IP66 Electronic Caliper
1. Maintenance Instructions:
1.1 Before using the IP66 Electronic Caliper, clean the measuring faces as
well as the surface of the protective sticker with dry and clean cloth (or
soaked with cleaning oil). Don´t use resolvent like aceton or benzol.
Prevent any hydrous liquid from the protective sticker.
1.2 Never apply voltage (e. g. engraving with an electric pen) on any part of
the IP66 Electronic Caliper for fear of damaging the circuit.
1.3 Avoid strong magnetic fields for fear of damaging the electronic.
1.4 As soon as the instrument would be opened from the user the guarantee
will be cancelled – except change of battery.

4. Functions:
4.1 Zero setting at any position.
4.2 mm/inch system interchange at any position.
4.3 Switch-over between relative and absolute measurement.
5. Operation with the IP66 Electronic Caliper:
5.1 Readiness for operation:
5.1.1 Clean the surface of the protective sticker with dry and clean cloth (or
soaked with cleaning oil).
5.1.2 Loosen the locking screw and then press the REL button to switch on the
electronic. Move the slider in order to check if the LCD and all the
buttons work properly.
5.2 Measurement:
5.2.1 Press mm/inch button to select the desired unit system.
5.2.2 Move the slider so that the two outside measuring faces touch gently, then
press REL button to set zero in order to start measuring.
5.2.3 Operation of REL button:
For switch on and manual switch off as well as for zero setting.
Furthermore you can preset a positive correction value, if you choose the
ABS mode (see next point)
5.2.4 Operation of ABS button:
As soon as the IP66 Electronic Caliper will be switched on it is in the
relative measurement mode (display does show “REL”) After pressing the

ABS button it will change to the absolute measurement mode. The display
does show “ABS” and “0.00”. Now you can preset a positive correction value.
In this case please keep pressing the ABS button for more than 2 sec. The
display will show SET and the first digit is flashing. After pressing the ABS
button again shortly it will change to the next digit also flashing. Now press
short the REL button in order to preset the desired correction value. If you
keep pressing the REL button the electronic will count up the digits, if desired
until the last digit. As soon as the desired preset of correction value is
finished repress the ABS button again more than 2 sec. Now you can work
with the value of the preset.
After repressing the REL button the IP66 Electronic Caliper will return back to
the relative measurement mode and will keep the original zero point.
Battery Replacement
Abnormal display (unclear display, digits flashing or even no display) shows a
flat battery and it should be replaced. Firstly remove the plastic battery cover
and then loosen the 3 screws from the metal cover. Take out old button cell
and replace a new one (pay attention that the positive pole must face out).
Make sure to fix the seal in a proper way and then fix tightly the 3 screws on
the metal cover.
In case of ingress of moisture or water into the battery cover please take off
battery immediately and dry the battery cover, best with warm compressed air.
