you

eyelet

usea roundwoodentoothpickafterheatingeach
eyelet.
Nowpositiontherightmodule(withthe
breaker
atthefrontwhenthelongrowof
eyelets
is
next
tothe
chassis)
withthecircuitboardup,againstthe
chassis.
Wires
willbeconnectedfromthetopotthe
board,
andthey
mustbesolderedtotheunderside.
Even
thoughtheconnect-
ing
wireswillberatherlongwhentheamplifieriscompleted,
theyarejustlongenoughtoreachnow,soworkingroomis
limited.
Itis
best
to
heat
the
eyelet
frombelowwhilethewire
isinsertedfromabove.
That
requires
an
iron
withasmallflat
chiseltip—and
some
careonyourpart.Itis
easiest
tomelta
small
blobofsolderonthetip,andpositionitunderthe
eyelet
sothatthesolderblob,morethanthetip
itself,
isheat-
ing
the
eyelet.
Ifthe
eyelet
isfirstfilledwithsolder,andthe
wireendpushedallthewaythroughtheheated
eyelet
first,
thenwithdrawnpartwayto
expose
a bitofthebareend
abovetheboardbeforethesoldercools,youshouldhavea
firmly
solderedconnectionifit
cools
undisturbed.
Always
tinawirethatistoconnecttoan
eyelet.
After
solder-
ing,
gobackandcheckbytwistingeachwire,tomakesure
nothing
moves
ontheother
side
ofthe
board.
Becareful,too,
thatyoudon'tloosenexistingconnections.toadjacent
eyelets.
Fora bitbetter
access
to
these
connections,youmay
wishtoremovethethreemounting
screws
toallowthecircuit
board
