day life into consideration.
We are sure that you have chosen us because you were not looking for a product with the obligation of
installation, with high maintenance costs, one that is cumbersome and without a doubt you didn’t want the
presence of a technician at home for every lter change.
This is why we have created a product tailored for you.
For any information or requirement, please visit our website or contact us. Our after-sales assistants will
resolve any of your needs.
Goodbye for now.

USEFUL KEY:
PRESSURE
The term “key press” means the resting of a nger for more than 0.3 seconds on the desired icon. If the
time is less (for example during cleaning operations or drumming actions on the display by children, the
buttons do not activate, thereby avoiding accidental activations. This is also valid for exit from stand-by
(zone pressure active for at least 0.3s).
INSTALLATION OF THE CO2 CYLINDER
1. HOW TO OPEN THE CYLINDER COMPARTMENT::
Open the cylinder compartment of the ZERO system, making it slide
outwards. Grip it using the lower raised part on the front.
2. HOW TO INSTALL THE CO2 CYLINDER:
Remove the seal and the cap from the CO2 cylinder. Insert the CO2
cylinder in the dedicated compartment on the front of the ZERO
HappyFrizz® system and turn it clockwise by applying light pressure
until it is in position. To tighten, do so only manually: do not use
tools of any kind.
3: HOW TO CLOSE THE CYLINDER COMPARTMENT
Rest the lid on the compartment slide and push to the left following
the appropriate track.

FIRST ACTIVATION PROCEDURE :
IMPORTANT NOTES:
The rst activation however takes place in tank mode. ZERO performs an automatic check-up to verify the
functioning of all the internal components present. If the lter is not mounted, the rst activation cannot be
completed as the natural water bottle cannot be calibrated (emptying of the external tank during the rst
70 s).
Your ZERO system has in any case been tested by our experienced staff before being packed. All the ZERO
systems undergo stress tests and functional checks, which is why it is normal to nd a few drops of water in
the device (added to a sanitising substance). With the FIRST ACTIVATION procedure the sanitising residues
are expelled.
▶WARNING: During the rst lling phase gurgling sounds can be heard due to the presence of air inside
the hydraulic circuit. These normally disappear at the end of the rst activation
(“dead” times between the various phases allow the accumulation of air in areas where it is easily expelled
in the next phase)..
▶WARNING: This action is only required for the rst installation.
▶WARNING: In the event of malfunctions, the maintenance light (wrench) comes on. In this case, contact
customer service: Fill the external tank with tap water; Position a suitable container to collect the water
that is dispensed.
> Fill the external tank with tap water.
> Position a suitable container to collect the water that is dispensed
(this step will activate your lter).
NOTE: we also recommend using a support under the container to keep
it stable (see page 22).
The water supplied must not be ingested but, to avoid wasting it, you
can use it for your plants.
INSERT THE FILTER::
> Remove the protective lm from the cartridge, keeping sharp tools
away from the red circled part;
> Dip the tip of the lter (area circled in red) in a glass of water to
improve the seal of the gaskets.
> Insert the lter in the appropriate slot of your Zero taking care to keep
the ns pointing upwards and in the position indicated by the black
arrow;
> Press the lter down and turn it clockwise.
> After a 90° rotation the lter is secured (rotation limit) as shown in the
gure. If the lter does not lock, reposition it as in the previous gure
and repeat the rotation operation.

O
TANK LEVEL DEPLETION
If the user uses the water until the external tank runs out of water, the capacitive sensor detects the reaching
of the minimum level and the drop light on the display lights up.
By partially relling the external tank the crossed drop light goes off and the dispensing buttons and
temperature adjustment buttons are turned back on until stand-by. The crossed drop light also comes on
when the external tank is removed (for example for cleaning or lling).
If the external tank runs out before lling of the internal tank, in addition to the external tank level light, an
intermittent beep is activated immediately.
Simply ll the external tank.
NOTE COLD WATER DISPENSING:
During lling of the internal tank, the extraction of water is inhibited, the cold water and natural water buttons
are off. If the water in the external tank ends (with the buttons turning off and the tank level light turning on)
during the internal tank lling operations, the phase will be completed when the water in the external tank
is relled.
GENERAL NOTE WATER DISPENSING:
The user can take cold water at any time, even if the set temperature is not reached.
HOW TO CALIBRATE THE BOTTLE (in the period following the rst use):
> Keep the cold water or ambient water button pressed for 5 seconds (in the meantime the machine will
start dispensing at the rst touch without waiting for 5 seconds); during the 5 seconds DO NOT remove
your nger from the button.
> The dispensing time adjustment procedure has been activated
> The button starts flashing;
> Take your nger off the button;
> Press the button again (simply place your nger on it for a minimum of 0.3 s) to stop the water;
> At this point the new automatic open/close time is recorded.
At the end of the cold water bottle calibration the machine always lls the internal tank. Calibration of the
cold water bottle is only possible when the internal tank is full; the function is therefore inhibited after the
extraction of cold water.
The maximum cold water setting programming time is 23 s, while for the ambient temperature it is 85 s.

