TRUMPET MC Phonostage

Description
The Trumpet MC is a world- lass phonostage suitable for the most demanding of
audiophiles. This 3rd generation model maintains the superb soni performan e of the
original, while leverly utting osts via te hnologi al advan ements. The ir uit remains
fully balan ed from input to output, in luding power supply. Equalization is split-passive
with no feedba k employed anywhere, resulting in a neutral non-fatiguing soni
presentation. Heaters are DC and a highly spe ialized internal low-noise boost onverter
generates B+ and B- rails (after a 40-se ond delay). A novel differential JFET front-end
provides variable gain and loading apabilities needed for MC operation. With this
flexibility any artridge an be used, even MM. Premium omponents are used
throughout, su h as polypropylene apa itors and metal film resistors. The aluminum
hassis has a rugged powder oat, and is designed to mat h the Tuba.

peration
The Trumpet MC onne ts as any other phonostage, between artridge and stereo
re eiver (linestage). There is only one set of RCA inputs and outputs.
Make sure turntable ground wire (if it has one) onne ts to ground lug on rear. Conne t
inputs and outputs. Keep hassis away from sour es of disruptive noise, su h as power
transformers within other equipment. Plug in wall-wart supply.
Unit is powered on by pressing front panel pushbutton. After roughly 40 se onds of
delay, the internal high voltage supplies will turn on. When both LEDs are lit, unit is
ready for use.
Best operation is to run LOADING as high as possible ( lo kwise) and GAIN as low as
possible ( ounter- lo kwise). MM artridges will only fun tion properly with LOADING
set to 47k and gain at 45dB.
Not all va uum tubes are mat hed for gain. If you experien e a hannel gain imbalan e,
try swapping positions of the 12AX7 tubes around to find a better mat h.
