Safety Information
Before using the camcorder, please read and understand the following
safety precautions:
• Do not try to open the body of the DV or change the DV in any way.
Only authorized service personnel are allowed to open the DV.
• Keep the DV away from water and other liquids when in use. Do
not use the DV with wet hands. Never use the DV in rain or snow.
Moisture can easily cause electric shock.
• Use only the recommended power supply and accessories. Using
other power supplies can cause overheating, damage to the unit,
fire and electric shock.

Preparation before Shooting
Loading Battery
1. Open the Battery Door.
2. Load the lithium battery into the battery box according to the
polarity marks.
3. Close the Battery Door after loading the battery.
4. Charging Lithium Battery: When the battery power of the DV is
insufficient, recharge the battery by connecting it to the power
adapter or computer with the USB cable. The Charging Indicator
Light will turn green when charging is complete.

Inserting Memory Card
The DV has no built-in memory, and cannot store videos or image files
without installing an SD card. Always turn off the DV before inserting or
taking out a memory card.
Be sure that the card is inserted in the correct direction. Do not force the
card to go in, as that may indicate you have it in the wrong direction.
There is a write-protect switch on the memory card to prevent accidental
deletion of data. Therefore, please put the write-protect switch in the
shut-off position if you want to delete files.
1. Power off the DV.
2. There is an SD card rubber cover at the rear end of the DV. When
you open the rubber cover, you will see the SD slot.
3. Insert the Memory Card as shown in the picture.
4. Close the SD card rubber cover.
Press the edge of the Memory Card in slightly to
load. Press the edge and release to eject.·After
you insert a new card, please format before use.

Formatting Memory Card
All the data in the Memory Card (including protected files) will be
deleted when the Memory Card is formatted. Therefore, please back up
any important files before formatting.
1. Turn on the DV, Press the MENU button to enter menu interface,
press the Left/Right button to select setup menu, then press the Up /
Down button and select Format.
2. Press the OK button to enter the submenu under this option.
3. Press the Up/ Down button, select Yes, then press the OK button
to Format, select No,press the OK button to return to the main
interface.
Setting Languages
When using the DV for the very first time, you may select/set a desired
language.
1. Turn on the DV, Press the MENU button to enter menu interface,
Press the Left /Right button to select the set up menu.
2. Press the Up /Down button, select Language, then press the OK
button to enter the submenu under language option.
3. Press the Up /Down button to select the language you need, then
press the OK button to confirm and return the main interface.

Turning the DV On/Off
1. Open the LCD screen, and press the On/Off button to turn DV on.
2. Press the On/Off button to turn off the DV, when the DV is on.
In order the save power, the DV will power off automatically within a
certain time. You can press the On/Off button again to power on the
DV. You can also set a desired time before an auto power-off.

Mode Switch
1. Press the On/Off button to turn on the DV.
2. Press the Mode button to change the working mode of the DV.
Pressing the Mode button each time runs through the modes.

Video Recording Mode Record a video file
Photography Mode Shoot a static picture
Playback Mode Browse recorded files
Video Recording
1. When you turn on the DV, the default mode is Video Recording
Mode. You can press the Mode button to change to the desired
working mode.
2. Press the Video button to begin video recording, and press the Video
button again to stop recording. The DV will stop video recording
automatically if the memory of the Memory Card is full.

Taking Photos
1. Turn on the DV, press the Mode button to enter Photography Mode
2. Find a view for the image you want through the LCD screen, and
press the Shutter button to take photos.
• The number shown on the LCD screen will be lessened by one
automatically after a photo is taken. For example. if the number
shown is 018, the number on the LCD screen will become 017
after a photo is taken, and will display “Insufficient Space” if the
Memory Card is full.
• Don’t hide the lens with your fingers or wristlet when taking
photos.
• Press the LED Switch button to turn on the LED light when the
light is insufficient.
How to Use the Self-Timer
Use Self-Timer to set the delay time after pressing the shutter and
before taking a photo.
1. Turn on the DV, set the mode of the DV into Photography Mode.
2. Press the Menu button until you see the photography menu.
3. Press the Left or Right button to select Self-Timer Mode, then press
UP/DOWN to select desired time period.

Self Timer options:
1. Off
2. Selecting “2” secs – Delays shutter release for 2 seconds.
3. Selecting “5” secs – Delays shutter release for 5 seconds.
4. Selecting “10” secs – Delays shutter release for 10 seconds.

4. Press the OK Button to confirm your settings for delay and return to
the main menu. Then press the shutter button to take your photos.
DV Menu Settings in Detail
When a menu option is shown, you can press Left/Right /Up/Down
buttons to enter the option which you want to set.
Menu in Video Recording Mode
1. Turn on the DV. The default mode is Video Recording Mode.
2. Press the Menu button to show the menu in Video Recording Mode.
3. Press the Left /Right button to select an option
4. Press the Up / Down button to select details within the option, then
press the OK button to confirm and return to the main menu.