TEMPERATURE CUSTOMISATION:
The user can adjust the water temperature differently than the automatic pre-set temperature (10°C), to
between a minimum of 6°C and a maximum of 30°C. The temperature adjustment buttons and the relative
indicator are not normally active (stand-by after 20 s). Pressing an active area ofthe display, the + and -
buttons come on. Pressing the buttons changes the SET temperature, which is stored.
We recommend setting the temperature between 8 and 12 degrees. This is the IDEAL TEMPERATURE
range that allows you to have cold water, reduced consumption and longevity of your ZERO system.
STAND BY - ZERO ECO MODE
After 90 seconds of inactivity of the machine (end of operations in progress, including internal tank rell, and
not pressing a button), the display goes into stand-by (display lights deactivated in fading).
Pressing the active parts of the display the machine exits stand-by, turning the dispensing buttons and the
temperature regulator back on. The temperature controller goes into standby after 20 s.
The temperature regulator does not exit stand-by in the event of the dispensing buttons being pressed. This
is due to the splitting of the display into two areas: dispensing buttons area and temperature regulation area
(to exit the temperature regulator from stand-by, press in the right area).
HOW TO INSTALL THE ZERO SYSTEM ON THE NETWORK
NETWORK CONNECTION KIT INSTALLATION
ZERO for your convenience can also be installed directly to the home network thanks to the installation kit.
Visit the website www.happyfrizz.it for further information.
ONLY INSTALL ZERO WITH THE ZERO INSTALLATION KIT. This kit alone, in addition to facilitating
installation, ensures perfect operation of your ZERO. Failure to use this kit will void the product warranty.
Carefully read the instructions in the user manual of the ZERO network installation kit.
Once installed, proceed as follows.
ATTENTION: the machine water inlet pressure must not exceed 5 bar and must not be less than 2 bar.
TRANSFER FROM WATER TANK (only if it is installed on the network)
The transition from “tank” to “water network” takes place in this manner:
→Press the sanitisation button for 5 s (button off), the natural water
button starts flashing;
→Press the natural water button, the natural water button turns off and
the sanitisation button starts flashing;
→Press the sanitisation button for 5 seconds to conrm switching to the water network.
The change from tank to the water network is also possible with an empty external tank (barred drop light
on). The customised calibration times that may have been set are reset to the default values.
In the event of an incomplete sequence (exceeding the maximum time for completing the sequence)
nothing happens.
The sequence is not possible with the sanitisation indicator on (ZERO gives precedence to this activity).
5 SEC.
At the end of the sequence open the shut-off valve.
OPEN
Once the network system is connected, we recommend that you empty
the external tank, dry it with a cloth and put it back in place on the ZERO.
You can use the external tank during the sanitisation/descaling procedure.
ATTENTION: once connected to the network, check that there are no leaks
along the path of the connection pipe and check that the same pipe is not
compressed or narrowed caused by excessive bending of the pipe.
HOW TO CARBONATE THE WATER
1. Before creating the carbonated water, ll the carbonating bottle with cold water up to the lling line.
2. Insert the bottle into the holder and twist. To facilitate twisting, pull the tube towards you to tilt the block.
Reposition the bottle in vertical position pushing it backwards (towards the body of the ZERO system).
3. Press the button on the head of the ZERO system, repeatedly for the desired carbonation level, maximum
3 or 4 short but rm pressures.
4. Once satised with the level of carbonation, pull the bottle towards you to unscrew it. Done!
PASSAGE FROM WATER NETWORK TO TANK (only if previously installed on the network)
Close the “T” shut-off valve.
The transition from “water network” to “tank” takes place in this way:
→Press the sanitisation button for 5 s (button off), the natural water
button starts flashing;
→Press the natural water button, the natural water button turns off
and the sanitisation button starts flashing;
→Press the sanitisation button for 5 seconds to conrm switching to
the tank.
I tempi di taratura personalizzata eventualmente impostati vengono
riportati ai valori di default e non a quelli precedentemente
impostati.
The customised calibration times that may have been set are reset to
the default values and not to those previously set.
In the event of an incomplete sequence (exceeding the maximum time
for completing the sequence) nothing happens.
The sequence is not possible with the sanitisation indicator on (ZERO
gives precedence to this activity.
ANTI-LEAK DEVICE
The ZERO system is equipped with a water leak detector. In the event of internal water leaks the machine
goes into “safety lock” mode and the maintenance light (wrench) is activated on the display.
In this case it is advisable to disconnect the ZERO system power socket for 10 hours. If the machine is
connected to the water mains, close the “T” valve.
After 10 hours, reconnect the power socket and, if connected to the water supply, open the “T” valve.
If the problem is not resolved, contact support.
MACHINE INACTIVE FOR A LENGTHY PERIOD
If the machine is not used for more than a week (dispensing less than 0.8 litres) after the rst activation by
the end user, the sanitisation button will light up with the possibility for the end user to carry out the same.
The calculation of the week is given by the comparison between the time counter for replacing the lter and
the litre counter. The constraint is valid both when the machine is powered by electricity and when it is not
(in this case the sanitisation button lights up together with the next activation).

