dock and turn it anti-clockwise
until it is fixed tightly. The porta-filter handle should be
pointing forwards.
• Place an espresso cup on removable shelf.
• Connect the appliance to power supply. Make sure the steam
control knob is on the OFF position.
• Press the ON/OFF button to turn on the unit, the power
indicator turns on and the coffee button indicator will
start blinking. After finish preheating, the coffee indicator
light stops blinking and turns solid blue.
• Press the coffee button , when there is water flowing out
close the pump immediately. The purpose of the step is to
pump the water of the tank into the housing.
• Wait for the coffee button to illuminate, you should press
the coffee button again, there will be hot water flowing
out.
• After water has flowed filling the cup, press the coffee button
again to stop the flow. The preheating has finished.

• Remove the porta-filter by turning it in clockwise.
• Add ground coffee to the filter with the measuring scoop, a
spoon of ground coffee powder can make about a cup of top-
grade coffee, then press the ground coffee powder tightly
with the press.
• Insert the coffee filter into the porta-filter, make sure to
align the notch on the filter with the groove inside the porta-
filter. Turn the filter to the left or right to lock in place.
• Connect the porta-filter to the dock and turn it anti-
clockwise until it is fixed tightly. The porta-filter handle
should be pointing forwards.
• Pour out the hot water in the cup. Then place your hot cup
on the removable cup shelf.
• Make sure the steam control knob is in the OFF position.
• Once the coffee button stops blinking press the coffee
button ,there will be coffee flowing out.
• Press the coffee button again when the desired amount
of coffee is obtained or the colour of coffee changes to a
lighter colour - indicating it is weak.
WARNING: Do not leave the coffee maker unattended
during making the coffee, as you need to operate it
manually sometimes!
• After finishing making coffee, press the ON/OFF button
The power indicator and coffee indicator will go out and the
coffee maker will stop working. Your coffee is ready now.
• You can take the porta-filter out by turning clockwise, then
pour the coffee residue out with the coffee filter pressed by
pressing the bar.
• Let them cool down completely, then rinse under running
water.
You get a cup of cappuccino when you top up a cup of espresso
with frothed milk.
Method:
• Prepare espresso first with a container big enough
according to the part “MAKING ESPRESSO COFFEE”, make
sure that the steam control knob is in the OFF position.
• Press the steam button , the indicator light will start
to blink. Wait for the light to stop blinking indicating it’s
reached the correct temperature.
• Fill a jug with about 100 ml of milk for each cappuccino to
be prepared, you are recommended to use whole milk at
refrigerator temperature (not hot!).
• In order to get better milk foam performance, open steam
knob for approximately 15 seconds without putting it in the
milk yet. This will clear out any cold water in the system.
Then put the knob back to OFF position and conduct the
next step.
NOTE: Often when the steamer is first used, hot water will
come out when turned on. Make sure a cup or some paper
is put down to catch any water.
• Insert the steam wand into the milk about two centimetres
deep, then turn the steam knob slowly anti-clockwise.
Steam will come out from the steam wand. Move the jug
around, up and down to froth the milk.
Note: Never touch steam outlet during steam jetting and be
careful not to get burnt.
Note: Never turn the steam control button rapidly, as the
steam will accumulate rapidly in short time which may
increase the potential of the risk of explosion.

• When frothing of the milk is complete, you can turn the
steam knob back to the OFF position.
• Best temperature for frothed milk is 70ºC. There will be
plenty of steam coming from it.
• After frothing the milk, put an empty jug under the steam
wand, then turn on the steam knob and press down the
coffee button for 30 seconds, then turn it off again. This
will clean out the steam tube.
• Finally, clean the steam wand with a wet sponge, but take
care not to get burnt!
• Press and release the ON/OFF button to switch the machine
off.
• Pour the frothed milk into the prepared espresso. Now the
cappuccino is ready.
• Sweeten if desired and sprinkle the froth with a little cocoa
powder.
WARNING: After finishing the “Steam” function, press
the coffee switch, if the coffee indicator is blinking fast,
it means that the temperature of the appliance is too
high and the appliance needs to be turned off and have
a rest for more than 5 minutes, or you can activate the
“Hot water” function to cool down the appliance. When
the indicator light stops flashing quickly, press the coffee
button again,the pump stops working and the coffee can be
brewed normally.
When the preheating is finished, the coffee indicator lights up
solidly. Then press the coffee button and the water pump
starts to pump water. Turn the steam knob to “Hot water”, and
then hot water will flow out of the steam pipe. To stop making
hot water, press the coffee switch again. Hot water is used for
warming cups, making tea or cooling down the appliance.
NOTE: The maximum working time of the hot water pump is
60 seconds.
If there is no operation within 25 minutes, the appliance will
power off automatically.
• Cut off power source and let the coffee maker cool down
completely before cleaning.
• Clean housing of coffee maker with moisture-proof sponge
often and clean water tank, drip tray and removable shelf
regularly then dry them.
Note: Do not clean with alcohol or solvent cleanser. Never
immerse the housing in water for cleaning.
• Detach the metal funnel by turning it clockwise, get rid of
coffee residue inside, then you can clean it with cleanser, but
at last you must rinse with clear water.
• Clean all the attachments in the water and dry thoroughly.

To ensure your coffee maker can operate efficiently the internal
piping must be clean so as not to affect the flavour of the coffee.
You should clean away the mineral deposits left every 4 weeks
- if you live in a hard water area every 2 weeks. Or you can use
bottled water and none of this will be necessary!
1 Fill the tank with water and descaler to the MAX level (the
scale of water and descaler is 4:1, the detail refers to the
instruction of descaler. Please use “household descaler”, you
can use the citric acid (obtainable from chemist’s or drug
stores) instead of the descaler (the one hundred parts of
water and three parts of citric acid).
2 Press the ON/OFF button to turn on the unit, and the coffee
button indicator will start blinking. After finished
preheating, the coffee indicator light stop blinking and turn
solid blue.
3 Press the coffee button , when there is water flowing
out, close the pump immediately.
4 Once the coffee indicator light stops blinking, press the coffee
button and allow two coffee cups of water flow out of the
unit. Then press the coffee button again to stop.
5 Press the steam button , the indicator light will start to
blink. Wait for the light to stop blinking indicating it’s reached
the correct temperature.
6 Place a cup under the steam wand and open the Steam knob
and steam for 2 minutes, then turn the Steam knob to the off
position.
7 Press the ON/OFF button to turn on the unit immediately,
leave the descaler in the unit for at least 15 minutes.
8 Empty the tank and refit with clean water. Restart the unit and
repeat the above steps at least 3 times - with clean water.
DESCALING TROUBLESHOOTING