Functions Selecting Desired Options and Settings
Resolution Selecting small size will take up less memory
but quality will be reduced. Options include:
HD (Default – 1920x1080); 1280x720;
640x480; 320x240.
Scene You can select different scenes while recording
your Video using these selections. Auto, Night,
Portrait, Scenery, Backlight, Sport, Party, Beach,
High Sensitivity, Cancel.
White Balance Adjust White Balance to make images appear
more natural. Options include: Auto, Daylight,
Cloudy, Tungsten, Fluorescent, and Cancel.
Exposure Manually set over or under the Exposure
of your video, to compensate for special
conditions such as low indoor light, back
light or strong light. Levels of Exposure
Compensation is from -3.0 to +3.0.
ISO Adjusts the light sensitivity of the video image
sensor. Auto, 100, 200, 400, Cancel.
Anti-Shake Reduces movement when camera is handheld.
Off, On, Cancel.

Menu in Photography Mode
1. Turn on the DV, press Mode button to Photography Mode.
2. Press the Menu button to show the menu in the Photography Mode.
3. Press the Left /Right button to select an option..
4. Press the Up or Down button to select an option, then press the OK.
Functions Selecting Desired Options and Settings
Resolution Set the size of pictures. Options include:
5M (Default): 18M (4896x3672);
16M (4608x3456); 12M (4000x3000);
10M (3648x2736); 8M (3264x2448);
7M HD (3648x2048); 5M HD (2592x1944);
3M (2048x1536); 2M HD (1920x1080) HD/VGA
(640x480).
Scene You can select different scenes while taking
pictures. Similar to those in Video Recording
Mode. Options include: Auto, Night, Portrait,
Scenery, Backlight, Sport, Party, Beach, High
Sensitivity, and Cancel.

Image Quality Selecting a lower image quality may reduce the
space occupied by images so as to take more
pictures. Options in Image Quality include: Super-
Fine, Fine, Normal, and Cancel.
Exposure Manually set over or under the exposure of your
photo, to compensate for special conditions such
as low indoor light, back light or strong light.
Options for levels of exposure are -3.0 to +3.0.
ISO Adjusts the light sensitivity of the camera to light.
Options are: Auto, 100, 200, 400, Cancel.
Face Detect Options are: Off, On, Cancel.
Smile Capture Options are: Off, On, Cancel.
Anti-Shake Options are: Off, On, Cancel.
Date Stamp Options are: Off, On, Cancel.
Effect Add a Special Effect to enhance your photo.
Options: Normal, B&W, Sepia, Red, Green, Blue,
Sunset, Warm, Cool, Over Exposure, IR/Binary,
Vivid, Undertone, Dog Eye, Aibao, Gothic, Japan
Style, LOMO, Negative, and Cancel.

Setup Menu
1. Turn on the DV, and press the Menu button to enter menu mode.
2. Press the Left /Right button to select Setup.
3. Press Up /Down button to select an option in Setup. In some cases,
there is a sub-menu.
4. Press the OK button to enter any sub menu, then press Up/Down
button to select your option.
5. Press the OK button to confirm and return the main interface.
Functions Selecting Desired Options and Settings
Language Select a language from the following options:
English, German, French, Spanish, Italian,
Portuguese, Dutch, Japanese, Chinese.
Date Setup Set the year, month, hour, min and sec. Press left/
right/down/up/ to choose, then Press OK when
completed.
Auto
Power-off
To save power, the DV will power off automatically
after a period of idle time. Options are: 1 minute,
3 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, and Cancel.
Frequency The Power Frequency is set at 60HZ or 50HZ
according to your location.
TV Output NTSC/PAL or Cancel.

Sound Effect Off/On or Cancel.
Format Formatting will permanently delete all the data
on the Memory Card, including locked files.
Back-up of important files is recommended before
formatting.
Default
Settings
This will revert all menu and button settings back
to initial factory settings.

Playback
Video Playback
1. Turn on the DV and press Mode to enter playback mode.
2. Press the Left or Right button to select the video file you want to
play.
3. Press the OK button to begin playing. Press the OK button to pause
playing, and press the OK button again to continue playing. Press the
Video Record button to stop playing.
Photo Playback
1. Set the DV into the Playback Mode. The last file taken will be shown
on the LCD screen first. “No Files” will appear if the memory card is
empty.
2. Press the Left or Right button to browse the previous or next image.
Other Functions In Playback Mode
Thumbnails
Press the Down button in Playback Mode to enter the Thumbnail File
Browse Mode. Press the Up/Down/Left/Right button to select files. Press
OK to browse files, full screen.

Deleting Files
Delete files using the deletion function in the playback menu.
1. Press the Menu button in the Playback Mode to enter into the menu
interface.
2. Press the Right/Left button and select File Deletion.
3. Press the Up or Down button to select the option you want.
Options are: This Image, All or Cancel.
4. Press the OK button to enter into the corresponding deletion dialog
box, and press the Up or Down button to select Yes or No.
5. Press the OK button to confirm deletion.
Menu in Playback Mode
1. Press the Menu button in Playback Mode to display playback menu.
2. Press the Left or Right button to select the options you need.
3. Use the Up/Down buttons to select specific functions.
4. Press the OK button to confirm this setting and quit the menu.