Insert the inclined bottle,
twisting it into the ZERO
system.
Press the button until you
hear a venting noise.
Repeat as many times as
you wish to create sparkling
water.
Bring the bottle towards
you by tilting it, thus
allowing the excess gas to
escape.
Unscrew the bottle.
We recommend using cold water
because at low temperatures the water will
carbonate better.
ATTENTION:
After carbonating the water it is mandatory to
vent the excess gas, tilting the bottle forward,
before unscrewing it. Otherwise the pressure
accumulated inside the bottle can damage the
appliance.
O-RING SEALS:
For the operation of the appliance, there must be a seal between the
cylinder support and the cylinder valve itself.
It is located in the gas cylinder housing. Otherwise, in the absence of it, a
gas leak and/or water leak would occur during the gasication process.
If you have lost the seal, you can purchase one separately (see page
- 32).

KIT FOR SANITISATION/DECALCIFICATION
AND FILTER CHANGE
WHEN TO PURCHASE IT:
> When prompted by your ZERO system (1,500 L/6 months)
> After 1 week of inactivity (less than 0.8L of water supplied)
> If an additional lter change is required (little water comes out of the dispenser
due to the composition of the incoming water).
WHAT THIS PACK CONTAINS:
> 1 new lter HAPPY FRIZZ ZERO Microltration 0.5 MICRON.
> 1 sanitising/descaling sachet 12.5 g HAPPY FRIZZ SaniKit.
WHY YOU NEED THIS KIT:
> To sanitise your ZERO system;
> To decalcify the entire circuit of the system;
> To replace the used lter with the new one, guaranteeing the quality of the
water you drink.
FILTER CHANGE PREPARATION
If you are about to use this pack, it means that your ZERO system has requested a lter change, after
sanitising the system; or, due to the composition of the incoming water, you need an additional lter change.
Before replacing the used lter with the new one, make sure you have completed the assisted sanitation
process. If you have opted for an additional lter change, periodic sanitisation will not be necessary as it is
not required by your ZERO system so it is sufcient to remove the old lter and to replace it with the new one.
▶WARNINGS:
> Do not re-use the used lter.
> Do not insert a new lter if the sanitisation procedure has not been performed (if requested by your ZERO
system).
> Your Happy Frizz ZERO system is a water treatment device for human consumption. The quality of the
water you drink can only be guaranteed if the periodic sanitisation/decalcication is carried out. The
ZERO system is designed to accompany you step by step in this activity.
BEFORE STARTING THE SANITISATION/DECALCIFICATION PROCEDURE
ATTENTION: IF YOU ARE NOT READY TO CARRY OUT THE PROCEDURE AND YOU DO NOT HAVE WITH
YOU A SUITABLE 3L CONTAINER, DO NOT START THE SANITISATION DECALCIFICATION PROCEDURE.
IF THE APPLIANCE WAS INSTALLED AT THE WATER MAINS IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO
CLOSE THE WATER FLOW AND THEN THE “T” VALVE (as shown in the photo)

COMPLETE PROCEDURE OF SANITISATION/DECALCIFICATION /
FILTER CHANGE..
STAFF NOTE
ZERO invites you to carry out the sanitisation/descaling and lter change procedure every 1500 L, or every 6
months or if the ZERO system has not been used for 1 week or more.
The next few steps may seem tedious or long; in reality it was more difcult to write them in this manual than
to actually carry them out. In any case ZERO will accompany you through these phases, step by step. It is
very important that you strictly follow the instructions below.
The rst stage of the procedure is to make sure that the sanitising/descaling powder arrives throughout the
circuit and the second part is used to rinse your ZERO well. Shall we begin?

