The assemb y is now ready for initia testing. Connect the power supp y to the DC
jack. P ug the supp y into the wa , and the LED shou d turn on. Some of the power
supp ies have a few seconds of de ay so don’t panic. Disconnect.
E ectrica test
Add the grounding bracket using the #6 x 1/4” screw. Make sure the f at surface
faces rearward and is a igned with the edge of circuit board.
Insta ground bracket
Modify end pane s by dri ing 3 ho es in each (for RCA jacks, ground, and power).
Modify end pane s
Insert circuit board assemb y into the bottom section of the p astic enc osure. Do this
by p acing end pane s (textured surface outwards) onto the RCA jacks and then
dropping into position. Secure in p ace using the #4 x 3/8” screws.
Insert board into enc osure
Add the #6 x 1/2” ground screw through the bracket and secure using #6 nut. Add
#6 thumbscrew (not too tight).
Insta ground post
Turn unit over and add rubber feet. And fina y, app y top cover and secure in p ace
using the four remaining screws.

Installation
Congratu ations! Your Bug e2 is now comp ete and ready for insta ation.
Testing
If you have a DVM you can perform additiona e ectrica testing prior to insta ation.
With power app ied, the DC vo tage on the outputs shou d read 0V (or ess than
20mV). The vo tages (re ative to the grounding post) on pin 8 of the opamps shou d
be a positive vo tage of rough y +10V. Each opamp wi have a different reading, as
the extensive fi tering is ossy, so the input opamps have the owest vo tage. The
vo tages on pin 4 of the opamps wi be negative, rough y –10V.
If you want to measure bandwidth or frequency response, you wi need an iRIAA
fi ter, a sinewave osci ator, and either an osci oscope or AC vo tmeter. A quick check
for equa ization accuracy is to app y a 500Hz square wave. The output waveform
shou d be identica in shape. If there are droops, sags, overshoots, or spikes, the EQ
is in error. If you have bui t the unit per these instructions such testing is not
necessary.
Operation
Connect a cab e between output jacks and your audio system. Attach the turntab e
ground wire to the grounding post and connect the turntab e RCA output p ugs into
the Bug e2 input jacks. P ug in the power supp y. Enjoy!
The Bug e2 must get an Earth ground from the inestage or receiver via the
connecting cab es; otherwise there wi be hum. If the inputs to the inestage are
f oating, then add an extra ground wire to the Bug e2.
Trou leshooting
If the sound is not good, doub e-check a resistor va ues to make sure they were
insta ed into their correct ocations.
If a channe has a scratchy sound to it (not a nice c ean, quiet hiss) then it is ike y
the input opamp has been damaged and shou d be rep aced. These devices are very
sensitive to ESD and precautions must be taken. Hum, buzz, and other noise sources
(WiFi) can be induced into the Bug e2 and/or input cab es via c ose proximity. P ace
as far from other equipment as possib e.