CONGRATULATIONS, YOUR ZERO IS SANITISED, DESCALED AND YOUR FILTER IS
READY TO WORK!
VERY IMPORTANT NOTES.
1. REMEMBER TO ALWAYS FILL THE EXTERNAL TANK UP TO THE LEVEL. Otherwise ZERO will run out of
water ahead of time. If it happens ZERO will resume from the previous phase.
2. THE CONFIRMATION OF THE VARIOUS SEQUENCES RELATED TO THE ACTIVATION AND SHUTDOWN
OF THE WATER LEVEL LIGHT IS RELATED TO THE REMOVAL AND REPOSITIONING OF THE EXTERNAL
TANK, IF POORLY SUPPORTED, ZERO WILL NOT CONTINUE THE PROCEDURE.
In the event you encountered any difculties, we report below all the FAQs typical for this procedure.
FAQ
1. What happens if the current jumps or if I mistakenly cut off the current? The ZERO sanitisation will
restart from the “25 minutes” phase (PHASE 8).
2. Can I stop the sanitisation once it has started? It is not possible to interrupt once the magenta
sanitisation button has been pressed because, even if ZERO is switched off, it is programmed to
reactivate from the “25 minutes” phase (pre-rinse phase) (PHASE 8).
5. If water comes out of the container for water drainage? It is important to follow the sanitisation/
descaling process step by step. If the 3L container overflows, it means that it has not been emptied
before giving the ok (icon activation) for the next action. At this point, empty the 3L container as fast as
possible.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Before contacting the service, consult the following list of problems and their solutions.
Often the products we consider fault are in fact perfettamente funzionanti. When a customer encounters
the following problems, these are simple small oversights and are easily resolved by our customer care
service over the phone. Our aim is to avoid any shipping that would be useless and expensive.
1. THE APPLIANCE DOES NOT CARBONATE:
→Cylinder empty. Purchase a Happy Frizz rell, bringing the empty one to a point of sale.
→There are 2 gaskets (o-rings) between the cylinder support and the cylinder valve itself.
→The cylinder may have come loose. Remove the carbonating bottle, open the HappyFrizz® bottle
compartment (page 12), access the cylinder and manually tighten the cylinder, twisting it into
place. DO NOT use tools.
→Check that the carbonating bottle has been lled with water up to the lling line.
→Check that the ZERO system is in a vertical position.
2. THE APPLIANCE LEAKS DURING CARBONATION:
→Excessive lling of the bottle, beyond the level indicated on it.
→Gasket (o-ring), between the cylinder support and the cylinder valve itself, absent.
Purchase a new one.
→Too much pressure exerted on the carbonation button. Press more gently.
→Check that the bottle is tightly screwed. If the bottle has come loose, remove it and insert it again.
3. THERE ARE GAS LEAKS DURING THE GASIFICATION PROCESS:
→Gasket (o-ring), between the cylinder support and the cylinder valve itself, absent.
→Screw and tighten the cylinder into the appropriate coupling. DO NOT use tools.
4. THE APPLIANCE CONTINUES TO RELEASE GAS ALSO AT THE END OF THE CARBONATION:
→Do not remove the cylinder or the bottle. Leave the ZERO system in a vertical position.
→Do not touch the ZERO system until gas leakage has nished.
→When no more gas comes out of the machine, remove the carbonating bottle and contact the
nearest customer service centre.
5. THE CARBONATION LEVEL IS LOW:
→WARNING: Do NOT repeat the carbonation after having added the concentrate.
→If the concentrate has not yet been added, repeat the carbonation at a higher level.
→Perform carbonation using cold water.
→If the level of carbonation is still low, it is possible that the gas is depleted. Replace the cylinder.
6. THE SOFT DRINK DOESN’T HAVE MUCH FLAVOUR:
→Add more concentrate.
→WARNING: FOR SAFETY REASONS, DO NOT repeat the carbonation of an already flavoured drink.
It is possible to repeat the carbonation only of natural water or carbonated water to which no
concentrate has been added.
7. WATER IS LEAKING FROM THE EXTERNAL FITTINGS (ZERO CONNECTED TO THE WATER NETWORK):
→Push the tube towards the tting in order to connect it correctly (until you hear a click).
→Check that you have strictly followed the instructions included in the ZERO INSTALLATION kit.
8. THE MAINTENANCE LIGHT COMES ON (ZERO CONNECTION TO THE WATER MAINS):
→Check that the pipes are not bent, preventing the passage of water.
Otherwise, read the ANTI-LEAK DEVICE paragraph on page 19 of this manual.
9. THE WATER PRODUCED IS BELOW THE EXPECTED PERFORMANCE LEVELS:
→Due to the composition of the inlet water, the lter is clogged. Purchase a new lter as indicated
on page 21 of this manual.
10. THE SYSTEM NO LONGER DISPENSES WATER:
→Check that there has been no power outage. Check that the system is correctly connected to the
power outlet.
11. THE TASTE OF WATER IS POOR DUE TO THE INITIAL PERFORMANCE:
→The lter needs replacing; replace it with a new one. Proceed to sanitise the system as described
on page 19/20.
